Journal Guide

Sociocultural Pragmatics (SOPRAG) is a biannual publication that encourages the international dissemination of research results on theoretical and applied linguistics, focusing on social and cultural aspects of the Spanish language in all its forms and expressions. SOPRAG publishes high-quality papers that are useful to establish the interdependence between pragmatic, social, and cultural aspects of the Spanish language and its relations with other languages. SOPRAG welcomes manuscripts with thematic, theoretical, empirical, and terminological aspects in the area of Pragmatics, with an emphasis on sociocultural perspectives. SOPRAG accepts original papers preferably written in Spanish, but will consider manuscripts written in other Romance languages and English.

Sociocultural Pragmatics (SOPRAG) is published in two issues, 500-page volume per year, in print and electronic formats, with a peer, double-blind, review process. The electronic format of the journal is entirely open access, without authorship charges or readership embargoes. SOPRAG is internationally indexed in databases such as EBSCO, SCOPUS, and MLA, among many others.

Southeastern Archaeology is a refereed journal that publishes works concerning the archaeology and history of southeastern North America and neighboring regions. It covers all time periods, from Paleoindian to recent history and defines the southeast broadly; this could be anything from Florida (south) to Wisconsin (North) and from Oklahoma (west) to Virginia (east). Reports or articles that cover neighboring regions such as the Northeast, Plains, or Caribbean would be considered if they had sufficient relevance.

Papers need not have been presented at a meeting of the Southeastern Archaeological Conference in order to be considered for publication. The Journal publishes:

·  Articles of a theoretical nature that provide novel insights into a significant
   question or issue of interest to a wide professional readership.

·  Review articles such as updated regional or topical summaries that are also
   designed to appeal to a fairly wide professional readership. 

·  Technical and methodological reports that are of regional significance, and that
   would be comprehensible to most readers.

·  Field reports whose results in terms of interpretive content seem clearly to be of
   regional interest.

Stat is an innovative electronic journal for the rapid publication of novel and topical research results, publishing compact articles of the highest quality in all areas of statistical endeavour. Its purpose is to provide a means of rapid sharing of important new theoretical, methodological and applied research. Stat is a joint venture between the International Statistical Institute and Wiley-Blackwell.

Stat is characterised by:

• Speed - a single-pass, high-quality review process that aims to publish within 30 days of submission. There is no revision cycle.
• Concision - a maximum article length of 10 pages of text, not including references.
• Supporting materials - inclusion of electronic supporting materials including graphs, video, software, data and images.
• Scope – addresses all areas of statistics and interdisciplinary areas

Stat is a scientific journal for the international community of statisticians and researchers and practitioners in allied quantitative disciplines.

Studies in Philosophy and Education is an international peer-reviewed journal that focuses on philosophical, theoretical, normative and conceptual problems and issues in educational research, policy and practice. Without adopting any one philosophical or theoretical school or cultural tradition, the journal promotes exchange and collaboration among philosophers, philosophers of education, educational and social science researchers, and educational policy makers throughout the world. Coverage ranges widely from important methodological issues in educational research as shaped by the philosophy of science to educational policy problems as shaped by moral and social and political philosophy and educational theory. Single issues of the journal are occasionally devoted to the critical discussion of a special topic of educational and philosophical importance. A frequent 'Reviews and Rejoinders' section features book review essays with replies from the authors.

Surface Science Reports contains invited review papers on experimental and theoretical studies in the physics, chemistry and pioneering applications of surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures. It covers topics which contribute to a better understanding of basic phenomena occurring on surfaces and interfaces, but also the application of this knowledge to the development of materials, processes and devices. "Surfaces" is defined in this journal to include all interfaces between solids, liquids, polymers, biomaterials, nanostructures, soft matter, gases and/or vacuum. The journal also contains reviews of experimental techniques and methods used to characterize surfaces and surface processes, e.g. those based upon the interactions of photons, electrons and ions with surfaces.

