Cryptography and Communications

ISSN: 1936-2447eISSN: 1936-2455

Cryptography and Communications: Discrete Structures, Boolean Functions and Sequences publishes scholarly research dedicated to improving the quality of the Discrete Structures, Boolean Functions and Sequences used in communication and cryptographic systems. This research aims to increase the speed and capacity of digital communication and strengthen security by improving the encryption necessary to combat cryptanalytic attacks. With improved encryption, communication will become more secure from the cryptanalytic attacks that threaten the confidentiality and integrity of personal data stored on and transmitted by mobile devices. Increasing the speed, reliability, and capacity of wireless communication is essential for growth, since the radio spectrum is a bounded resource. While sometimes treated as separate entities with distinct research goals, communication and cryptography often use similar models and techniques and work in tandem in digital networks. As a result, this journal’s distinctive combination encourages researchers to strive for advancements that will improve both areas simultaneously, thus providing a publishing forum for these domains, covering all the fundamental and computational aspects of these research fields. The journal publishes high-quality papers dealing with cryptography, error-correcting codes, communications and their interactions. Both theoretical and applied papers will be considered, with an emphasis on supporting applications. Applications include channel coding, wireless communications (e.g., mobile phones and satellite communications), security of the Internet, banking transfer security, and embedded security devices. The scope of the journal focuses on discrete structures used in stream and block ciphers in symmetric cryptography: code division multiple access in communications: and random number generation for statistics, cryptography and numerical methods. In, particular, papers covering Boolean functions and sequences, without excluding any other discrete structure used in cryptography and communications, such as finite fields and other algebraic structures, are strongly encouraged. Topics include, but are not limited to: Boolean functions for pseudo-random generators in stream ciphers and related cryptographic criteria Weights and nonlinearity of Boolean functions, character sums Fourier and Walsh transforms and their relation to sequences and Boolean functions Multi-output (vectorial) Boolean functions for substitution (S-) boxes in block ciphers, differential and nonlinearity characteristics Designs and (single or multi-output) Boolean functions Diffusion in block ciphers and Boolean functions Cryptanalyses of stream and block ciphers and their relation to discrete structures Combinatorics, coding, cryptography and sequences Finite fields (or Galois rings), coding, cryptography, and sequences Connections between sequences and abstract algebra Permutation and multivariate polynomials over finite fields and their use in cryptography Linear feedback shift registers, feedback with carry shift registers, and other sequence generators Correlation of sequences Complexity measures of sequences and multisequences Pseudo-randomness of sequences Shift register synthesis

Current Fungal Infection Reports

ISSN: 1936-3761eISSN: 1936-377X

This journal intends to provide clear, insightful, balanced contributions that review the most important, recently published clinical findings related to the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of fungal infections.

We accomplish this aim by appointing international authorities to serve as Section Editors in key subject areas, such as advances in diagnosis, current and emerging management approaches, and genomics and pathogenesis. Section Editors, in turn, select topics for which leading experts contribute comprehensive review articles that emphasize new developments and recently published papers of major importance, highlighted by annotated reference lists. Commentaries from well-known figures in the field are also provided, and an international Editorial Board reviews the annual table of contents, suggests articles of special interest to their country/region, and ensures that topics are current and include emerging research.

Ecohydrology

ISSN: 1936-0584eISSN: 1936-0592

Ecohydrology is an international journal publishing original scientific and review papers that aim to improve understanding of processes at the interface between ecology and hydrology and associated applications related to environmental management. Ecohydrology seeks to increase interdisciplinary insights by placing particular emphasis on interactions and associated feedbacks in both space and time between ecological systems and the hydrological cycle. Research contributions are solicited from disciplines focusing on the physical, ecological, biological, biogeochemical, geomorphological, drainage basin, mathematical and methodological aspects of ecohydrology. Research in both terrestrial and aquatic systems is of interest provided it explicitly links ecological systems and the hydrologic cycle; research such as aquatic ecological, channel engineering, or ecological or hydrological modelling is less appropriate for the journal unless it specifically addresses the criteria above. Manuscripts describing individual case studies are of interest in cases where broader insights are discussed beyond site- and species-specific results. The Journal also publishes research on new instrumentation and techniques if they describe truly new and significant advances in methodology that can be broadly applied to the ecohydrological understanding and management of environmental systems. Occasional special issues will be published that cover themes emergent from conferences, ecological and hydrological science societies and key research topics. Ecohydrology welcomes the submission of comment/reply on previously published papers. Such submissions should preferably be in the form of a short paper not exceeding 2000 words and relate to papers previously published in the Journal. All papers for Ecohydrology should be prepared in accordance with the notes for contributors.

Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology

ISSN: 1064-1297eISSN: 1936-2293

Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology publishes advances in translational and interdisciplinary research on psychopharmacology and drug abuse. The scope of research in these areas continues to expand and to benefit from collaborations across a broad range of disciplines, including behavioral science, brain imaging, genetics, neuroendocrinology, neuroscience, and pharmacology. One goal of the journal is to encourage increased attention to biologic factors that may influence both the pharmacodynamic and the pharmacokinetic effects of drugs. Recent research has shown the importance of examining the effects of sex and menstrual/estrous cycle phase on the effects of abused drugs, as well as responses to medications for the treatment of drug abuse and the alleviation of pain. The journal publishes original reports on the development and evaluation of new pharmacotherapies, the influence of genetics and hormones on responses to abused drugs and treatment medications, the pharmacological management of pain, and brain imaging studies of the neural correlates of drug effects. The journal will focus on clinical laboratory studies and controlled clinical medication trials as well as basic preclinical experiments on psychopharmacology and drug abuse. The journal also will include comprehensive and integrative reviews of advances in research on psychopharmacology. These reviews should provide a broad perspective on a particular area of research or trace the development of critical concepts and experimental approaches. Each year, the journal will recognize young investigators who are recipients of the Young Psychopharmacologist Award or the Best Dissertation Award, as well as midcareer and senior scientists who receive the Brady–Schuster Award from APA Division 28, Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse. Awardees will be invited to submit a review paper based on their award-winning research. The journal may occasionally publish innovations in psychopharmacology that report a novel method, measure, or result. Commentary on the nature and implications of the innovation may be invited. The overall goal is to provide a forum for innovative clinical and preclinical research that advances our understanding of the behavioral and biological determinants of the effects of drugs.
