International Journal for Parasitology: Parasites and Wildlife

eISSN: 2213-2244
DOAJ Logo

The International Journal for Parasitology: Parasites and Wildlife (IJP-PAW) publishes the results of original research on parasites of all wildlife, invertebrate and vertebrate. This includes free-ranging, wild populations, as well as captive wildlife, semi-domesticated species (e.g. reindeer) and farmed populations of recently domesticated or wild-captured species (e.g. cultured fishes). Articles on all aspects of wildlife parasitology are welcomed including taxonomy, biodiversity and distribution, ecology and epidemiology, population biology and host-parasite relationships. The impact of parasites on the health and conservation of wildlife is seen as an important area covered by the journal especially the potential role of environmental factors, for example climate. Also important to the journal is 'one health' and the nature of interactions between wildlife, people and domestic animals, including disease emergence and zoonoses. The principal form of publication is the full-length article which contains substantial, original research. The journal also accepts brief reports that have similar subject scope as the full-length article, but do not merit a full-length publication. In addition, the journal commissions articles with emphasis on shorter, focused reviews of topical and emerging issues as well as strategically important subjects. The journal encourages critical comment and debate on matters of current controversy in the area of parasites and wildlife via "Current Opinions".This title is fully open access and therefore funded not through library subscription payments but through author fees. If you would like your article to be published open access, but you genuinely cannot afford these fees, then individual waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and may be granted in cases of genuine need. Priority for this waiver programme will be given to applications by authors from countries eligible for the Research4Life programme (see http://www.research4life.org/institutions.html).

International Journal of Environmental Studies

ISSN: 0020-7233eISSN: 1029-0400

For more than 30 years, the International Journal of Environmental Studies has been pre-eminent in its field. The environment is understood to comprise the natural and the man-made, and their interactions; including such matters as pollution, health effects, analytical methods, political approaches, social impacts etc. Papers favouring an interdisciplinary approach are preferred, because the evidence of 30 years appears to be that many intellectual tools and many causes and effects are at issue in any environmental problem - and its solution. This does not mean that a single focus or a narrow view is unwelcome; provided always that the evidence is indicated and the method is robust. Pragmatic decision-making and applicable policies are subjects of interest, together with the problems in establishing facts about dynamic systems where long periods of observation and precise measurement may be difficult to secure. In other words, a systems or holistic approach to the environment and a scientific analysis are complementary, and the distinction between 'hard' and 'soft' science is bridged in most of the papers published. These may be on any item in the agenda of environmental science: land, water, food, conservation, population, risk analysis, energy, economics of ecological and non-ecological approaches, social advocacy of arguments for change, legal measures, implications of urbanism, energy choices, waste disposal, recycling, transport systems and other issues of mass society. There is concern also for marginal areas, under-developed societies, minorities, species loss; and indeed no element of the subject of environmental studies, seen in an international and interactive mode, is excluded.Peer Review StatementAny paper offered to the International Journal of Environmental Studies will be assessed by peer review process.DisclaimerTaylor & Francis make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. International Journal of Sustainable Development and World Ecology

ISSN: 1350-4509eISSN: 1745-2627

The International Journal of Sustainable Development and World Ecology is now over fifteen years old and has proved to be an exciting forum for understanding and advancing our knowledge and implementation of sustainable development. Sustainable development is now of primary importance as the key to future use and management of finite world resources. It recognises the need for development opportunities while maintaining a balance between these and the environment. As stated by the UN Bruntland Commission in 1987, sustainable development should 'meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.' This is the primary focus of the journal, and is addressed by papers in environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and/or social and cultural sustainability. Environmental sustainability includes mitigating effects of climate change, minimising environmental degradation, and sustainable land management. Economic sustainability includes capacity-building, integrated decision making, industry and biotechnology, consumption and production. Social and cultural sustainability includes demographics, human settlements, international law, health and welfare. These three subject areas encompass the scope of the journal. They can be considered empirically, through case studies, as reviews, commentaries, rapid communications, or integrated studies in special issues of the journal. The journal is interdisciplinary and aims to examine topical and important issues and so provide stimulating and, at times, controversial reading. Our worldwide readership includes: * researchers, consultants, scientists and engineers * industry, business managers and policy makers * government (central and local) and non-governmental organisations Preparation of manuscripts should be in accordance with the Instructions for Authors.
