International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing

ISSN: 1878-1241eISSN: 1878-1292

The International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing is a peer-reviewed journal that seeks to promote the development and exchange of specialist knowledge within orthopaedic and trauma practice. The journal is devoted to nurses and other health professionals involved in the care of patients with orthopaedic and associated traumatic conditions. Following on from the tradition of the Journal of Orthopaedic Nursing, the journal aims to promote best practice through the dissemination of high quality research findings, debate within practice, exploration of professional issues and the development of health care practice as well as innovative roles. The journal publishes a wide range of papers from primary research and evidence updates to personal reflections on practice, education and management issues. Supporting sections include literature reviews, book reviews and international policy digests and Letters to the Editor and Editorials are encouraged which shed additional perspectives on papers published in the journal and matters affecting orthopaedic and trauma practice. The mission of the journal is to facilitate global networking that results in the sharing of evidence-based practice, the dissemination of ideas and knowledge amongst orthopaedic and trauma nurses alongside other members of the health care team, including the organisations which support such practitioners in developing their knowledge and practice. The editorial team encourages and supports contributions from both experienced and first time authors.New Section - Practice Development in orthopaedics and traumaPapers which describe initiatives and innovation in practice development are welcomed by the Editors. In keeping with the journal's aims and scope, short papers are invited from clinical staff, educators and students. Such papers may focus on, but are not restricted to, best practice and practice development initiatives; implementation of research findings and education; and development of the workforce in the clinical environment. Papers should be prepared in keeping with the journal's style (Guide for Authors can be found at http://www.elsevier.com/locate/ijotn) and should help the orthopaedic and trauma practitioner to develop and maintain their own skills and knowledge and help to transform delivery of quality care for patients elsewhere in the world. In addition, authors can use such papers to make the most of international networks by sharing their work, thoughts and ideas. The editors are keen to support new writers in preparing material and anyone in need of assistance is welcome to contact them in person at yjoon@elsevier.com.

Politics, Religion & Ideology

ISSN: 2156-7689eISSN: 2156-7697

For nearly two decades, Politics, Religion & Ideology has provided the leading international forum for the scholarly exploration of the politics of illiberal ideologies, both religious and secular. The journal is multi-disciplinary, cutting-edge and truly international in scope, having to date received submissions from authors located in over 30 different countries.

The journal publishes critical analyses of theory and international case studies pertaining to:
• The historic and ongoing interaction between religion and politics.
• The impact of religious radicalism on public policy, political attitudes and decision-making.
• The contemporary politics of religious revival in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, and Asia.
• The historical and contemporary politics of secular 'totalising' movements, such as fascism, Nazism, Stalinism, Maoism, and Ba'athism.
• Conflicts between illiberal ideologies (both religious and secular) and their opponents.
• Constructions of the sacred and the secular in political religions and other political ideologies.
• Publicly enforced (ir)religion and dissent.
• Class, gender and race in the context of political religions and religious politics.
• Memory, memory culture and the politics of memory in the context of totalitarianism and radical ideologies.

Committed to methodological and empirical eclecticism, Politics, Religion & Ideology continues to bring together leading academics and younger researchers engaged in exploring the above thematic. Directed to historians, social scientists, and policy analysts alike, the journal promotes original scholarship that demonstrates an acute awareness of the conceptual and methodological problems raised by the study of social phenomena, such as radicalism and political violence. The journal invites contributions that map common areas between different subject areas, revises conventional definitions of key concepts and, where appropriate, applies non-Eurocentric perspectives to political events, political ideas and political actors.

Peer Review Policy
All research articles submitted to Politics, Religion & Ideology undergo a rigorous process of double-blind peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees. The editorial process is overseen by the Editor-in-Chief, supported by two Editorial Assistants and an International Editorial Board consisting of 29 leading intellectuals from North America, the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Australasia, South Asia and the Middle East.

International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism

ISSN: 1526-484XeISSN: 1543-2742

Although sport nutrition represents a distinct field of academic and applied work, it receives input from—and makes contributions to—such fields as nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, psychology, clinical medicine, and the sport and exercise sciences. Since its inception, the International Journal of Sport Nutrition provided a forum for those studying sport nutrition from a variety of perspectives. At the same time, exercise biochemists have been studying the metabolic responses and adaptations to physical activity, creating an overlap between the two areas of study. Recognizing the maturity and interdependence of these two scientific disciplines, the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism (IJSNEM) was created. The journal is designed to provide a forum for the publication of both scholarly and applied work relating to the nutritional, biochemical, and molecular aspects of exercise science.IJSNEM publishes original scientific investigations and scholarly reviews offering new insights into sport nutrition and exercise metabolism, as well as articles focusing on the application of the principles of biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition to sport and exercise. Original research with human subjects will be emphasized, although relevant research with experimental animals may be submitted. Case studies that demonstrate systematic, rather than casual, observation made with appropriate instrumentation, and articles with clinical application will be included. The journal will continue to offer editorials, digests of related articles from other fields, research notes, and reviews of books, videos, and other media releases.

Resilience: International Policies, Practices and Discourses

ISSN: 2169-3293eISSN: 2169-3307

Resilience is a central concept informing policy frameworks dealing with developmental, social, economic, security and environmental problems in ways that clearly cross traditional disciplinary boundaries. Resilience: International Policies, Practices and Discourses creates a platform for dialogue about the processes, spaces, policies, practices and subjectivities through which resilience is seen to operate. As such, this journal draws together academic expertise from disciplines such as international sociology, geography, political theory, development studies, security studies, anthropology and law.

This journal seeks to draw out and engage with the assumptions informing resilience approaches and practices and, in so doing, create an inter-disciplinary space for contemporary critical social theorising. The themes connected to resilience that we are interested in pursuing include: the practices of prevention, empowerment and capacity-building; the policies of resilience, as applied in different fields and at different levels and their interconnections, proliferation and implementation; the discourses of adaptation and vulnerability, their genealogy and construction in relation to the natural and human sciences; the processes of resilience, how ‘resilience thinking’ approaches complexity, networks, causality and agency in new ways; the spaces of construction, the arenas where communities and policy practices are constituted at a wide range of levels from the local and regional to the national and global; the economics of adaptation, the links with neoliberal approaches and the shift to the private and social sphere; the politics of resilience in relation to communities of resistance and the construction (and deconstruction) of the political; the subjectivities articulated in the interpellation of the subject as embedded, as self-securing and responsibilised, and as active and transformative.

The journal has a double-blind peer review policy.
