The Art Bulletin publishes leading scholarship in the English language in all aspects of art history as practiced in the academy, museums, and other institutions. From its founding in 1913, the journal has published, through rigorous peer review, scholarly articles and critical reviews of the highest quality in all areas and periods of the history of art. Articles take a variety of methodological approaches, from the historical to the theoretical. In its mission as a journal of record, The Art Bulletin fosters an intensive engagement with intellectual developments and debates in contemporary art-historical practice. It is published four times a year: in March, June, September, and December.The journal is archived in JSTOR and indexed in Bibliography of the History of Art, Art Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index. TCA publishes papers in all fields of theoretical chemistry, computational chemistry, and modeling. Fundamental studies as well as applications are included in the scope. In many cases, theorists and computational chemists have special concerns which reach either across the vertical borders of the special disciplines in chemistry or else across the horizontal borders of structure, spectra, synthesis, and dynamics. TCA is especially interested in papers that impact upon multiple chemical disciplines. TCA was founded in 1962 specifically to provide theoretical chemists with a high-quality, peer reviewed communication medium for their work. The TCA Letters section guarantees review of manuscripts submitted for the Letters section within four weeks of their receipt to meet the need for rapid publication. Translational Stroke Research covers basic, translational, and clinical studies. The Journal emphasizes novel approaches in order to help translate scientific discoveries from basic stroke research into the development of new strategies for prevention, assessment, treatment, and repair after stroke and other forms of neurotrauma. Translational Stroke Research focuses on translational research and is relevant to both basic scientists and physicians, including but not restricted to neuroscientists, vascular biologists, neurologists, neuroimagers, and neurosurgeons. The Journal provides an interactive forum for the dissemination of original research articles, review articles, research reports, letters, comments, and research protocols, in stroke and stroke related areas. Vegetation History and Archaeobotany publishes research papers, review articles and short contributions of high quality from Europe, the Americas and around the world. It covers the entire field of vegetation history, exploring the development of flora and vegetation during the Holocene (and also the Pleistocene) era, and includes related subjects such as palaeoecology. The journal places interest on human impact upon the natural environment in prehistoric and medieval times. This is reflected in pollen diagrams as well as in plant macroremains from archaeological contexts. Recent topics have included vegetation, fire and climate dynamics as indicated by pollen and charcoal analysis; preliminary results from a dendroecological study of a sub-fossil pine woodland in NW Germany; the significance of low pollen accumulation rates in estimation tree population, and more. Environmental Communication: A Journal of Nature and Culture publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarship that examines theories, practices, and processes of communication as they relate to the environment around the world. As such, the journal serves as a nexus, a place of global connection and conversation, among scholars working in and across a variety of disciplines who explore how humans communicate about and within both natural and cultural environments. The journal also seeks to promote interaction between academic scholars and those who practice environmental communication, including community members, industry professionals, government officials, and others, through a number of special features, including a regularly published section devoted to practice. The journal is grounded in two theoretical and practical commitments: 1) symbolic and natural systems are mutually constituted, and 2) effective engagement with environmental issues requires reflection on communication practices and processes. Consistent with those commitments, the journal will promote the following goals: * Develop theoretical concepts, models, or formulations that uniquely explain or illuminate the material and symbolic dimensions of human interfaces with the non-human life world. In June 1941, during the Second World War, the journal had to change its title to Cadmos, due to the restrictions of the fascist regime which banned any foreign reference and terminology from Italian language. As a consequence of the War the print run decreased to 6500 copies. Although efforts were made to continue publication of the journal, by the end of the year the editorial office had to move to the neutral Republic of San Marino and the journal's title changed to Dental Cosmos, picking up the name of an historical American dentistry journal. In 1945 the journal's publication returned to Italy and its title was finally changed to Dental Cadmos (as a combination of Kadmos and Dental Cosmos). Dental Cadmos has always focused on professional development and continuing education, providing highlights in clinical practice, research and developments in the field of dental science. Throughout the years the journal became a main point of reference in dentistry. In the early 80s Dental Cadmos was the first dentistry journal to provide programs on continuing medical education by introducing a complete and didactic-type review article (Dossier) analyzing in details the state of the art of a particular topic in dentistry and involving the readers with specific questionnaires to test their comprehension and knowledge of the presented topic. With 15000 certified copies per issue it is probably the best known and appreciated Italian journal in its category. Dental Cadmos used to be indexed in MEDLINE until the early 90s and is currently indexed in Scopus and Embase. Dental Cadmos is a publication addressed to clinicians, scientists and students of dentistry and is mainly distributed in Italy.Aims and Scope: Dental Cadmos currently acknowledges the contribution of the most important authors and researchers in the country and can proudly ensure the coverage of all diverse topics in dentistry by dedicating particular attention to high standards studies.The editorial structure of the journal allows readers to find complete and diverse coverage of topics in dentistry including: management of dental disease, long-term clinical trials, evaluation of dental equipment, new experimental techniques, epidemiology and oral health, dental biomaterials science, restorative dentistry, periodontology, endodontology, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics, dental education and forensic dentistry. The Journal of Biomedical Informatics (formerly Computers and Biomedical Research) has been designed to reflect a commitment to high-quality original research papers, reviews, and commentaries in the area of biomedical informatics. Although we publish articles motivated by applications in the biomedical sciences (for example, clinical medicine, health care, population health, imaging, and translational bioinformatics), the journal emphasizes reports of new methodologies and techniques that have general applicability and that form the basis for the evolving science of biomedical informatics. Articles on medical devices; evaluations of implemented systems (including clinical trials of information technologies); or papers that provide insight into a biological process, a specific disease, or treatment options would generally be more suitable for publication in other venues. Papers on applications of signal processing and image analysis are often more suitable for biomedical engineering journals, although we do publish papers that emphasize the information management and knowledge representation/modeling issues that arise in the storage and use of biological signals and images. System descriptions are welcome if they illustrate and substantiate the underlying methodology that is the principal focus of the report and an effort is made to address the generalizability and/or range of application of that methodology.The methods that are the focus of JBI papers may be drawn from any of a number of component sciences in the field of biomedical informatics. Although the methods are often related to the field of computer science, many JBI papers will emphasize innovative techniques from other fields, such as decision science, statistics, cognitive science, psychology, information science, or management science.

