Biochemical Pharmacology is devoted to publishing original work on the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs and nontherapeutic xenobiotics. Its audience are scientists engaged in drug discovery and in identifying drug mechanisms of action. All areas of pharmacology are represented in the journal, including drug metabolism and kinetics. It is of particular value to those interested in anti-inflammatory drugs, cancer chemotherapy, neuropharmacology and cardiovascular pharmacology.While particular emphasis is placed on reporting findings that relate to the actions and metabolism of drugs and toxic substances at the biochemical and molecular levels, submissions in the areas of behavioral and physiological pharmacology and toxicology are also encouraged if they describe studies directed at defining mechanisms of action.Reports based on experiments conducted with mixtures, plant or animal extracts will not be considered for publication unless the chemical structures and concentrations of all substances are known and the compounds are obtained from commercial suppliers.The journal publishes the following types of reports:(1) Full-length Research Papers. Biochemical Systematics and Ecology is devoted to the publication of original papers and reviews, both submitted and invited, in two subject areas: (i) the application of biochemistry to problems relating to systematic biology of organisms (biochemical systematics); (ii) the role of biochemistry in interactions between organisms or between an organism and its environment (biochemical ecology). Papers will be grouped in each issue according to subject area. Research papers should generally be of completed investigations. Preliminary reports will be published where findings are considered to be of sufficient interest to justify rapid publication. In addition, short reports of new sources of known compounds (New Source Reports) will be accepted where they can be justified in terms of systematic or ecological significance. These reports must be written to a standard format.One volume will appear annually and eleven issues will constitute a volume. BBA Molecular Basis of Disease addresses the biochemistry and molecular genetics of disease processes and models of human disease. This journal covers aspects of aging, cancer, metabolic-, neurological-, and immunological-based disease. Manuscripts focused on using animal models to elucidate biochemical and mechanistic insight in each of these conditions, are particularly encouraged. Manuscripts should emphasize the underlying mechanisms of disease pathways and provide novel contributions to the understanding and/or treatment of these disorders. Biochimie is a multi-topical journal, publishing original work as well as review articles and mini-reviews in all areas of biology (enzymology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, structure of macromolecules, etc.), provided that the approach adopted stems from biochemistry, biophysics or molecular biology.
Data that are exciting though more preliminary than those acceptable to many traditional journals will be considered for publication if the editors feel that they are likely to stimulate future research.
Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (BBE) is the official journal of the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The journal was founded in 1981. One volume, composed of four issues, is published annually. The following types of contributions connected with biocybernetics and biomedical engineering can be accepted for publication: original research works, reviews (if ordered by BBE), short communications and letters. A special attention is focused on the following fields: biosystems, biomeasurements, artificial organs, biomaterials, biomechanics, medical information systems, neuronal nets etc. Any researcher can have a paper published in the journal. The only criterion for the acceptance of the submitted paper is its scientific value confirmed by the reviewers.
