The Journal of Environmental Policy & Planning is an international journal that provides a forum for the critical analysis of environmental policy and planning. It explores the environmental dimensions of common policies such as transport, agriculture and fisheries, urban and rural policy, all stages in the policy and planning processes from formulation to implementation, and the interactions between governments and markets, the strategies of non-governmental organizations and business in relation to the environment, and land-use decision-making. The journal invites original papers from a political, social, economic, geographical, legal, cultural, and planning perspective to address any of the following areas: * Theoretical studies that enhance the understanding of the environmental policy process; * Analyses of environmental governance at different spatial levels; * Research into particular environmental problems, on a global, regional or local scale; * Contributions on policy instruments, environmental management and environmental and sustainability assessment techniques; * Comparative studies and evaluations of cross-national learning and policy development. The journal is keen to promote inter-disciplinary social science perspectives on both the theory and methodology for analyzing contemporary environmental issues. The editorial policy of the Journal pursues the multi-disciplinary aims of the College: to promote the highest standards of scientific study and scholarship in respect of the following fields: (a) natural sciences of sport; (b) social and behavioural sciences and humanities (c) sports medicine; and (d) sport itself. The Journal also aims to facilitate and enhance communication across all sub-disciplines of the sport sciences. The International Journal of Early Childhood aims to bring the global early childhood community together and to facilitate the interchange of ideas and information. Its purpose is to contribute to an international and critical scientific debate about research and practice in the field of early childhood with an emphasis on children's rights and general position in society and their education all over the world. Recently re-launched by BRILL, The Soviet and Post-Soviet Review is a peer-reviewed journal which focuses on the history of the Soviet Union and its successor states, including but not limited to the Russian Federation. The journal welcomes original, scholarly submissions in the form of articles, essays, and book reviews relating to Soviet and post-Soviet history, particularly the realms of social, environmental, and cultural history. Authors are requested to submit material for consideration in English, although Russian language submissions will also be considered.

Adoption Quarterly is an unparalleled forum for examining the issues of child care, of adoption as viewed from a lifespan perspective, and of the psychological and social meanings of the word "family." This international, multidisciplinary journal features conceptual and empirical work, commentaries, and book reviews from the fields of the social sciences, humanities, biological sciences, law, and social policy. Language Learning Journal (LLJ) provides a forum for scholarly contributions on current aspects of foreign language and teaching. LLJ is an international, peer-reviewed journal that is intended for an international readership, including foreign language teachers, language teacher educators, researchers and policy makers. Contributions, in English, tend to assume a certain range of target languages. Planning Theory & Practice provides an international focus for the development of theory and practice in spatial planning and a forum to promote the policy dimensions of space and place. Published in conjunction with the Royal Town Planning Institute, London, it publishes original articles and review papers from both academics and practitioners with the aim of encouraging more effective, two-way communication between theory and practice. Regional Studies is a leading international journal in theoretical development, empirical analysis and policy debate in the multi- and inter-disciplinary field of regional studies. Both qualitative and quantitative studies are welcomed, as are studies that test theories about women as victims, professionals and offenders. Women & Criminal Justice periodically presents commentaries where authors exchange ideas and discuss methodological issues and present reports of ongoing research and research findings. A summary of the laws and court cases that pertain to women will also be presented. Special thematic issues have covered such topics as the criminalization of a woman's body and women and domestic violence; a special theme on human trafficking is currently in process. If manuscripts are given a revise and resubmit status, then there is editorial screening and a second review by the anonymous reviewers. If a manuscript is given a qualified acceptance (accept with minor changes), then there is editorial screening to ensure that the changes were made before acceptance.

Human Rights Review is an interdisciplinary journal which provides a scholarly forum in which human rights issues and their underlying empirical, theoretical and philosophical foundations are explored. The journal seeks to place human rights practices and policies within a theoretical perspective in order to link empirical research to broader human rights issues. Human Rights Review welcomes submissions from all academic areas in order to foster a wide-ranging dialogue on issues of concern to both the academic and the policy-making communities.