Criminal Behaviour & Mental Health - CBMH - aims to publish original material on any aspect of the relationship between mental state and criminal behaviour. Thus, we are interested in mental mechanisms associated with offending, regardless of whether the individual concerned has a mental disorder or not. We are interested in factors that influence such relationships, and particularly welcome studies about pathways into and out of crime. These will include studies of normal and abnormal development, of mental disorder and how that may lead to offending for a subgroup of sufferers, together with information about factors which mediate such a relationship. We are particularly keen to attract treatment studies and studies evaluating the impact of a range of interventions and new services designed to increase public safety as well as the safety and well-being of the perpetrators of crime and their victims. CBMH welcomes a wide range of methodologies and formats. Both qualitative and quantitative research is welcomed, from both laboratory and field conditions, as are systematic reviews. Case histories are not excluded, but have to be presented with the same theoretical and methodological rigour as any other research considered acceptable for publication. Potential authors are referred to the guidance for authors for further information about requirements on length, style, format and ethical issues. CBMH should be of interest to clinical and non-clinical practitioners working with offenders with and without identified mental disorder. University students and researchers in clinical disciplines and in non-clinical disciplines such as criminology and law should find the material particularly useful. CBMH would also be useful for policy makers and government departments.

Modelling and Simulation in Engineering aims at providing a forum for the discussion of formalisms, methodologies and simulation tools that are intended to support the new, broader interpretation of Engineering. Competitive pressures of Global Economy have had a profound effect on the manufacturing in Europe, Japan and the USA with much of the production being outsourced. La revista Universitas Psychologica tiene un amplio y diverso espectro tema´tico y teo´rico. Es una publicacio´n de cara´cter general y plural en la medida en que incluye trabajos de los diversos enfoques de la psicologi´a. En ella sus lectores pueden encontrar una muestra actualizada del rico y variado panorama de la psicologi´a, tanto en el a´mbito internacional y nacional, como de los productos de nuestra Facultad. Asi´ mismo tiene una seccio´n de resen~as de libros. Esta publicacio´n semestral cuenta con un comite´ editorial nacional e internacional, encargado de la evaluacio´n y el arbitraje de los arti´culos. Hasta la fecha se han publicado cuatro nu´meros. Its values can be seen in what are sought out as facts and made as artefacts, what are designed as processes and products, and what are forged as weapons and filmed as wonders. In our daily experience, power is exercised through expertise, e.g. in science, technology and medicine. Science as Culture explores how all these shape the values which contend for influence over the wider society.Science mediates our cultural experience. It increasingly defines what it is to be a person, through genetics, medicine and information technology. Its values get embodied and naturalized in concepts, techniques, research priorities, gadgets and advertising. Many films, artworks and novels express popular concerns about these developments.In a society where icons of progress are drawn from science, technology and medicine, they are either celebrated or demonised. Often their progress is feared as 'unnatural', while their critics are labelled 'irrational'. Public concerns are rebuffed by ostensibly value-neutral experts and positivist polemics.Yet the culture of science is open to study like any other culture. Cultural studies analyses the role of expertise throughout society. Many journals address the history, philosophy and social studies of science, its popularisation, and the public understanding of society.Amidst these journals, Science as Culture is 'the only source of critique of the way science is going', as one of our readers put it. Not simply criticism, critique analyses the underlying frameworks, assumptions and terms of reference. It emphasizes the fundamental role of values, interests, ideology and purposes -- which would otherwise remain hidden in the guise of neutrality and objectivity. Science as Culture places science within the wider debate on the values which constitute culture; it is not the journal for a particular academic discipline.Science as Culture encompasses people's experiences -- at the workplace, the cinema, the computer, the hospital, the home and the academy. The articles are readable, attractive, lively, often humorous, and always jargon-free. Science as Culture aims to be read at leisure, and to be a pleasure. The Journal for the History of Knowledge is an open access, peer-reviewed journal devoted to the history of knowledge in its broadest sense. This includes the study of science, but also of indigenous, artisanal, and other types of knowledge as well as the history of knowledge developed in the humanities and social sciences. Special attention is paid to interactions and processes of demarcation between science and other forms of knowledge. Contributions may deal with the history of concepts of knowledge, the study of knowledge making practices and institutions and sites of knowledge production, adjudication, and legitimation (including universities). Contributions which highlight the relevance of the history of knowledge to current policy concerns (for example, by historicizing and problematizing concepts such as the "knowledge society") are particularly welcome.

JHoK is affiliated with Gewina, the Belgian-Dutch Society for History of Science and Universities. It is supported by the Descartes Centre for the History and Philosophy of the Sciences and the Humanities, Huygens Institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Vossius Centre for the History of Humanities and Sciences, and the Stevin Centre for History of Science and Humanities.

The journal is explicitly global in scope. It offers a platform for publications that concern western and non-western cases, that compare western and non-western knowledge making practices or that show the connections between concepts and practices of knowledge in different parts of the globe.

Its time-span is antiquity to the present.

Das 'Journal für Mathematik-Didaktik' (JMD) publiziert Originalbeiträge aus allen Bereichen mathematikdidaktischer Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeit. Eingereichte Texte werden in der Regel von drei anonym bleibenden Fachgutachtern bewertet, die das Herausgebergremium des JMD benennt. Das Herausgebergremium entscheidet aufgrund der Gutachten und eigener Fachkompetenz über das weitere Vorgehen (wie Ablehnung, eventuelle Änderungsauflagen und/oder den Abdruck des Textes im JMD). The Journal of Economic Issues is an internationally respected journal of institutional and evolutionary economics and serves as the official journal of the Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE). JEI publishes articles that describe aspects of evolving economies, economic problems, economic policy, economic history, and methodology.The primary mission of JEI is to present articles that use and develop the core ideas of institutional economics in discussions of current economic problems and policy alternatives.
