Folia Linguistica and its supplement Folia Linguistica Historica are the peer-reviewed journals of the Societas Linguistica Europaea (SLE). Each volume consists of two issues of Folia Linguistica plus one issue of Folia Linguistica Historica. Folia Linguistica covers all non-historical areas in the traditional disciplines of general linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics), and also sociological, discoursal, computational and psychological aspects of language and linguistic theory. Other areas of central concern are grammaticalization and language typology. Folia Linguistica Historica is exclusively devoted to diachronic linguistics (including both historical and comparative linguistics), and to the history of linguistics. The journal consists of scientific articles presenting results of original research, review articles, overviews of research in specific areas, book reviews, and a miscellanea section carrying reports and discussion notes. In addition, proposals from prospective guest editors for occasional special issues on selected current topics are welcomed. Folia Linguistica is a peer-reviewed journal of international scope. Global Ecology and Biogeography focuses on the emerging field of macroecology: the study of broad, consistent patterns in the ecological characteristics of organisms and ecosystems. The journal emphasizes studies that address general ecological hypotheses, explored and tested using data of broad geographic, taxonomic, or temporal scope. A variety of approaches are represented: empirical studies documenting ecological and biogeographic patterns, theoretical studies that explore the causes of those patterns, applied studies of impacts of anthropogenic influences, as well as methodological studies of the tools used to study these problems. Recent work published in Global Ecology and Biogeography has included topics such as broad-scale patterns of biodiversity, ecosystem responses to global climate change, historical and evolutionary biogeography, remote sensing of ecosystem properties, species abundance and species range patterns, and statistical methodologies. The journal was established in 1991 and is published in 6 issues a year. Global Ecology and Biogeography is published as part of a single subscription package with its sister journals Journal of Biogeography, and Diversity and Distributions. Together these journals provide comprehensive coverage of the fields of biogeography, ecology and biodiversity. The editors may decide to transfer material between the journals where this is deemed most suitable. All papers submitted to the journals are subject to peer review.

The aim of Bio-Medical Materials and Engineering is to promote the welfare of humans and to help them keep healthy. Chemical Engineering Communications provides a forum for the publication of manuscripts reporting on results of both basic and applied research. All conventional areas of chemical engineering will be considered as well as topics in semiconductor processing, materials engineering, bioengineering, fluid mechanics, the molecular theory of equilibrium and transport properties, applied mathematics and computer-aided design. Chemical Engineering Communications publishes full-length research articles dealing with completed research projects on subjects such as experimentation (both techniques and data) and new theoretical models. Critical review papers reporting on the current state of the art in topical areas of chemical engineering are also welcome, as well as short communications and letters to the editor which give preliminary announcements of new theoretical concepts, new experimental data, innovative experimental techniques or novel concepts in data correlation. Since the emphasis is on original work in progress, the editors also encourage submission of accounts of tentative results, provided they are well documented. Commentaries on and discussion of previously published work are also considered.
