Scope and subject areas The Journal of Physiology publishes full-length research papers and Rapid Reports of particularly important work that merits accelerated publication. Techniques for Physiology, introduced in 2008, are short papers aimed at disseminating new techniques for physiological research. Articles solicited by the Editorial Board include Perspectives, Symposium Reports and Topical Reviews, which highlight areas of special physiological interest, and Classical Perspectives describing how classic papers published in The Journal have influenced current research. Letters to the Editor and Journal Club articles are also published. All categories of papers are subjected to the same review procedure. The Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease is an international multidisciplinary journal to facilitate progress in understanding the etiology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, genetics, behavior, treatment and psychology of Alzheimer’s disease. The journal publishes research reports, reviews, short communications, book reviews, and letters-to-the-editor. The journal is dedicated to providing an open forum for original research that will expedite our fundamental understanding of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Pakistan Veterinary Journal (PVJ) is a quarterly publication and is being published regularly since 1981 by the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. This is the only scientific peer reviewed journal in Veterinary Sciences in Pakistan. Original research papers, review, extension and clinical articles on the production and diseases of animals, including studies in comparative medicine, are published in this journal. Moreover, professional news and information of interest to the veterinarians and allied professionals working in veterinary hospitals, livestock and poultry farms, research and teaching institutions, animal feed and pharmaceutical industry are also included in PVJ. The journal is also read, abstracted and indexed internationally.

Immunity, Inflammation and Disease is a peer-reviewed, open access, interdisciplinary journal providing rapid publication of research across the broad field of immunology. Immunity, Inflammation and Disease gives rapid consideration to papers in all areas of clinical and basic research. The journal is indexed in Medline and welcomes original work that enhances the understanding of immunology in areas including:

In order for research to advance, negative results, which often make a valuable contribution to the field, should be published. However, articles containing negative or null results are frequently not considered for publication or rejected by journals. We welcome papers of this kind, where appropriate and valid power calculations are included that give confidence that a negative result can be relied upon.

Ostrich: Journal of African Ornithology is the leading ornithological journal in Africa, and publishes peer-reviewed scientific papers and short communications (<2,000 words) on all aspects of ornithology conducted in Africa and its associated islands and marine habitats. Contributions reporting on avian behaviour, breeding, conservation, demography, ecology, migration, morphology and systematics are welcome. Review articles are particularly encouraged. Studies in Higher Education welcomes research-based empirical, reflective or synoptic articles dealing with higher education, approached from any perspective or discipline.
