Applied Surface Science

ISSN: 0169-4332eISSN: 1873-5584

Applied Surface Science covers topics contributing to a better understanding of applications of surfaces, interfaces, and nanostructures. The journal is concerned with scientific research on the atomic and molecular level of material properties, determined with multiple surface analytical techniques, as well as the processing and application of such structures.Processes include deposition and growth, oxidation and nitridation, surface and interface reactions, in general, as well as their modification by directed energy deposition (lasers, ion or electron beams) or other techniques such as plasmas.Important subject areas include optical, electronic, (opto)-electronic, magnetic materials, bio-compatible materials, complex material applications, and thermal, electrical, chemical, physical and mechanical processes at well-defined surfaces and interfaces, e.g., the processes occurring in catalysis, corrosion and wear, are welcome to Applied Surface Science. However, papers with purely catalysis, corrosion and/or electrochemistry focus, or papers devoted fully to devices are considered to be more suitable for a topical journal where they find a more dedicated audience.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Calphad: Computer Coupling of Phase Diagrams and Thermochemistry

ISSN: 0364-5916eISSN: 1873-2984

The design of industrial processes requires reliable thermodynamic data. CALPHAD (Computer Coupling of Phase Diagrams and Thermochemistry) aims to promote computational thermodynamics through development of models to represent thermodynamic properties for various phases which permit prediction of properties of multicomponent systems from those of binary and ternary subsystems, critical assessment of data and their incorporation into self-consistent databases, development of software to optimize and derive thermodynamic parameters and the development and use of databanks for calculations to improve understanding of various industrial and technological processes. This work is disseminated through the CALPHAD journal and its annual conference. Contributions of high quality in these and related fields, especially the fields of first-principles calculations, experimental measurements of thermochemical and phase equilibrium data, phase transformations, and the process and materials designs that the CALPHAD works are based on or used for, are welcome.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Chemico-Biological Interactions: A journal of molecular, cellular and biochemical toxicology

ISSN: 0009-2797eISSN: 1872-7786
Chemico-Biological Interactions publishes research reports and review articles that examine the molecular, cellular, and/or biochemical basis of toxicologically relevant outcomes. Special emphasis is placed on toxicological mechanisms associated with interactions between chemicals and biological systems. Outcomes may include all traditional endpoints caused by synthetic or naturally occurring chemicals, both in vivo and in vitro. Endpoints of interest include, but are not limited to carcinogenesis, mutagenesis, respiratory toxicology, neurotoxicology, reproductive and developmental toxicology, and immunotoxicology.

CBI discourages papers that are descriptive in nature and that do not address toxicological mechanisms (e.g., reports of toxicological effects following chemical exposure in absence of mechanistic experiments). CBI also discourages papers reporting on toxicological effects from materials, such as plant extracts or herbal medicines, that have not been chemically characterized.

Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology

ISSN: 0193-3973eISSN: 1873-7900

The Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology provides a forum for the presentation of conceptual, methodological, policy, and research studies involved in the application of behavioral science research in developmental and life span psychology. The Journal publishes quality papers from an interdisciplinary perspective focusing on a broad array of social issues. The Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology focuses on two key concepts: human development, which refers to the psychological transformations and modifications that occur during the life cycle and influence an individual's behavior within the social milieu; and application of knowledge, which is derived from investigating variables in the developmental process. Its contributions cover research that deals with traditional life span markets (age, social roles, biological status, environmental variables) and broadens the scopes of study to include variables that promote understanding of psychological processes and their onset and development within the life span. Most importantly, the Journal demonstrates how knowledge gained from research can be applied to policy making and to educational, clinical, and social settings.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more.
