Chemical Speciation & Bioavailability

ISSN: 0954-2299eISSN: 2047-6523
DOAJ Logo

Chemical Speciation & Bioavailability (CS&B) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed forum for insights on the chemical aspects of occurrence, distribution, transport, transformation, transfer, fate, and effects of substances in the environment and biota, and their impacts on the uptake of the substances by living organisms. Substances of interests include both beneficial and toxic ones, especially nutrients, heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants, and emerging contaminants, such as engineered nanomaterials, as well as pharmaceuticals and personal-care products as pollutants. It is the aim of this Journal to develop an international community of experienced colleagues to promote the research, discussion, review, and spread of information on chemical speciation and bioavailability, which is a topic of interest to researchers in many disciplines, including environmental, chemical, biological, food, medical, toxicology, and health sciences.
Key themes in the scope of the Journal include, but are not limited to, the following “6Ms”:
  • Methods for speciation analysis and the evaluation of bioavailability, especially the development, validation, and application of novel methods and techniques.
  • Media that sustain the processes of release, distribution, transformation, and transfer of chemical speciation; of particular interest are emerging contaminants, such as engineered nanomaterials, pharmaceuticals, and personal-care products.
  • Mobility of substance species in environment and biota, either spatially or temporally.
  • Matters that influence the chemical speciation and bioavailability, mainly environmentally relevant conditions.
  • Mechanisms that govern the transport, transformation, transfer, and fate of chemical speciation in the environment, and the biouptake of substances.
  • Models for the simulation of chemical speciation and bioavailability, and for the prediction of toxicity.

Chemico-Biological Interactions: A journal of molecular, cellular and biochemical toxicology

ISSN: 0009-2797
Chemico-Biological Interactions publishes research reports and review articles that examine the molecular, cellular, and/or biochemical basis of toxicologically relevant outcomes. Special emphasis is placed on toxicological mechanisms associated with interactions between chemicals and biological systems. Outcomes may include all traditional endpoints caused by synthetic or naturally occurring chemicals, both in vivo and in vitro. Endpoints of interest include, but are not limited to carcinogenesis, mutagenesis, respiratory toxicology, neurotoxicology, reproductive and developmental toxicology, and immunotoxicology.

CBI discourages papers that are descriptive in nature and that do not address toxicological mechanisms (e.g., reports of toxicological effects following chemical exposure in absence of mechanistic experiments). CBI also discourages papers reporting on toxicological effects from materials, such as plant extracts or herbal medicines, that have not been chemically characterized.

Chinese Journal of Population Resources and Environment

ISSN: 1004-2857eISSN: 2325-4262

Chinese Journal of Population, Resources and Environment (CJPRE) is an international journal that publishes original research in the fields of economic, population, resource and environment studies as they pertain to sustainable development. More specifically, CJPRE aims to address and evaluate the field’s theoretical frameworks, capability building initiatives, strategic goals, ethical values, empirical research, methodologies and techniques.

Since the Rio Earth Summit in 1992, the field of sustainable development has developed rapidly. Although it remains an emerging field of research, it has proven influential and continues to provide new angles for understanding how current events may impact society.

While CJPRE originally focused on assessing Chinese advances in the field of sustainable development, the journal now looks toward sharing global developments from both developed and developing countries.

The journal welcomes manuscripts on:
  • sustainable development (economy, demography, strategy and policy, agriculture and industry, ecosystem management biodiversity),
  • natural resources (water, oceans and fisheries, atmosphere, forests),
  • energy (renewable consumption markets, efficiency), and
  • health (poverty eradication, water and sanitation, production, technology).
Peer review policy
All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.
