Biosensors & Bioelectronics is the principal international journal devoted to research, design, development and application of biosensors and bioelectronics. It is an interdisciplinary journal serving professionals with an interest in the exploitation of biological materials and designs in novel diagnostic and electronic devices including sensors, DNA chips, electronic noses, lab-on-a-chip and µ-TAS.Biosensors are defined as analytical devices incorporating a biological material (e.g. tissue, microorganisms, organelles, cell receptors, enzymes, antibodies, nucleic acids, natural products etc.), a biologically derived material (e.g. recombinant antibodies, engineered proteins, aptamers etc) or a biomimic (e.g. synthetic receptors, biomimetic catalysts, combinatorial ligands, imprinted polymers etc) intimately associated with or integrated within a physicochemical transducer or transducing microsystem, which may be optical, electrochemical, thermometric, piezoelectric, magnetic or micromechanical (Turner et al., 1987; Turner, 1989). Biosensors usually yield a digital electronic signal which is proportional to the concentration of a specific analyte or group of analytes. While the signal may in principle be continuous, devices can be configured to yield single measurements to meet specific market requirements. Examples of Biosensors include immunosensors, enzyme-based biosensors, organism- and whole cell-based biosensors. They have been applied to a wide variety of analytical problems including uses in medicine, biomedical research, drug discovery, the environment, food, process industries, security and defence. The design and study of molecular and supramolecular structures with molecular biorecognition and biomimetic properties for use in analytical devices is also included within the scope of the journal. Here the focus is on the complementary intersection between molecular recognition, nanotechnology, molecular imprinting and supramolecular chemistry to improve the analytical performance and robustness of devices.The emerging field of Bioelectronics seeks to exploit biology in conjunction with electronics in a wider context encompassing, for example, biological fuel cells, bionics and biomaterials for information processing, information storage, electronic components and actuators. A key aspect is the interface between biological materials and micro- and nano-electronics.While endeavouring to maintain coherence in the scope of the journal, the editors will accept reviews and papers of obvious relevance to the community, which describe important new concepts, underpin understanding of the field or provide important insights into the practical application, manufacture and commercialisation of biosensors and bioelectronics.

Biosensors and Biomolecular Electronics is dedicated to the dissemination of cutting-edge research and technological advancements in the field of biosensors, with a primary focus on their healthcare, diagnostic, and therapeutic applications. The journal aims to bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and clinical or commercial deployment, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world impact. 

The journal serves as a global platform for scientists and innovators working at the intersection of bioengineering, life sciences, healthcare, and materials science, with a strong emphasis on the translation of biosensing technologies into clinical and real-world healthcare settings, including precision medicine, infectious diseases, environmental health, and toxicology. We particularly welcome contributions that advance the development and implementation of biosensors in precision medicine, enabling tailored diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment strategies.

Among the important scientific developments of the 20th century is the explosive growth in statistical reasoning and methods for application to studies of human health. Examples include developments in likelihood methods for inference. epidemiologic statistics. clinical trials. survival analysis. and statistical genetics. Substantive problems in public health and biomedical research have fueled the development of statistical methods. which in turn have improved our ability to draw valid inferences from data. Biostatics & Epidemiology is the official publication of the International Biometric Society – Chinese Region. The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of new statistical methods and the promotion of good analytical practices in biomedical investigation and epidemiology.

The journal has four main sections:

• Method and Theory – Papers should contain new statistical methods and theory that are motivated by real clinical applications.
• Applications – Papers should provide comprehensive examples from biomedical sciences and epidemiology and clearly articulate the appropriateness of the chosen statistical methods in addressing significant clinical or research questions.
• Software and Computing – Papers should highlight the utilization of software/computing algorithms in statistical methods related to biomedical science and epidemiology.
• Tutorials – Papers should be educational pieces or critical reviews of statistical methods in important and emerging areas of biomedical science and epidemiology.

Case studies of substantial scientific and methodological importance are also welcomed.

Proposals for special issues are encouraged, and should be discussed with the Editor-in-Chief.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal (by the Editor-in-Chief) and peer review (by independent, anonymous expert referees), if found suitable for further consideration. All peer review is double blind and submission is online via Editorial Manager®.

Bio-surface and Bio-tribology, publishes high quality papers on the surface and tribology associated with bio-systems. The scope includes all aspects of tribology-based science and technology on natural bio-surfaces, natural organs and tissues, body fluids, bio-materials and coatings, interfaces between biological tissues and medical, sport devices or articles for daily use as well as bionic tribo-designs. Original research articles, topical reviews, case reports and short communications are welcome.

Biosystems Engineering publishes research in engineering and the physical sciences that represent advances in understanding or modelling of the performance of biological systems for sustainable developments in land use and the environment, agriculture and amenity, bioproduction processes and the food chain. Biotechnic & Histochemistry (formerly Stain technology) is the official publication of the Biological Stain Commission. The journal is published bimonthly in one volume on behalf of the Biological Stain Commission. Biotechnic & Histochemistry is an interdisciplinary journal embracing all aspects of histochemistry and microtechnic in all areas of the biological sciences from botany to cell biology to medicine. Papers concerning topics as diverse as in situ hybridization, cytochemical probes, autoradiography, light and electron microscopy, tissue culture, image analysis, cytogenetics and automation or computerization of investigative procedures are appropriate for publication. Papers reporting innovative technical methods and/or their applications are considered for publication regardless of their length.
