Plant Science will publish in the minimum of time, research manuscripts as well as commissioned reviews and commentaries recommended by its referees in all areas of experimental plant biology with emphasis in the broad areas of genomics, proteomics, biochemistry (including enzymology), physiology, cell biology, development, genetics, functional plant breeding, systems biology and the interaction of plants with the environment.Manuscripts for full consideration should be written concisely and essentially as a final report. The main criterion for publication is that the manuscript must contain original and significant insights that lead to a better understanding of fundamental plant biology. Papers centering on plant cell culture should be of interest to a wide audience and methods employed result in a substantial improvement over existing established techniques and approaches. Methods papers are welcome only when the technique(s) described is novel or provides a major advancement of established protocols.Plant Science is not a publication vehicle for preliminary observations, for studies that are merely confirmatory of results accomplished in other plant systems, or that are addressed only to a specialized readership. Submitted manuscripts describing studies of preliminary nature, that are merely confirmatory in scope or of limited scope and interest to the general readership of the journal will be returned without formal review. As a general policy, the journal will no longer consider manuscripts just describing the cloning, sequencing and expression patterns of gene sequences that have been identified and characterized in other plant species, expression of a protein without proper characterization of the recombinant product and native form, the isolation, purification and characterization of enzymes extensively analyzed in other plants, description of molecular markers and plant genetic diversity without any relevant biological information, cell culture and/or transformation of plant species (or closely related species) already established in the literature and basic transcriptomic approaches with no further relevant functional characterization of genes of interest.

Reliability Engineering and System Safety is an international journal devoted to the development and application of methods for the enhancement of the safety and reliability of complex technological systems, like nuclear power plants, chemical plants, hazardous waste facilities, space systems, offshore and maritime systems, transportation systems, constructed infrastructure and manufacturing plants. The journal normally publishes only articles that involve the analysis of substantive problems related to the reliability of complex systems or present techniques and/or theoretical results that have a discernable relationship to the solution of such problems. Research in Science Education is an international journal publishing and promoting scholarly science education research of interest to a wide group of people. The journal examines early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary, workplace, and informal learning as they relate to science education.

In publishing scholarly articles, RISE is looking for articulation of the principles and practices used by scholars to make valid claims about the world and their critique of such claims. Publishing such work is important as it makes these principles and practices known to the scholarly community so that they can be considered, debated, judged, and accepted, rejected or reframed. Importantly, these principles and practices must be constantly advancing in ways that allow our knowledge to advance within the field. In looking for works to publish, RISE will seek articles that advance our knowledge in science education research rather than reproducing what we already know.

Research can take many forms, quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods to name a few. RISE is interested in producing valid and trustworthy research that takes on a variety of forms and embraces new capabilities at hand, particularly around new technologies. Innovative practices and how these relate to science education will be at the forefront of our thinking in RISE.

Scholarly works of interest need to encompass the wide diversity of readership. RISE is the journal associated with the Australasian Science Education Research Association (ASERA), one of the oldest such association in the world. With ASERA’s history from a colonial western tradition, combined with its location within the highly productive and exciting Asian region, the membership of ASERA and the readership of RISE spans the globe and cultural perspectives. Hence, the scholarly works of interest published within RISE need to reflect this diversity. Additionally, they must also include a diversity of form. So, RISE will continue to review articles, editorials, book reviews, and other material deemed appropriate by the Editors.

Transplant Infectious Disease has been established as a forum for presenting the most current information on the prevention and treatment of infection complicating organ and bone marrow transplantation. The point of view of the journal is that infection and allograft rejection (or graft-versus-host disease) are closely intertwined, and that advances in one area will have immediate consequences on the other. The interaction of the transplant recipient with potential microbial invaders, the impact of immunosuppressive strategies on this interaction, and the effects of cytokines, growth factors, and chemokines liberated during the course of infections, rejection, or graft-versus-host disease are central to the interests and mission of this journal. Transplant Infectious Disease is aimed at disseminating the latest information relevant to the infectious disease complications of transplantation to clinicians and scientists involved in bone marrow, kidney, liver, heart, lung, intestinal, and pancreatic transplantation. The infectious disease consequences and concerns regarding innovative transplant strategies, from novel immunosuppressive agents to xenotransplantation, are very much a concern of this journal. In addition, this journal feels a particular responsibility to inform primary care practitioners in the community, who increasingly are sharing the responsibility for the care of these patients, of the special considerations regarding the prevention and treatment of infection in transplant recipients. Focus: Cognition, Technology & Work focuses on the practical issues of human interaction with technology within the context of work and, in particular, how human cognition affects, and is affected by, work and working conditions.

The aim is to publish research that normally resides on the borderline between people, technology, and organisations. Including how people use information technology, how experience and expertise develop through work, and how incidents and accidents are due to the interaction between individual, technical and organisational factors.

The Journal of Comparative Neurology is an interdisciplinary journal with systems neuroscience as its primary purview. Our focus is on neuronal communication within systems of neurons, and their relationship to function, development, plasticity, degeneration, and repair. The field is broadly defined and includes work that uses molecular, anatomical, physiological, pharmacological, and behavioral methods to investigate neuronal systems, but does not include papers that primarily address clinical aspects of neurology, neuropathology, psychiatry, or psychology. Work on all species from invertebrates to humans is welcome, but the emphasis should be on the way that species adaptations enlighten us about the function or organization of nervous systems, rather than on their evolution per se. The Journal of Comparative Neurology takes special care to provide the highest quality of image reproduction, and offers sufficient page space to document and describe the work completely. Only full-length investigative reports are desired; we do not accept short communications or papers that are focused on new methods.
