At the moment, the international shipbuilding market is extremely dynamic and unpredictable, so that the needs for certain types of ships (as well as their prices) are changing dramatically from one day to the next. This requires from the shipbuilders to follow the conditions on the shipbuilding market continuously, to anticipate the changes, and to make tremendous efforts in adjusting their production capacities to the anticipated changes. Such requirements can be satisfied only by a shipbuilding industry that has a flexible and dynamic management, a competent team of experts, a modern technology, a good cooperation with the domestic equipment and outfitting industry, and a strong financial backing by the state and by the powerful commercial banking institutions.

China Ocean Engineering integrates new research concepts, equipment, technology, materials and structures and other scientific advances within the field of estuarial, coastal, offshore, and deep water engineering with particular reference to developments. The Journal is concerned with all engineering aspects involved in the exploration and utilization of ocean resources. Topics regularly covered include research, design and construction of structures (including wharfs, dikes, breakwaters, platforms, mooring systems, etc.), instrumentation/testing (physical model and numerical model), wave dynamics, sedimentation, structural/stress analysis, soil mechanics, and material research. China Ocean Engineering is a publication of Chinese Ocean Engineering Society.

Coastal Engineering Journal is a peer-reviewed medium for the publication of research achievements and engineering practices in the fields of coastal, harbor and offshore engineering. The CEJ editors welcome original papers and comprehensive reviews on waves and currents, sediment motion and morphodynamics, as well as on structures and facilities. Reports on conceptual developments and predictive methods of environmental processes are also published. Topics also include hard and soft technologies related to coastal zone development, shore protection, and prevention or mitigation of coastal disasters. The journal is intended to cover not only fundamental studies on analytical models, numerical computation and laboratory experiments, but also results of field measurements and case studies of real projects.

Computational Mechanics reports original research in computational mechanics of enduring scholarly value. It focuses on areas that involve and enrich the rational application of mechanics, mathematics, and numerical methods in the practice of modern engineering. The journal investigates theoretical and computational methods and their rational applications. Areas covered include solid and structural mechanics, multi-body system dynamics, constitutive modeling, inelastic and finite deformation response, and structural control. The journal also covers fluid mechanics and fluid-structure interactions, biomechanics, free-surface and two-fluid flows, aerodynamics, fracture mechanics and structural integrity, multi-scale mechanics, particle and meshfree methods, transport phenomena, and heat transfer. Lastly, the journal publishes modern variational methods in mechanics in general.

The International Journal of Impact Engineering, established in 1983, has as its objective the publication of original research findings related to the response of structures, bodies and materials from the exposure to impact and blast events. Manuscripts that focus on parametric studies (e.g. using commercial software), unaccompanied by convincing validation and discussion of application of results generated, as well as papers on novel computational techniques without comparison with established methods or test data are also not solicited.Papers in the International Journal of Impact Engineering should generally be of interest to aeronautical engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, naval architects, nuclear engineers, ocean engineers, offshore engineers, transportation engineers and workers in other branches of engineering and science who are involved in various aspects of impact and blast loading.Companion papers Authors should aim at submitting manuscripts that can be reviewed on their own, without assuming that preceding or subsequent related manuscripts will be published.
