The journal Geography and Natural Resources publishes information on research results in the field of geographical studies of nature, the economy, and the population. It provides ample coverage of the geographical aspects relating to solving major economic problems, with special emphasis on regional nature management and environmental protection, geographical forecasting, integral regional research developments, a modelling of natural processes, and on the advancement of mapping techniques. The journal publishes contributions on monitoring studies, geographical research abroad, as well as discussions on the theory of science.

The Holocene is a high impact, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to fundamental scientific research at the interface between the long Quaternary record and the natural and human-induced environmental processes operating at the Earth's surface today. The Holocene emphasizes environmental change over the last ca 11 500 years.

Since the scope is large, contributions should be of the highest quality. Some will convey important recommendations for environmental management and governance. Contributions that expand existing methodology in image analysis, spatial statistics and logic are welcome. We encourage 'Discussion' articles that stimulate dialogue between earth observation studies and managers in a statistically sound way and 'Review' articles that provide an overview of scientific developments in a particular scientific domain in recent years.

Papers addressing these topics in the context of the social fabric and economic constraints of developing countries are particularly welcome.

The journal is the successor of the former ITC Journal, and has been published by Elsevier since 2002.

The journal covers all aspects of mining and environmental technology relating to coal, oil sands, industrial minerals and metalliferous deposits. Environmental issues specially identified for coverage include: Environmental impact assessment and permitting; mining and processing technologies; waste management and waste minimization practices; mine site closure, decommissioning and reclamation; acid mine drainage. Mining issues to be covered include: Design of surface and underground mines (economics, geotechnical, production scheduling, ventilation); mine optimization and planning; mining geostatics, drilling and blasting technologies; material handling systems; mine equipment. The role of computers and micro-processor based technology are also covered. When it was founded, the International Journal of Speleology was divided into four sections: Botany-Microbiology, Zoology, Geology-Geomorphology and Abstract-News. After the first issue edited by G. Claus (USA) other two editors added: R. Husson (France) and G Nicholas (USA). Verlag von J. Kramer (Germany) printed the first two volumes; successively Swets & ZEITLINGER N.V. (The Netherlands) published it.Since 1972 R. Husson became Editor-in -chief with Br. G. Nicholas as Book & News Editor and nine volumes were issued in the period 1964 to 1977 when the very high cost of printing requested a radical change.In 1978 the IJS became the official journal of the Union International de Spéléologie and it was published in Italy where the printing cost was cheaper. R. Husson (Biospeleology), A.A. Cigna (Physical Speleology) and Br. G. Nicholas (Book & News) composed the Editorial Board.

The Journal of African Earth Sciences sees itself as the prime geological journal for all aspects of the geology of the African continent and the Middle East, and especially on the search for natural resources from these regions.This international interdisciplinary journal publishes high quality, peer-reviewed scientific papers on the geodynamics of the African and Arabian plates and their contained mobile belts, cratons and sedimentary basins; the crustal evolution, tectonics and structural geology of this region; economic geology of major mineral deposits and hydrocarbon resources; sedimentology, stratigraphy and palaeontology, petrology and mineralogy, geochemistry and isotope geology of Africa and the Middle East. Papers on applied geology should preferably be linked to such core geological disciplines and must be addressed to a more general geological readership. It is important to note that articles intended for submission to the Journal of African Earth Sciences must be of a wider African (or even international) context rather than purely local studies of limited scope, which should rather be addressed to national or local African-Middle Eastern journal forums. Journal of African Earth Sciences papers should appeal to a wide audience of geoscientists rather than being highly specialised technical papers.The journal is closely affiliated with the Geological Society of Africa and publishes the GSA Newsletter. The Journal of African Earth Sciences recently launched the "Geological Society of Africa Presidential Review" series of invited review articles written by acknowledged international experts, bringing together the latest earth science information for academic, applied geological and mining institutions on particular topics of wide interest.
