Digital Journalism

ISSN: 2167-0811eISSN: 2167-082X

Digital Journalism provides a critical forum for scholarly discussion, analysis and responses to the wide ranging implications of digital technologies, along with economic, political and cultural developments, for the practice and study of journalism. Radical shifts in journalism are changing every aspect of the production, content and reception of news; and at a dramatic pace which has transformed ‘new media’ into ‘legacy media’ in barely a decade. These crucial changes challenge traditional assumptions in journalism practice, scholarship and education, make definitional boundaries fluid and require reassessment of even the most fundamental questions such as "What is journalism?" and "Who is a journalist?"

Digital Journalism is edited by Bob Franklin, Professor of Journalism Studies at Cardiff University, UK. The editorial board includes internationally distinguished journalists and scholars of journalism studies. Watch a video of Bob talking about Digital Journalism here.

Digital Journalism pursues a significant and exciting editorial agenda including:

  • Digital media and the future of journalism;
  • Social media as sources and drivers of news;
  • The changing ‘places’ and ‘spaces’ of news production and consumption in the context of digital media;
  • News on the move and mobile telephony;
  • The personalisation of news;
  • Business models for funding digital journalism in the digital economy;
  • Developments in data journalism and data visualisation;
  • New research methods to analyse and explore digital journalism;
  • Hyperlocalism and new understandings of community journalism;
  • Changing relationships between journalists, sources and audiences;
  • Citizen and participatory journalism;

Journal for Cultural Research

ISSN: 1479-7585eISSN: 1740-1666

Journal for Cultural Research is an international journal, based in Lancaster University's Institute for Cultural Research. It is interested in essays concerned with the conjuncture between culture and the many domains and practices in relation to which it is usually defined, including, for example, media, politics, technology, economics, society, art and the sacred.Culture is no longer, if it ever was, singular. It denotes a shifting multiplicity of signifying practices and value systems that provide a potentially infinite resource of academic critique, investigation and ethnographic or market research into cultural difference, cultural autonomy, cultural emancipation and the cultural aspects of power. As such, culture has itself become, in many areas, a primary instrument of government and thus the desire not to be governed is impelled to think culture differently from the accepted forms of cultural identity and recognition. In the academy, research has become a defining feature of the cultural just as the cultural has become indistinguishable from questions concerning the governable.The journal publishes original essays by established and emerging writers around the globe who are developing the future of cultural theory and research in the 21st century. We encourage writing that explores every aspect of cultural experience, experiences that occur in the correlation between fields of knowledge, types of normativity, and forms of subjectivity in different domains and locations around the world.Peer Review Policy:All review papers in this journal have undergone editorial screening and peer review. Progress in Solid State Chemistry

ISSN: 0079-6786eISSN: 1873-1643

Progress in Solid State Chemistry presents a chemical view of the solid state by providing up-to-date critical reviews written by acknowledged authorities in the field. It also publishes surveys of research progress and specialized articles devoted to summarizing particular recent developments. The aim is to address the need brought about by the literature on the chemistry of the solid state being widely dispersed, making it difficult to obtain a broad and unified assessment of the present state of knowledge. Special emphasis is given to relating physical properties and structural chemistry. Whereas structural chemistry at one time was concerned mostly with perfect solids, most activity focused upon understanding of solid properties focuses on imperfections. Entities such as vacancies, dislocations, and positive holes, which have no independent existence outside the solid itself, are of prime importance in modern solid state chemistry.The reviews published in Progress in Solid State Chemistry emphasize critical evaluation of the field, along with indications of current problems and future directions. Papers are not intended to be bibliographic in nature but rather to inform a broad range of readers in an inherently multidisciplinary field by providing expert treatises oriented both towards specialists in different areas of the solid state and towards nonspecialists. The authorship is international, and the subject matter will be of interest to chemists, materials scientists, physicists, metallurgists, crystallographers, ceramists, and engineers interested in the solid state.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. The Scandinavian Journal of Pain, the scientific journal of the researcher-network Scandinavian Association for the Study of Pain (www.SASP.org), is a comprehensive forum for original research from international researchers, on all aspects of pain including the nature of pain, pain mechanisms, and pain management. In order to bring pain-researchers and pain-clinicians up-to-date on important issues, the journal also encourages submissions of topical reviews.Scandinavian Journal of Pain provides a broad and stimulating approach to new pain-related research by also commissioning editorial comments published together with all accepted papers. The editorial comment highlights the significance of the research in the paper and often provides a concise review of the topic of the paper. This puts the papers into context of the present climate of pain research.Scandinavian Journal of Pain is primarily an online journal, and it also publishes a condensed print version for its subscribers. This paper-version prints the editorial comments, the extended abstracts, and the Highlights of the online-published papers. This provides the essence of the research and its importance in the care or future care of patients.The editorial comments and the Editor's choice paper in each issue are currently available as Free for View on ScienceDirect and www.scandinavianjournalpain.com. All articles published in the Scandinavian Journal of Pain are indexed in Scopus/Science Direct and EMBASE.Scandinavian Journal of Pain publishes these categories of articles: Basic and clinical research; systemic and topical reviews; hypothesis-generating case-reports and observational studies; letter to the Editor. The abstracts of presentations at scientific meetings of SASP are also published online. For current contents, and for papers in press, see www.scandinavianjournalpain.com.The Scandinavian countries have a long and distinguished tradition of excellent scientific and medical contributions to pain research, and the Scandinavian Journal of Pain is a consequence of this tradition.For more information to authors on how to write and submit a manuscript, seewww.scandinavianjournalpain.com/authorinfo

Schizophrenia Bulletin: The Journal of Psychoses and Related Disorders

ISSN: 0586-7614eISSN: 1745-1701

Schizophrenia Bulletin seeks to review recent developments and empirically based hypotheses regarding the etiology and treatment of schizophrenia. We view the field as broad and deep, and will publish new knowledge ranging from the molecular basis to social and cultural factors. We will give new emphasis to translational reports which simultaneously highlight basic neurobiological mechanisms and clinical manifestations. Much of the Bulletin content will be invited reviews and manuscripts organized as a theme by special guest editors. Also, the Bulletin will carry unsolicited manuscripts of high quality that report original data related to theme issues or where the Bulletin can provide a special venue for a major study.The editorial policy of the Schizophrenia Bulletin generally follows the Uniform Requirements guidelines articulated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (http://www.icmje.org). The journal is published bi-monthly serving readership and contributors from the USA and internationally. Each issue of the Bulletin will be based on a major review and/or one or more themes comprised of 2-5 Reviews Articles covering clinical and basic scientific aspects of the theme area of the issue. Topics for future issues will be announced ahead of time and Original Reports related to the themes will be accepted for review. Some theme issues will be based on workshops and meeting symposia.We consider the Bulletin to be an ideal venue for special reports such as treatment guidelines or the presentation of translational science. The Bulletin will publish the proceedings and abstracts of the International Congress on Schizophrenia Research. The Bulletin will publish first person accounts, At Issue articles expressing opposing views on controversial scientific issues, succinct discourses on clinical and basic neuroscience concepts, and brief essays on the role of specific environmental and genetic factors in schizophrenia. The Schizophrenia Bulletin will continue the tradition of the front cover display of art from artists with mental illness.
