Environmental Research

ISSN: 0013-9351

Environmental Research publishes original reports describing studies of the adverse effects of environmental agents on humans and animals. The principal aim of the journal is to assess the impact of chemicals and microbiological pollutants on human health. Both in vivo and in vitro studies, focused on defining the etiology of environmentally induced illness and to increase understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental agents cause disease, are especially welcome. Investigations on the effects of global warming/climate change on the environment and public health, as well as those focused on the effects of anthropogenic activities on climate change are also of particular interest.Although Environmental Research is opened to all subjects directly related with this field, areas of special interest include:• Air, soil, and water pollutants and health• Biomonitoring and adverse human health effects• Environmental and occupational medicine• Environmental epidemiology• Environmental microbiology• Environmental toxicology• Environmental transport and fate of pollutants• Global warming/climate change• Nanomaterials in the environment and nanotoxicology• Risk analysis, risk assessment and risk management, and public health• Waste treatment and disposal• Water and wastewater management, and sewage

International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability

ISSN: 1473-5903eISSN: 1747-762X
DOAJ Logo

The International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability ( IJAS ) is a cross-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of sustainability in agricultural and food systems. IJAS publishes both theoretical developments and critical appraisals of new evidence on what is not sustainable about current or past agricultural and food systems, as well as on transitions towards agricultural and rural sustainability at farm, community, regional, national and international levels, and through food supply chains. It is committed to clear and consistent use of language and logic, and the use of appropriate evidence to substantiate empirical statements.IJAS increases knowledge on what technologies and processes are contributing to agricultural sustainability, what policies, institutions and economic structures are preventing or promoting sustainability, and what relevant lessons should be learned.IJAS addresses agricultural sustainability directly and comprehensively. Papers published in the journal contribute to answering the questions: What makes agriculture more (or less) sustainable, how, and why?IJAS covers both theoretical as well as more technical topics, but does not include coverage of technical experimental findings, derived from field or laboratory based studies, unless they explicitly and comprehensively discuss the sustainability aspects of the research.Authors and researchers are strongly encouraged to take a look at previously published IJAS papers. Spatial Economic Analysis

ISSN: 1742-1772eISSN: 1742-1780

Spatial Economic Analysis is a pioneering economics journal dedicated to the development of theory and methods in spatial economics, published by two of the world's leading learned societies in the analysis of spatial economics, the Regional Studies Association and the British and Irish Section of the Regional Science Association International. A spatial perspective has become increasingly relevant to our understanding of economic phenomena, both on the global scale and at the scale of cities and regions. The growth in international trade, the opening up of emerging markets, the restructuring of the world economy along regional lines, and overall strategic and political significance of globalization, have re-emphasised the importance of geographical analysis. Spatial variations in economic development within cities and regions are also highly topical subjects for intellectual enquiry and have long been the focus of policy initiatives by national, regional and local governments. The awakening emphasis on space among economists has been stimulated by the emergence of a new breed of theory, namely 'new economic geography'or 'geographical economics'. This new theory adds a significant new dimension to the already existing theoretical tools of spatial economics, which broadly aim to analyse the role of geography and location in economic phenomena. Additionally, spatial economic analysis is increasingly being supported by the emergence of new analytical methods, with an explosion of interest in new models and techniques of spatial data analysis and data visualisation (GIS). Spatial econometrics is becoming increasingly recognised as a valuable sub-discipline among mainstream econometricians.Peer Review StatementAll articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing.Disclaimer The Regional Studies Association, The British and Irish Section of the Regional Science Association International and Taylor & Francis make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. Agricultural Water Management

ISSN: 0378-3774

The journal publishes papers of international significance relating to the science, economics, and policy of agricultural water management. In all cases, manuscripts must address implications and provide insight regarding agricultural water management. The primary topics that we consider are the following:• Farm-level and regional water management• Crop water relations, crop yields and water productivity • Irrigation, drainage, and salinity in cultivated areas• Salinity management and strategies for improving the use of saline water in agriculture• Rainwater harvesting and crop water management in rainfed areas• Use of wastewater and other low quality waters in agriculture • Groundwater management in agriculture and conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water• Implications of groundwater and surface water management on nutrient cycling• Exploitation and protection of agricultural water resources.Additional topics of interest include interactions between agricultural water management and the environment (flooding, soil erosion, nutrient loss and depletion, non-point source pollution, water quality, desertification, and the potential implications of global climate change for agricultural water management), and the institutional and regulatory aspects of agricultural water management (water pricing, allocation and competition).Papers in these categories must draw direct and practical linkages to agricultural water management. Manuscripts drawing generalised conclusions, such as that competition for water will increase in future, or that less water will be available for agriculture, are unlikely to be considered. Also, manuscripts describing basic soil-water-plant relationships, basic engineering and hydrology, or methods of estimating evapotranspiration will be considered only if the discussion is relevant to the active management of water in agriculture and the information enhances international literature.

Physics in Perspective

ISSN: 1422-6944eISSN: 1422-6960

Physics in Perspective seeks to bridge the gulf between physicists and non-physicists through historical and philosophical studies that typically display the unpredictable as well as the cross-disciplinary interplay of observation, experiment, and theory that has occurred over extended periods of time in academic, governmental, and industrial settings and in allied disciplines such as astrophysics, chemical physics, and geophysics. The journal also publishes first-person accounts by physicists of significant contributions they have made, biographical articles, book reviews, and guided tours of historical sites in cities throughout the world. It strives to make all articles understandable to a broad spectrum of readers – scientists, teachers, students, and the public at large.