Systems Biology in Reproductive Medicine, SBiRM, publishes Research Articles, Communications, Applications Notes that include protocols a Clinical Corner that includes case reports, Review Articles and Hypotheses and Letters to the Editor on human and animal reproduction. The journal will highlight the use of systems approaches including genomic, cellular, proteomic, metabolomic, bioinformatic, molecular, and biochemical, to address fundamental questions in reproductive biology, reproductive medicine, and translational research. The journal publishes research involving human and animal gametes, stem cells, developmental biology and toxicology, and clinical care in reproductive medicine. Specific areas of interest to the journal include: male factor infertility and germ cell biology, reproductive technologies (gamete micro-manipulation and cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization/embryo transfer (IVF/ET) and contraception. Research that is directed towards developing new or enhanced technologies for clinical medicine or scientific research in reproduction is of significant interest to the Journal.

The Australian Educational Researcher (AER) promotes understanding of educational issues through publication of original research and scholarly essays. The journal includes contributions from local and international researchers, representing a variety of relevant disciplinary perspectives.AER provides a forum for education researchers to debate current problems and issues.Contents include book reviews, scholarly essays, original quantitative and qualitative research and papers that are methodologically or theoretically innovative.AER welcomes contributions from a variety of disciplinary perspectives on any level of education.Special Issue ProposalsAustralian Educational ResearcherThe AER will publish occasional special issues to a maximum one per annum. It is expected that the guest editor(s) of the special issue submit a proposal to the Managing Editor who will then send it out to review to the Editorial Board.  The criteria upon which it will be judged are whether the issue addresses contemporary concerns

The Biological Bulletin publishes outstanding experimental research in the areas of invertebrate neurobiology, comparative aspects of developmental biology, functional morphology and biomechanics, and aspects of comparative physiology and physiological ecology, such as symbiosis. It publishes peer-reviewed research papers, rapid communications, position papers, and invited review articles and symposia, six times a year.Published since 1897 by the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, The Biological Bulletin is one of America’s oldest peer-reviewed scientific journals. The International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging publishes basic and clinical communications (research articles, review articles, technical notes and editorial comments) dealing with the design, development and evaluation of imaging methods used to study cardiovascular diseases; these imaging techniques include Magnetic Resonance, computed tomography, X-ray imaging, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. Clinical applications of imaging methods a used in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Topics include: multi-center or larger individual studies dealing with risk stratification and imaging utilization, applications for better characterization of cardiovascular diseases, assessment of the efficacy of new drugs and interventional devices. Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and technologies relating to video and digital image acquisition, processing, storage and analysis for cardiovascular imaging.

The Journal of Genetic Psychology is devoted to research and theory in developmental psychology across the life span. We accept submissions in the areas of educational and cross-cultural comparative psychology if they are developmental in nature. The major thrust of the journal is empirical research and the exposition and criticism of theory; however, applied and descriptive articles are occasionally accepted, as are briefly reported replications and refinements, selected book review essays, and reviews of the literature. Prospective authors may submit a manuscript as a Brief Report. Brief Reports are limited to 10 double-spaced manuscript pages including the abstract, text, references, and all figures and tables. The maximum page length for all other submissions is 35 double-spaced manuscript pages including the abstract, text, references, and all figures and tables.

The Musical Quarterly, founded in 1915 by Oscar Sonneck, has long been cited as the premier scholarly musical journal in the United States. The journal provides a forum for discussion and innovation for all those involved in the serials information chain, but especially for librarians and other library staff, be they in a single (continuing resources) department or in collection development, acquisitions, cataloging/metadata, or information technology departments. Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics provides a forum for the cross-fertilization of ideas, tools and techniques across all disciplines in which fluid flow plays a role, such as: aeronautical sciences, geophysical and environmental sciences, life sciences and materials sciences. Of particular interest are papers that unravel complex flow physics through combined computational and experimental efforts or through a fundamental theoretical analysis that complements computational work. Toxicologie Analytique et Clinique is an international peer-reviewed journal essentially devoted to analytical and clinical toxicology, covering all of the following aspects: clinical, forensic, environmental, occupational medicine, doping, addiction, alternative matrices, and quality assurance. Regulatory and legislative aspects are also being considered for inclusion. It publishes the following material in French and in English:
