The Puerto Rico Health Sciences Journal (PRHSJ) is the scientific journal of the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. It was founded in 1982 as a vehicle for the publication of reports on scientific research conducted in-campus, Puerto Rico and abroad. All published work is original and peer-reviewed. The PRHSJ is included in Index Medicus, MEDLINE, SCOPUS, Index Pharmacus, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch®) and Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition. All papers are published both online and in hard copy. From its beginning, the PRHSJ is being published regularly four times a year. The scope of the journal includes a range of medical, dental, public health, pharmaceutical and biosocial sciences research. The journal publishes full-length articles, brief reports, special articles, reviews, editorials, case reports, clinical images, and letters arising from published material. This open access journal focuses on clinical and translational research, reviews, and case reports related to the care of diabetes and endocrine conditions.

The journal welcomes clinical and translational research, epidemiologic studies, including prospective and retrospective observational studies, systematic and scoping reviews, case reports, visual and video vignettes, commentaries, and letters relating to diabetes and endocrinology. Topics covered in the journal include diabetes, nutrition and obesity, metabolism, thyroid disease, bone and parathyroid disease, lipid and cardiovascular health, pituitary, gonad, adrenal, neuroendocrine disorders, reproductive health and fertility, health care delivery, endocrine surgery, quality improvement and education. The journal welcomes hypotheses generating research, pilot studies, as well as negative and confirmatory studies. Special issues will focus on emerging topics in endocrinology and diabetes.

This journal was originally titled AACE Clinical Case Reports, from 2015 through March 2025.
