BBA Molecular Basis of Disease addresses the biochemistry and molecular genetics of disease processes and models of human disease. This journal covers aspects of aging, cancer, metabolic-, neurological-, and immunological-based disease. Manuscripts focused on using animal models to elucidate biochemical and mechanistic insight in each of these conditions, are particularly encouraged. Manuscripts should emphasize the underlying mechanisms of disease pathways and provide novel contributions to the understanding and/or treatment of these disorders. Highly descriptive and method development submissions may be declined without full review. BBA Molecular Cell Research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of cellular processes at the molecular level. These include aspects of cellular signaling, signal transduction, cell cycle, apoptosis, intracellular trafficking, secretory and endocytic pathways, biogenesis of cell organelles, cytoskeletal structures, cellular interactions, cell/tissue differentiation and cellular enzymology. Also included are studies at the interface between Cell Biology and Biophysics which apply for example novel imaging methods for characterizing cellular processes.Reviews and mini-reviews on timely topics are considered for publication. BBA Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids publishes papers on original research dealing with novel aspects of molecular genetics related to the lipidome, the biosynthesis of lipids, the role of lipids in cells and whole organisms, the regulation of lipid metabolism and function, and lipidomics in all organisms. Biochimie is a multi-topical journal, publishing original work as well as review articles and mini-reviews in all areas of biology (enzymology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, structure of macromolecules, etc.), provided that the approach adopted stems from biochemistry, biophysics or molecular biology.

Biochimie Open is a new online open access journal for author-financed manuscripts in all areas of biochemical, molecular and structural life sciences. Articles on Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Toxicology, Molecular Pharmacology and Chemical Biology are also welcome. Sound scientific and technical quality is assured by peer review, and the acceptance of articles for publication is based on these qualities rather than editors' or referees' estimates of likely future impact.

Data that are exciting though more preliminary than those acceptable to many traditional journals will be considered for publication if the editors feel that they are likely to stimulate future research.

Biochimie Open offers authors the widest possible forum for their work, which is made freely available to all readers in all countries. Acceptance by Biochimie Open may help authors satisfy the requirements of funding agencies for open access publication. Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (BBE) is the official journal of the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The journal was founded in 1981. One volume, composed of four issues, is published annually. The following types of contributions connected with biocybernetics and biomedical engineering can be accepted for publication: original research works, reviews (if ordered by BBE), short communications and letters.
