European Planning Studies provides a forum for ideas and information about spatial development processes and policies in Europe. The journal publishes articles of a theoretical, empirical and policy-relevant nature and is particularly concerned to integrate knowledge of processes with practical policy proposals, implementation and evaluation. Articles of particular interest to the journal focus upon specific spatial development problems, as well as emerging explanations of new urban, regional, national or supranational developmental tendencies. Country-specific, region-specific or locality-specific issues are focused upon, although comparative analysis is of especial value. Case studies of successful spatial policies and critiques of policy failure based on in-depth study are both welcomed. A key feature of the journal is to generalize learning about best practice analysis and policy-formulation in the field of spatial development planning. Additionally, European Planning Studies features articles which focus on the functional dimensions of planning, such as infrastructure, communications, environmental quality, design, cultural, social welfare, recreational, housing, industrial and employment concerns of planning at whatever spatial scale. Articles which are concerned with these questions in an appropriate spatial context, given the scope of the journal, are of special interest. The journal also carries European Briefing, Research Briefing and Book Reviews sections. European Planning Studies is published in cooperation with the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP), an independent body of professional planning educators with a membership of over 100 planning schools throughout Western and Eastern Europe. The Journal of Applied Biomechanics (JAB), formerly known as the International Journal of Sport Biomechanics, accepts articles that pertain to the applied aspects of human biomechanics in sport, exercise, and rehabilitation. Studies of importance in theory development are also considered. Research examining the effect and control of forces that act on and are produced by the human body is encouraged. Similarly, studies related to modeling and human movement simulation and to the effects of internal and external forces on body structures during skill development and rehabilitation are appropriate for JAB. Equal consideration will be given to studies involving participants of all levels of ability or disability.The Journal of Applied Biomechanics publishes original research reports, invited review papers, and “target” articles on selected current issues in the field. It also contains book reviews, technical notes, an editorial section, and other special features. Individuals are invited to submit manuscripts to any of the journal’s sections. The Journal of Applied Ichthyology publishes articles of international repute on ichthyology, aquaculture, and marine fisheries; ichthyopathology and ichthyoimmunology; environmental toxicology using fishes as test organisms; basic research on fishery management; and aspects of integrated coastal zone management in relation to fisheries and aquaculture. The Journal of Clinical Ultrasound (JCU) is an international journal dedicated to the worldwide dissemination of scientific information on diagnostic and therapeutic applications of medical sonography. The scope of the journal includes--but is not limited to--the following areas: sonography of the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary tract, vascular system, nervous system, head and neck, chest, breast, musculoskeletal system, and other superficial structures; Doppler applications; obstetric and pediatric applications; and interventional sonography. Environmental Archaeology: The Journal of Human Palaeoecology aims to publish contributions on all aspects of environmental archaeology, from methodology to synthesis and theory. Environmental Archaeology is an international peer-reviewed periodical which welcomes contributions that consider the interaction between humans and their environment in the archaeological and historical past. This broad scope embraces papers covering a range of environmental specialisms within archaeology, such as archaeobotany, archaeozoology (both vertebrate and invertebrate), palynology, geoarchaeology, biological anthropology, as well as more synthetic and theoretical approaches to the past human environment. Assemblage and site reports are not encouraged unless these can demonstrate significant new insights in environmental archaeology. Biocatalysis and Biotransformation is an international journal covering the application, both actual and potential, of biological catalysts (including whole cells or isolated components thereof, natural and modified enzymes and catalytic antibodies) for the synthesis, interconversion or degradation of chemical species.
