Journal Guide

Accounts of Chemical Research presents short, concise, and critical articles offering easy-to-read overviews of basic research and applications in all areas of chemistry and in allied fields in which chemical approaches play a key role. Each Account focuses on research from the author’s own laboratory, and they are designed to teach the reader about a research project. 

Each Account can be thought of as a “seminar in print,” as the authors tell the research story of their lab and give readers insight into both the science itself as well as the people behind it.

Accounts are only considered for publication by invitation, but prospective authors are encouraged to submit a Proposal which, if accepted, will result in an invitation to submit a full Account. The journal considers submissions in core fields such as, but not limited to:

• Analytical, physical, inorganic, and organic chemistry
• Biological and medicinal chemistry, and biotechnology
• Sustainable and environmental chemistry
• Computational and theoretical chemistry
• Materials and nanoscience

Contemporary Accounting Research (CAR) is the premiere research journal of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association, which publishes leading- edge research that contributes to our understanding of all aspects of accounting's role within organizations, markets or society. Canadian based, increasingly global in scope, CAR seeks to reflect the geographical and intellectual diversity in accounting research. To accomplish this, CAR will continue to publish in its traditional areas of excellence, while seeking to more fully represent other research streams in its pages, so as to continue and expand its tradition of excellence. Therefore, CAR welcomes interesting and intellectually rigorous work in all areas of accounting (including audit, financial, information systems, managerial and tax), using relevant methods (including but not limited to analytical, archival, case study, empirical, experimental, or field); based on economics, finance, history, psychology, sociology, or any cognate disciplines that help illuminate the role of accounting within organizations, markets or society.

Dr. Toutkoushian is Professor of Higher Education at the University of Georgia and specializes in the application of economic theories and quantitative methods to problems in higher education. He has a Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University, and prior to joining the faculty at Georgia University, he worked at Indiana University and the University of Minnesota. Archives of Dermatological Research is a highly rated international journal that publishes original contributions in the field of experimental dermatology, including papers on biochemistry, morphology and immunology of the skin. The journal is among the few not related to dermatological associations or belonging to respective societies which guarantees complete independence. Measuring and monitoring the Earth, environmental processes and change, as well as the interaction between humans and the Earth has led to the creation of a growing body of large data sets.

'Big Earth data' are gradually becoming a new engine of scientific discovery and knowledge innovation for Earth System Science.

Big Earth Data is an interdisciplinary Open Access journal. It aims to provide an efficient and high quality platform for promoting 'big data' sharing, processing and analyses, thereby revolutionising the cognition of the Earth's systems.

The journal publishes research topics on 'big data' studies across the entire spectrum of Earth Sciences. Article types include original research articles, review articles, data papers and technical notes. By providing a platform for the publication of research papers and data papers with descriptions of data sets, the journal aims to promote the principle of data sharing via an open data policy.

As the flagship journal of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), Child Development has published articles, essays, reviews, and tutorials on various topics in the field of child development since 1930. Spanning many disciplines, the journal provides the latest research, not only for researchers and theoreticians, but also for child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, specialists in early childhood education, educational psychologists, special education teachers, and other researchers. Current Aging Science publishes frontier review and experimental articles in all areas of aging and age-related research that may influence longevity. This multidisciplinary journal will help in understanding the biology and mechanism of aging, genetics, pathogenesis, intervention of normal aging process and preventive strategies of age-related disorders. The journal publishes objective reviews written by experts and leaders actively engaged in research using cellular, clinical, molecular, and animal models, including lower organism models (e.g., yeast, Caenorhabditis elegans and Drosophila). In addition to the affect of aging on integrated systems, the journal also covers original articles on recent research in fast emerging areas of adults stem cells, brain imaging, calorie restriction, immunosenescence, molecular diagnostics, pharmacology and clinical aspects of aging. Manuscripts are encouraged that relate to developmental programming of aging and the synergistic mechanism of aging with cardiovascular diseases, obesity and neurodegenerative disorders.

