The transformation of biology from a descriptive, phenomenological discipline to one in which the regulatory principles are understood and predictably manipulated brings new opportunities to the study of cancer and the search for effective therapeutic modalities. Cancer and Metastasis Reviews offers a forum for critical review and discussion of these challenges.Each issue presents five to seven different contributions on a single theme or topic, with an introductory essay from a distinguished individual in the field. Special emphasis is placed on subjects of relevance to the molecular and cellular biology of cancer metastasis and tumor progression, as well as to the treatment of metastatic disease. Occasional issues will be devoted to an in-depth clinical and biological analysis of a particular type of cancer.The journal also reviews important recent developments in the biology and treatment of malignant disease, and highlights promising new directions.

Energy related problems are part of the major challenges for humanity in this century worldwide. In most countries energy is the first national priority. Energy Systems aims for mathematical programming, control, and economic approaches towards energy systems related topics. The topics covered include power systems optimization, unit commitment, power generation, power trading, electricity risk management, competition in electricity markets, bidding strategies as well as market power issues. Mathematical theory and algorithms for stochastic optimization methods applied to energy problems are also included as well as modeling issues such as process optimization, synthesis, design and operation. The papers published in the journal deal with theoretical, computational, and applied aspects of 'energy systems' as well as state of the art review papers.

Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine (EHPM), published bimonthly, is the official journal of the Japanese Society for Hygiene. The journal is devoted to the publication of definitive studies on human health sciences, including regular articles, short communications, and review articles. The journal brings a comprehensive approach to prevention and environmental health related to medical, biological, molecular biological, genetic, physical, psychosocial, chemical, and other environmental factors. EHPM provides comprehensive and unique information to a worldwide readership. A large number of eminent professors and researchers from all over the world serve as guest reviewers for EHPM. The European Journal of Neurology covers all areas of clinical and basic research in neurology. Emphasis is placed on major diseases or large clinical and socio-economic importance (dementia, stroke, epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and infectious diseases). The journal provides a forum for European activity in clinical neuroscience and medical practice and help strengthen the links between research workers and clinicians in Europe and other parts of the world. In addition to original papers, the journal publishes frequent review and update papers, letters to the editor, book reviews, reports and news. Important articles can be fast-tracked. The European Journal of Nutrition publishes original papers, reviews, and short communications in the nutritional sciences. The manuscripts submitted to the European Journal of Nutrition should have their major focus on the impact of nutrients and non-nutrients on immunology and inflammation, gene expression, metabolism, chronic diseases, or carcinogenesis, or a major focus on epidemiology, including intervention studies with healthy subjects and with patients, food safety, or biofunctionality of food and food components. Papers with a major focus on traditional medicine or food technology will not be accepted. Nor will case studies be accepted. Letters to the editors may be submitted. Letters are expected to provide substantive comments on papers published in the EJN. Both the letter and a reply, if appropriate, are published together whenever possible. Experiments in Fluids examines the advancement, extension, and improvement of new techniques of flow measurement. The development of new anticancer agents is one of the most rapidly changing aspects of cancer research. Investigational New Drugs provides a forum for the rapid dissemination of information on new anticancer agents. The papers published are of interest to the medical chemist, toxicologist, pharmacist, pharmacologist, biostatistician and clinical oncologist. Investigational New Drugs provides the fastest possible publication of new discoveries and results for the whole community of scientists developing anticancer agents.

Each issue contains original articles dealing with anticancer drug development. Other sections are devoted to invited review articles and letters to the editor. The journal also affords the opportunity to publish the proceedings of special workshops and symposia devoted to the development of new anticancer agents. Provided they add to the understanding of the investigational agents, the journal is not adverse to publishing clinical trials with negative results.

Journal of Cloud Computing: Advances, Systems and Applications (JoCCASA) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen. It publishes research spanning all aspects of Cloud Computing. Principally focused on core elements, including Cloud applications, Cloud systems and the advances that will lead to the Clouds of the future, the journal will also present review and survey papers that offer up new insights, and lay the foundations for further exploratory and experimental work.

The journal disseminates research that imparts advanced theoretical grounding and practical application of Clouds and related systems, as enabled by combinations of internet-based software, development stacks and database availability, and virtualized hardware for storing, processing, analysis and visualizing data. Coverage will examine Clouds alongside such other paradigms as Peer to Peer (P2P) computing, Cluster computing and Grid computing. Coverage extends to issues of management, governance, trust and privacy, and interoperability of Clouds.

The Journal of Computational Neuroscience provides a forum for papers that fit the interface between computational and experimental work in the neurosciences. The Journal of Computational Neuroscience publishes full length original papers, rapid communications and review articles describing theoretical and experimental work relevant to computations in the brain and nervous system. Papers that combine theoretical and experimental work are especially encouraged. Primarily, theoretical papers should deal with issues of obvious relevance to biological nervous systems. Experimental papers should have implications for the computational function of the nervous system, and may report results using any of a variety of approaches including anatomy, electrophysiology, biophysics, imaging, and molecular biology. Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery aims to reflect the state of the art in cutaneous biology and dermatology by providing original scientific writings, as well as a complete critical review of the dermatology literature for clinicians, trainees, and academicians. The journal endeavours to bring readers cutting edge dermatologic information in two distinct formats. Part of each issue features scholarly research and articles on issues of basic and applied science, insightful case reports, comprehensive continuing medical education, and in depth reviews, all of which provide theoretical framework for practitioners to make sound practical decisions. MOLECULAR AND DEVELOPMENTAL EVOLUTION (MDE) welcomes papers that contribute to a causal understanding of the evolution of development and how development influences patterns of molecular and phenotypic evolution. Papers that take diverse disciplinary approaches, including developmental, molecular, genetic, evolutionary, systematic, ecological, and paleontological, will be published. MDE seeks research articles without page restriction or charges, review articles, invited commentaries, and book reviews. The Journal of Molecular Histology publishes 6 times a year full-length original research papers, review articles, short communications and letters to the editors. Coverage includes studies describing novel cellular or ultrastructural distributions of molecules which provide insight into biochemical or physiological function, development, histological structure and disease processes. The Journal of Orthoptera Research (JOR) is the open access, peer-reviewed journal of the Orthopterists’ Society. JOR publishes work on the insect order Orthoptera and its allies, Blattodea, Mantodea, Phasmatodea, Grylloblattodea, Mantophasmatodea and Dermaptera. Its goal is the dissemination of ideas and insights arising from the study of these insects. Papers published cover a range of biological studies of these insects including their diversity, conservation, and the control and management of pest species. Acceptable studies fall within the disciplines of cytology, biological control, morphology, physiology, parasitology, endocrinology, behavior, ecology, systematics, biogeography and taxonomy. The journal encourages comprehensive and synthetic papers and those utilizing modern techniques. Case studies of interesting phenomena are also appropriate, as long as they are contextualized in terms of their significance to orthopterology and entomology in general. Alongside original research, JOR also publishes review articles, short communications, and articles focusing on policy and management of Orthoptera. Two issues are printed annually, and members of the Orthopterists’ Society publish free (excluding color signature fees for images to be printed in color).
