Biology and Fertility of Soils

ISSN: 0178-2762eISSN: 1432-0789

Biology and Fertility of Soils publishes in English original papers, reviews and short communications on all fundamental and applied aspects of biology – microflora and microfauna - and fertility of soils. It offers a forum for research aimed at broadening the understanding of biological functions, processes and interactions in soils, particularly concerning the increasing demands of agriculture, deforestation and industrialization. The journal includes articles on techniques and methods that evaluate processes, biogeochemical interactions and ecological stresses, and sometimes presents special issues on relevant topics. The Founding Editor is Johannes C. G. Ottow; the Editor-in-Chief is Paolo Nannipieri, Dipartimento Scienza del Suoloe Nutrizione della Pianta, Università di Firenze, Italy.

Biology and Philosophy

ISSN: 0169-3867eISSN: 1572-8404

Recent decades have witnessed fascinating and controversial advances in the biological sciences. This journal answers the need for meta-theoretical analysis, both about the very nature of biology, as well as about its social implications. Biology and Philosophy is aimed at a broad readership, drawn from both the sciences and the humanities. The journal subscribes to no specific school of biology, nor of philosophy, and publishes work from authors of all persuasions and all disciplines. The editorial board reflects this attitude in its composition and its world-wide membership. Each issue of Biology and Philosophy carries one or more discussions or comparative reviews, permitting the in-depth study of important works and topics.

Biomacromolecules

ISSN: 1525-7797eISSN: 1526-4602

Biomacromolecules is the leading forum for the dissemination of cutting-edge research at the interface of polymer science and biology. Submissions to Biomacromolecules should contain strong elements of innovation in terms of macromolecular design, synthesis and characterization, or in the application of polymer materials to biology and medicine.

Topics covered by Biomacromolecules include, but are not exclusively limited to:

  • Sustainable polymers
  • Natural and renewable polymers
  • Chitin, chitosan, lignin, tannin, and polyaromatic polymers
  • Degradable and recyclable polymers
  • Polymer conjugates
  • Polymeric drugs
  • Polymers in biocatalysis
  • Biomacromolecular assembly
  • Biomimetic polymers
  • Polymer-biomineral hybrids
  • Bioactive polymer surfaces
  • Original polymer design for biomedical applications
  • Polymers in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
  • Polymeric scaffolds

Biomarkers

ISSN: 1354-750XeISSN: 1366-5804

The journal Biomarkers brings together all aspects of the rapidly growing field of biomarker research, encompassing their various uses and applications in one essential source. The journal has enlarged its scope to include the expanding area of biomarkers of disease and now intends to include evidence-based pharmacodynamic markers. Biomarkers, now more than ever, provides a vital forum for the exchange of ideas and techniques in all areas of biomarker research. High quality papers in four main areas are accepted and manuscripts describing novel biomarkers and their subsequent validation are especially encouraged:*Biomarkers of disease: covering measurement of endogenous substances or parameters indicative of a disease process and the use of pharmacodynamic and genetic markers in evidence-based laboratory medicine and treatment (markers of efficacy);* Biomarkers of exposure: covering detection and measurement of internal exposure to drugs and other chemicals;*Biomarkers of response: including measures of endogenous substances or parameters indicative of pathological or biochemical changes both toxicodynamic and pharmacodynamic, resulting from exposure to drugs and other chemicals;*Biomarkers of susceptibility: including genetic factors which alter susceptibility to drugs and other chemicals.Manuscripts can describe biomarkers measured in humans or other animals in vivo or in vitro. Biomarkers will consider publishing negative data from studies of biomarkers of susceptibility in human populations. The emphasis will be on demonstrating relationships between markers and effects rather than methodological papers unless they describe novel techniques.Read More: http://informahealthcare.com/page/bmk/Description.