Doklady Chemistry is a journal containing English translations of current Russian research in chemistry and chemical technology from the chemistry and chemical technology sections of the Doklady Akademii Nauk (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences). The Proceedings appear 36 times a year; the articles from the chemistry and chemical technology sections are collected, translated, and published in 12 issues a year. Doklady Chemistry publishes the most significant new chemistry and chemical technology research being done in Russia today thus ensuring its scientific priority. Engineering Research Express (ERX) is a broad, multidisciplinary journal devoted to publishing new experimental and theoretical research covering topics extending across all areas of engineering science including interdisciplinary fields. The Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition publishes original papers on research in the fields of animal physiology, physiology and biochemistry of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation. The journal is a forum for presenting articles on basic and applied research, thus making new findings, methods, and techniques easily accessible and applicable in practice. Reviews of the most important specialized literature are also included. A supplemental series Advances in Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition is published at irregular intervals. Cancer survivorship is a worldwide trend; currently there are 12 million cancer survivors in the US alone. More and more cancer survivors are searching for legitimate sources of health information and educating themselves via the internet. In addition, the research in this area is growing rapidly and requires a forum. The Journal of Cancer Survivorship publishes basic research, clinical investigations and policy-related research that can impact the quality of care and quality of life of cancer survivors.The journal presents peer reviewed papers relevant to improving the understanding, prevention, and management of the multiple areas related to cancer survivorship that can affect quality of care, longevity and quality of life.

The Journal of Dental Education (JDE) is a distinguished monthly journal published by the American Dental Education Association. Since 1936, the JDE has provided coverage of the wide variety of scientific and educational research involved in dental and allied dental education. It is particularly influential and respected and recognized as the premier publication for academic dentistry, covering topics ranging from the impact on oral health research of recent findings in such areas as genetics and the brain, to innovative testing methodologies, to curriculum reform, to systematic reviews of clinical trials regarding oral, dental, and craniofacial diseases and disorders. The JDE is one of only a few scholarly journals that are publishing the most important work being done in dental education and research today.

The Journal of Food Science and Technology (JFST) is the official publication of the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists of India (AFSTI). This bimonthly publishes peer-reviewed research papers and reviews in all branches of science, technology, packaging and engineering of foods and food products. Special emphasis is given to fundamental and applied research findings that have potential for enhancing product quality, extend shelf life of fresh and processed food products and improve process efficiency. Critical reviews on new perspectives in food handling and processing, innovative and emerging technologies and trends and future research in food products and food industry byproducts are also welcome. The journal also publishes book reviews relevant to all aspects of food science, technology and engineering.

Journal of Sensor and Actuator Networks (ISSN 2224-2708) is an international open access journal on the science and technology of sensor and actuator networks. It publishes regular research papers, reviews (including comprehensive reviews on complete sensor and actuator networks), and short communications. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. There are, in addition, unique features of this journal: Manuscripts regarding research proposals and research ideas will be particularly welcomed. Electronic files and software regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary material.

JoVE, the Journal of Visualized Experiments, is the world's first peer reviewed scientific video journal. Established in 2006, JoVE is devoted to publishing scientific research in a visual format to help researchers overcome two of the biggest challenges facing the scientific research community today; poor reproducibility and the time and labor intensive nature of learning new experimental techniques. Political Communication is an interdisciplinary, international journal, published quarterly, that features cutting-edge research at the intersection of politics and communication, broadly conceived. Its expansive subject is the site of rapid changes and pressing policy concerns worldwide. The journal welcomes all research methods and analytical viewpoints that advance understanding of the practices, processes, and policy implications of political communication in all its forms. The Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology brings together the latest research on psychopathology in childhood and adolescence, with an emphasis on empirical studies of the major childhood disorders (the disruptive behavior disorders, depression, anxiety, and pervasive developmental disorders). Studies focus on the epidemiology, etiology, assessment, treatment, prognosis, follow-up, and developmental course of child and adolescent disorders. Studies highlighting risk and protective factors, the ecology and correlates of children's behavior problems, and advances in prevention and treatment are featured. The Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology is the official journal of the International Society for Research in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (ISRCAP), a multidisciplinary scientific society.
