Microscopy Research and Technique ( MRT ) publishes articles on all aspects of advanced microscopy in the biological, clinical, chemical, and materials sciences. Original research as well as technical papers dealing with the various subsets of microscopy are welcomed. This includes electron microscopy (transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, analytical microscopy [X-ray, EELS, Auger, etc.]), light microscopy (confocal microscopy, video microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, light microscopy combined Raman spectroscopy, fourier transform infra red spectroscopy [FTIR], etc.), scanning probe microscopy (AFM, STM, etc.), micro magnetic resonance imaging, micro acoustic imaging, as well as image analysis, quantitative morphology, and all other forms of leading edge microscopic imaging and image analysis. It is expected that manuscripts submitted for consideration will clearly present the scientific question, justify the type of specimen(s) used in the experiment, explicitly describe the methods utilized, employ proper statistics, present previously unpublished data, discuss whether the experiment has answered the proposed question, compare the results with those in salient published literature, and conform to MRT 's prescribed journal format.

Pain Research & Management will consider for publication original papers on any scientific aspect of pain, namely basic science and animal studies, and clinical topics, including epidemiological, social, psychological and psychiatric aspects, as well as reviews and case reports. Memetic Computing features articles on high quality research in hybrid metaheuristics (including evolutionary hybrids) for optimization, control and design in continuous and discrete optimization domains. Teaching Education is an interdisciplinary forum for innovative practices and research in teacher education. Climate services develop and provide science-based and user-specific information relating to past, present and potential future climate. They help society cope with climate variability and change. Climate service users include economic, administrative, political and scientific bodies, within and across sectors and disciplines. Information about climate, climate change, and impacts on natural and human systems as well as mitigation and adaptation strategies is tailored to the specific user requirements.

The journal Climate Services is at the interface between climate research and application, specifically related to climate services. Climate services address all sectors affected by climate, at global, regional and local scale. They connect natural and socio-economic research with practice. The Journal of Mathematical Behavior solicits original research on the learning and teaching of mathematics. We are interested especially in basic research, research that aims to clarify, in detail and depth, how mathematical ideas develop in learners. As our founding editor, Robert B. Davis, wrote in 1980:Scientific study is supposed to be a no-holds-barred attempt to identify key phenomena, and by building conceptual structures and collecting data, to explain and understand these phenomena.1Over three decades, our experience confirms a founding premise of this journal: that mathematical thinking, hence mathematics learning as a social enterprise, is special. It is special because mathematics is special, both logically and psychologically. Logically, through the way that mathematical ideas and methods have been built, refined and organized for centuries across a range of cultures; and psychologically, through the variety of ways people today, in many walks of life, make sense of mathematics, develop it, make it their own. Historically, this journal has sought and welcomed papers that develop detailed, fundamental understanding of how people, in realistic settings, build, retain, communicate, apply and understand important mathematical ideas.Our intended audience includes researchers who concentrate on the learning of mathematics and science, psychologists, mathematicians, cognitive scientists, teachers, teacher educators, curriculum developers, parents, administrators, and policy makers.On this basis, we especially encourage basic studies that might indicate a range of possibilities not commonly recognized. Aims and Scope

The Journal of Responsible Innovation ( JRI) provides a forum for discussions of the normative assessment and governance of knowledge-based innovation. JRI offers humanists, social scientists, policy analysts and legal scholars, and natural scientists and engineers an opportunity to articulate, strengthen, and critique the relations among approaches to responsible innovation, thus giving further shape to a newly emerging community of research and practice.  These approaches include ethics, technology assessment, governance, sustainability, socio-technical integration, and others. JRI intends responsible innovation to be inclusive of such terms as responsible development and sustainable development, and the journal invites comparisons and contrasts among such concepts. While issues of risk and environmental health and safety are relevant, JRI especially encourages attention to the assessment of the broader and more subtle human and social dimensions of innovation—including moral, cultural, political, and religious dimensions, social risk, and sustainability addressed in a systemic fashion.

JRI invites three kinds of written contributions: research articles of 6,000 to 10,000 words in length, inclusive of notes and references, that communicate original theoretical or empirical investigations; perspectives of approximately 2,000 words in length that communicate opinions, summaries, or reviews of timely issues, publications, cultural or social events, or other activities; and pedagogy, communicating in appropriate length experience in or studies of teaching, training, and learning related to responsible innovation in formal (e.g., classroom) and informal (e.g., museum) environments.
