Recent decades have witnessed fascinating and controversial advances in the biological sciences. This journal answers the need for meta-theoretical analysis, both about the very nature of biology, as well as about its social implications. Biology and Philosophy is aimed at a broad readership, drawn from both the sciences and the humanities. The journal subscribes to no specific school of biology, nor of philosophy, and publishes work from authors of all persuasions and all disciplines. The editorial board reflects this attitude in its composition and its world-wide membership. Each issue of Biology and Philosophy carries one or more discussions or comparative reviews, permitting the in-depth study of important works and topics.

This journal is devoted exclusively to publishing the transactions of various Russian Academy of Sciences congresses, conferences, symposia and school seminars across the fields of physics, thus providing access to a very large body of authoritative, advanced research results in pure and applied physics in Russia and the former Soviet Union. Articles presented here are usually complete and published nowhere else. In some cases, the papers are work-in-progress reports that may be published later in finished form in specialized journals. For the most part, the contributors are affiliated with Russian Academy of Sciences institutes, other leading physics research institutes throughout the former Soviet Union, and major Russian universities, sometimes with foreign collaborators. Comprising more than 2000 pages annually, the journal presents an enormous amount of information that cannot be obtained elsewhere.

Demographic Research is a free, online, open access, peer-reviewed journal of the population sciences published by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany. Contributions are generally published within one month of final acceptance. Demographic Research aims to: publish top-quality demographic research and related material from the full range of disciplines that bear on demography, including the social sciences, the life sciences, mathematics and statistics, policy research, and research on the discipline itself; harness the potential of the Internet. Articles may include data files, computer programs, and other supporting material, as well as hypertext links to other Internet resources; and encourage the development of an international community of people concerned with demographic research, including researchers, teachers, students, data producers; and users of demographic knowledge in government, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

Doklady Mathematics is a journal of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It publishes brief, scientific reports on previously unpublished significant new research in mathematics and its applications, including mathematical physics, computer science, control theory, and computers. The main contributors to the journal include members of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), corresponding members of the RAS, and scientists from the former Soviet Union and other foreign countries. Among the contributors are the outstanding Russian mathematicians V.I. Arnol´d, N.S. Bakhvalov, S.V.Emel´anov, Yu.L. Ershov, A.T. Fomenko, I.M. Gel´fand, V.A. Il´in, A.A. Krasovskii, M.M. Lavrent´ev, V.P. Maslov, S.M. Nikol´skii, O.A. Oleinik, Yu.G. Reshetniak, A.A. Samarskii, and V.S. Vladimirov. Doklady Mathematics contains English translations of papers published in Doklady Akademii Nauk (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences), which was founded in 1933.

Doklady Physics is a monthly journal containing English translations of current Russian research in physics, technical physics, astronomy, and mechanics from Doklady Akademii Nauk (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences). The Proceedings appear 36 times a year; the physics sections are collected, translated, and published in 12 issues a year. Doklady Physics publishes the most significant new research in physics being done in Russia today, thus ensuring its scientific priority.The Editorial Board of Doklady Akademii Nauk (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences) accepts new articles in the Russian language, formatted in accordance with the Rules for Authors. The article must be presented for publication by acting Russian or foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems (TBioCAS) addresses areas at the crossroads of Circuits and Systems and Life Sciences. The main emphasis is on microelectronic issues in a wide range of applications found in life sciences, physical sciences and engineering. The primary goal of the journal is to bridge the unique scientific and technical activities of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society to a wide variety of related areas.

General, theoretical, and application-oriented papers in the biomedical technical area with a Circuits and Systems perspective are encouraged for publication in TBioCAS. To be considered in scope, submissions to TBioCAS must demonstrate synergies between circuits and systems and medicine/biology.
 

The Journal of Computer and System Sciences International is the leading scientific journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences in all areas of control theory and systems. The Journal of the Learning Sciences provides a multidisciplinary forum for the presentation of research on learning and education. The journal seeks to foster new ways of thinking about learning that will allow our understanding of cognition and social cognition to have impact in education. It publishes research articles that advance our understanding of learning in real-world situations and of promoting learning in such venues, including articles that report on the roles of technology can play in promoting deep and lasting learning. The Journal of the Learning Sciences promotes engaging and thoughtful participation in learning activities, and articles reporting on new methodologies that enable rigorous investigation of learning in real-world situations.

Perspectives on Global Development and Technology (PGDT) is a peer-reviewed journal for the discussion of current social sciences research on diverse socio-economic development issues that reflect the opportunities and threats brought about by the world order shift from bipolar to global, the present economic liberalization that constricts development options, and the new enabling technologies of the Information Age.
