Ecosystem Services, associated with the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP), is an international, interdisciplinary journal that deals with the science, policy and practice of Ecosystem Services in the following disciplines: ecology and economics, institutions, planning and decision making, economic sectors such as agriculture, forestry and outdoor recreation, and all types of ecosystems.The aims of the journal are:(1) To improve our understanding of the dynamics, benefits and social and economic values of ecosystem services, (2) To provide insight in the consequences of policies and management for ecosystem services with special attention to sustainability issues, (3) To create a scientific interface to policymakers in the field of ecosystem services assessment and practice, and(4) To integrate the fragmented knowledge about ecosystem services, synergies and trade-offs, currently found in a wide field of specialist disciplines and journals.Manuscripts should always address ecosystem services and deal with at least one of the following themes:(a) The link between ecosystem services and social and economic benefits and associated values, including monetary values; i.e. what is the role of ecosystem services in providing and sustaining benefits for humans and how are these benefits and values perceived by public and policy makers? (b) The link between the levels of ecosystem services and economic, environmental and land use policies and practices; i.e. how is (the sustainability of) ecosystem services in natural, agricultural and urban systems affected by these policies and what are the trade-offs in service provision, and subsequent benefits and economic values, between different policy schemes?(c) The link between government and business strategies and the sustainability of ecosystem services, i.e. the use of ecosystem services in PES arrangements, biodiversity-offset programs and multiple service land use planning.Articles may address these topics from different (paradigmatic) perspectives, including basic research, integrated assessment approaches and (ex ante and ex post) policy evaluations. They may be inter-disciplinary or draw from specialized fields within economic, ecological, social and political sciences. Intereconomics publishes papers dealing with economic and social policy issues in Europe respectively in Euroland. The journal consists of the sections editorial, forum and articles. The editorial section contains brief comments on current questions of economic policy in Europe or effecting Europe. In the forum, several authors (researchers, politicians, representatives of trade unions and of employers associations etc.) voice their opinions on one particular current economic policy problem effecting Europe. Metascience is a review journal which publishes high quality, comprehensive reviews of books in the fields of history and philosophy of science and science and technology studies.Metascience specialises in innovative styles of reviewing, including book symposia, essay reviews, survey reviews and standard reviews. It is the aim of Metascience to have the widest possible coverage. The SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems (SIADS) publishes research articles on the mathematical analysis and modeling of dynamical systems and its application to the physical, engineering, life, and social sciences. SIADS is published in electronic format only. Ethnopolitics is an authoritative peer-reviewed journal which provides a forum for serious debate and exchange on one of the phenomena that had a decisive impact during the last decades of the 20th century and continues to be of great importance in the new millennium. The journal gives a voice to established as well as younger researchers and analysts from academic as well as practitioner backgrounds. We publish original articles of the highest quality in the field of ethnopolitics: our section 'Briefings and Analysis' in particular offers such articles with a specific focus on current events and developments. The 'Symposium' section provides a forum for engagement and discussion on issues that are of fundamental importance for theoretical and policy debates in our areas of interest. Ethnopolitics maintains a fair balance between theoretical analyses and case studies both of comparative as well as singular nature, covering all geographic areas. The major focus is on the analysis, management, settlement, and prevention of ethnic conflicts, on minority rights, group identity, the intersection of identity group formations and politics, on minority and majority nationalisms in the context of transitions to democracy, and on the security and stability of states and regions as they are affected by any of the above issues.
