International Journal of Political Economy

ISSN: 0891-1916eISSN: 1558-0970

The International Journal of Political Economy is an international peer reviewed journal that publishes scholarly research in all traditions of political economy. Founded in 1971 by the well-known Marxist political economist, Paul Mattick, who is celebrated for having explored connections between the Marxist and Keynesian approaches to political economy, it has evolved from being originally a translation journal that strove to make available scholarly work from former socialist countries to one that now seeks to build bridges among various schools of political economy that stand in opposition to mainstream neoclassical economics. The journal welcomes individual contributions from a critical perspective, as well as suggestions for special thematic issues in all fields of political economy internationally.

Editor: Mario Seccareccia (University of Ottawa) (mseccare@uottawa.ca)

“For international researchers, this journal is an opening into a world too-long neglected by other publications.  Its international focus has helped bridge a gap that has often limited analyses and empirical work on national markets and economies because the increasingly global setting for developments has been ignored.”
Jane D’Arista, University of Massachusetts at Amherst

“Perhaps the most stimulating and venturesome economics journal anywhere. One of the few that integrates first rate economic theory and empirical work on questions of urgent concern in the real world. It's international focus and ability to draw leading researchers from many countries are unique.”

Thomas Ferguson, University of Massachusetts at Boston

"The International Journal of Political Economy is an important, timely and influential journal."

James K. Galbraith, University of Texas at Austin

DOAJ Logo

The IZA Journal of Migration is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen, covering all issues related to the economics of migration and ethnicity in developed or developing countries. The journal constitutes the first platform dedicated to fostering the international debate and to promoting publication excellence in the field of migration economics. The IZA Journal of Migration publishes original theoretical and applied contributions, including topics such as the determinants and consequences of human mobility in both sending and receiving regions and the analysis of migration experience – including the assimilation of migrants and their children, their occupational choices, the role of immigrants’ social networks and remittance behavior. Likewise, the journal encourages submissions of papers covering topics such as the economic analysis of ethnicity, ethnic identity, and language. At a broader level, the IZA Journal of Migration aims at providing policymakers with evidence-based insight on the economics of internal and international migration. As such, papers which focus on the role of migration policies dealing with the monitoring of immigration flows, the process of naturalization, and asylum or illegal migration are also welcome. To enable the journals to make all of their content open access, usually SpringerOpen journals levy an article-processing charge (APC) for each manuscript accepted after peer review. The publication costs for articles in the IZA Journal Series are covered by IZA - Institute for the Study of Labor, so authors do not need to pay an article processing charge. Authors are supposed to actively support the IZA journals by refereeing a certain number of articles. Journal of African Earth Sciences

ISSN: 1464-343XeISSN: 1879-1956

The Journal of African Earth Sciences sees itself as the prime geological journal for all aspects of the geology of the African continent and the Middle East, and especially on the search for natural resources from these regions. This international interdisciplinary journal publishes high quality, peer-reviewed scientific papers on the geodynamics of the African and Arabian plates and their contained mobile belts, cratons and sedimentary basins; the crustal evolution, tectonics and structural geology of this region; economic geology of major mineral deposits and hydrocarbon resources; sedimentology, stratigraphy and palaeontology, petrology and mineralogy, geochemistry and isotope geology of Africa and the Middle East. Papers on applied geology should preferably be linked to such core geological disciplines and must be addressed to a more general geological readership. It is important to note that articles intended for submission to the Journal of African Earth Sciences must be of a wider African (or even international) context rather than purely local studies of limited scope, which should rather be addressed to national or local African-Middle Eastern journal forums. Journal of African Earth Sciences papers should appeal to a wide audience of geoscientists rather than being highly specialised technical papers. The journal is closely affiliated with the Geological Society of Africa and publishes the GSA Newsletter. The Journal of African Earth Sciences recently launched the "Geological Society of Africa Presidential Review" series of invited review articles written by acknowledged international experts, bringing together the latest earth science information for academic, applied geological and mining institutions on particular topics of wide interest.

Baltic Journal of Economics

ISSN: 1406-099XeISSN: 2334-4385
DOAJ Logo

2014 Impact Factor: 0.182
Ranking: 206/333 (Economics)

The Baltic Journal of Economics is a peer-reviewed scientific journal in economics. It is published jointly by Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) and the Baltic International Centre for Economic Policy Studies (BICEPS) in cooperation with Routledge. The Journal is intended to provide a publication medium for original research in economics for scholars working on topics relevant for the Baltic region.

The journal welcomes contributions which have theoretical or empirical emphasis as well as papers that take a political economy approach to research on transitional economies, primarily Baltic or Central European economies. However, the journal welcomes high-quality publications on other countries, if the topic is relevant for the Baltic region. Papers with policy relevance or which combine economic theory with empirical findings are particularly welcome.

The Journal aims to stimulate dialogue between scientists in social science, policy makers as well as other decision makers involved with economic development in the Baltic states. In order to make the journal relevant to a wide audience of academics trained in the social sciences the articles should be presented in a form where explanations and the intuition behind the conclusions should be given priority above technical derivations.

We highly value speed of publication and aim at a fast refereeing process. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single blind and submission is online via Editorial Manager.
