Although sport nutrition represents a distinct field of academic and applied work, it receives input from—and makes contributions to—such fields as nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, psychology, clinical medicine, and the sport and exercise sciences. Since its inception, the International Journal of Sport Nutrition provided a forum for those studying sport nutrition from a variety of perspectives. At the same time, exercise biochemists have been studying the metabolic responses and adaptations to physical activity, creating an overlap between the two areas of study. Recognizing the maturity and interdependence of these two scientific disciplines, the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism (IJSNEM) was created. The journal is designed to provide a forum for the publication of both scholarly and applied work relating to the nutritional, biochemical, and molecular aspects of exercise science.IJSNEM publishes original scientific investigations and scholarly reviews offering new insights into sport nutrition and exercise metabolism, as well as articles focusing on the application of the principles of biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition to sport and exercise. Original research with human subjects will be emphasized, although relevant research with experimental animals may be submitted. Case studies that demonstrate systematic, rather than casual, observation made with appropriate instrumentation, and articles with clinical application will be included. The journal will continue to offer editorials, digests of related articles from other fields, research notes, and reviews of books, videos, and other media releases.
View a list of the latest free articles available from International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics The International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics has three inter-related aims: to stimulate scholarly debate about the role, significance and impact of public policy on sport to encourage critical analysis of sport policy and the sport policy process to publish articles that are theoretically rigorous and of interest to both scholars and practitioners Editorial StatementThe International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics aims to publish articles that address all aspects of sport policy irrespective of academic discipline. Articles that adopt a multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary or comparative approach are particularly welcome. The Editorial Board is especially keen to encourage the submission of articles that cover one or more of the following five broad themes: theoretical contributions to analyses of the policy process for sport which draw upon and develop current macro and meso level theories and analytic frameworks the development of robust, evidence-based empirical research on the impact of sport policy the role and influence of national and sub-national government in relation to sport policy. At the national/federal government level this would include both the utilisation of sport to achieve a range of non-sport objectives such as those related to economic, social, cultural and diplomatic objectives as well as policy focused more sharply on sport outcomes such as improved elite performance and increased participation. At sub-national/local level this theme would include the use of sport to help fulfil community social and economic objectives as well as the role of regional and local government in providing sport opportunities. the significance of government, for example as regulator, resource provider and competitor, for the operation of commercial, semi-commercial, and not-for-profit/voluntary clubs, leagues and national sports organisations/national governing bodies, and the development activities of these organisations. the role of transnational government organisations, such as the EU, the World Anti-Doping Agency, UNESCO, Council of Europe, and NGOs, such as the International Olympic Committee and the major international federations, in relation, for example, to the regulation and development of sport. "Sport policy is assuming greater importance at local, regional, national and international levels. There is increasing recognition of the social and economic benefits of sport and policies and government initiatives to exploit these benefits are being implemented and monitored. Sports events are increasingly being supported by governments at local, regional and national levels. Other government policies and laws impact directly on sport, such as child protection, the education curriculum, and government expenditure. The time is therefore right for the International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics - which will help in the process of exploring the way sport policy is constructed and delivered, and its effects on relevant communities."Peter Taylor, Sheffield Hallam University, UK8220;This is a much needed journal. The knowledge produced in the sports sciences seldom reaches decision-makers in forms they can use to identify issues, consider a full range of policy alternatives, and assess current and past policies.International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics provides a forum for presenting issues and research-based discussions that will lead to more fully and critically informed policy decisions at all levels of sport organization.8221;Jay Coakley, University of Colorado, USADisclaimerTaylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the "Content") contained in its publications. The International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology (IJSEP) publishes empirical and theoretical contributions in the science of physical activity, human movement, exercise, and sport. The journal's Editors and Editorial Board encourage researchers and scholars worldwide to submit their work for publication, since the journal emphasizes its international perspective. Innovative applications, cross-cultural research and position statements of international organizations are especially welcomed. The primary purposes of IJSEP are to promote understanding of sport psychology research and practice around the world, enhance theoretical and practical knowledge in these fields and promote high-quality scientific and applied work in sport and exercise psychology. Sections in the Journal are devoted to areas including group dynamics, moral and ethical issues, social aspects in sport and exercise, and biological aspects of behavior. Chinese Section The Journal has an exciting online Chinese section, published twice a year. Articles are published in Chinese, with abstracts in English. All articles in the Chinese section are free to view throughout 2011. The International Society of Sport Psychology The Journal is received by students and professional members of the International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP) as a direct membership benefit. The ISSP provides a forum for individuals who are interested in theory, research, practice and professional development in the discipline of sport psychology throughout the world. The Society exists to (a) encourage and promote the study of human behaviour within sport, physical activity, and health settings; (b) facilitate the sharing of knowledge through books, journals, newsletters, meetings and a quadrennial congress, and (c) improve the quality of research and professional practice in sport psychology. The Society also endeavours to foster peace and understanding among people from all countries. The ISSP is the only worldwide organisation of scholars explicitly concerned with sport psychology. International Review of Sport & Exercise Psychology - discount for ISSP members ISSP members are also entitled to a discounted rate to Taylor & Francis' proprietary publication, International Review of Sport & Exercise Psychology, at just $15 a year.Peer Review Integrity All research articles in this journal, including those in special issues, special sections or supplements, have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two independent referees.Disclaimer Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. The International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance (IJSPP) is an international peer-reviewed journal that examines practical and research aspects of sports physiology and sports performance. The editorial mission of IJSPP is to advance the knowledge of sport and exercise physiologists, sport scientists, sport physicians, and sport-performance researchers. The journal promotes the publication of research in sport physiology and related disciplines that has direct practical application to enhancing sport performance, preventing decrements in performance, or enhancing recovery of athletes. The journal publishes original research reports, invited reviews, commentaries, technical reports, case studies, and an editorial section. The intended breadth of IJSPP includes team sports, individual sports, performance aspects of environmental physiology, applied sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, biomedical science, and applications of sport technology. Controlled experimental and observational research of a comprehensive or systematic nature is welcome, provided that appropriate standards of scientific methodology and analysis are met. The journal will be of interest to sport scientists, sport physicians, coaches, academic researchers, students, and related professionals.
