Journal Guide

The International Journal of Strategic Communication is part of an international effort to integrate various communication disciplines such as marketing and managerial communication, public relations, political and health communication, social marketing/information campaigns, technical communication, and even international relations and public diplomacy into a coherent body of knowledge. Formal communication practice takes place in different formats and contexts in virtually every society on the globe. For the past 30 years or so there have been increasing calls for integrating these various practices into a coherent body of knowledge. These specialties are all involved in the intentional use of communications to help organizations advance their missions and attain organizational goals. Similar strategies, theories and concepts are used across these contexts, but often without making logical connections or cross- references from other disciplines. Cross referencing theories from different disciplines might enlighten researchers on this single notion: how communicators who act on behalf of another person or body can use this knowledge to improve practice and understand their impact on society. Thus, we invite scholars who study communication practice in every sector of society --from trade and industry to politics, nonprofits, activist groups, and even celebrities in the sports and entertainment industries -- to help us better define this field of study. Already the first issues of IJSC have published research from Africa, Australia, various European countries, and the United States. Upcoming issues include articles from Asia and the Far East. Topics and methodologies run the gamut from critical and theoretical essays to articles using qualitative and quantitative methodologies. We particularly encourage diversity in type of article and methodology because these differ from country to country, and we do not wish to create a particular hegemonic approach to the study of this new field. We often work with authors to improve their articles if we believe the content is relevant and new and brings insight from a part of the globe that has been neglected in the past. This is the inaugural article to the journal written by five scholars from different parts of the globe and who set out to provide guidelines for the study of strategic communication. International Journal of Strategic Property Management is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal which publishes original research papers. The journal provides a forum for discussion and debate relating to all areas of strategic property management. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following: asset management, facilities management, property policy, budgeting and financial controls, enhancing residential property value, marketing and leasing, risk management, real estate valuation and investment, innovations in residential management, housing finance, sustainability and housing development, applications of information technologies in property management, mathematical methods in property management, international comparisons and developments, theoretical and conceptual frameworks for strategic property management, etc. All submissions are subject to review by two independent referees.

The International Journal of Stroke is a welcome addition to the international stroke journal landscape in that it concentrates on the clinical aspects of stroke with basic science contributions in areas of clinical interest. Reviews of current topics are broadly based to encompass not only recent advances of global interest but also those which may be more important in certain regions and the journal regularly features items of news interest from all parts of the world. Structural engineering is commonly considered a speciality within civil engineering, but it also includes any discipline which has a structural system. This field includes the analysis, design, plan, and research of structural components and structural systems. IJStructE is set up to report the relevant generic studies in this field.

Published in partnership with the European Aeronautics Science Network, as a platform for state of the art in the area of structural integrity.

The aim of this journal is to provide a unique forum for the publication and rapid dissemination of original research on stability and dynamics of structures. Papers that deal with conventional land-based structures, aerospace structures, marine structures, as well as biostructures and micro- and nano-structures are considered. Papers devoted to all aspects of structural stability and dynamics (both transient and vibration response), ranging from mathematical formulations, novel methods of solutions, to experimental investigations and practical applications in civil, mechanical, aerospace, marine, bio- and nano-engineering will be published.The important subjects of structural stability and structural dynamics are placed together in this journal because they share somewhat fundamental elements. In recognition of the considerable research interests and recent proliferation of papers in these subjects, it is hoped that the journal may help bring together papers focused on related subjects, including the state-of-the-art surveys, so as to provide a more effective medium for disseminating the latest developments to researchers and engineers.This journal features a section for technical notes that allows researchers to publish their initial findings or new ideas more speedily. Discussions of papers and concepts will also be published so that researchers can have a vibrant and timely communication with others.
