The journal is meant for ecologists who, because of their research interests or occupation, are involved in designing, monitoring, or constructing ecosystems. It is meant to serve as a bridge between ecologists and engineers, as ecotechnology is not wholly defined by either field.The journal will be read and contributed to by applied ecologists, environmental scientists and managers and regulators, natural resource specialists (e.g. foresters, fish and wildlife specialists), environmental and civil engineers, agroecologists, and landscape planners and designers. The journal is also for engineers who, as a result of training and/or experience in biological and/or ecological sciences, are involved in designing and building ecosystems. The journal is of particular interest to practising environmental managers due to its multidisciplinary approach to practical problems and opportunities.Ecological engineering has been defined as the design of ecosystems for the mutual benefit of humans and nature. Specific topics covered in the journal include: ecotechnology; synthetic ecology; bioengineering; sustainable agroecology; habitat reconstruction; restoration ecology; ecosystem conservation; ecosystem rehabilitation; stream and river restoration; wetland restoration and construction; reclamation ecology; non-renewable resource conservation. Applications of ecological engineering (or ecotechnology) include wetland creation and restoration, pollution control by ecosystems, restoration and rehabilitation of forests, grasslands, lakes, reservoirs and rivers, and development of sustainable agroecosystems.Because ecological engineering is based on the premise of conserving both renewable and non-renewable resources by using both in partnership, the journal will also be pertinent to those involved in global climate change, alternative energy policies, ecological economics, environmental conservation, and global geopolitics.The journal welcomes full papers, short communications, comments, letters to the Editor, and will publish review articles upon invitation.Papers will be published in the English language. The journal will not levy page charges and the corresponding author, at no cost, will be provided with a PDF file of the article via e-mail.All papers will be subject to peer review and they will be dealt with as speedily as is compatible with a high standard of presentation.

African Journal of Range & Forage Science is the leading rangeland and pastoral journal in Africa. The Journal is dedicated to publishing quality original material that advances rangeland ecology and pasture management in Africa. Contributions reporting on research not done in Africa, which is applicable in Africa, are welcome. The Journal promotes both science and its application and authors are encouraged to explicitly identify the practical implications of their work. Peer-reviewed research papers and research notes deal primarily with all aspects of rangeland and pasture ecology and management, including the ecophysiology and biogeochemistry of rangelands and pastures, terrestrial plant8211;herbivore interactions (both domestic and wild), rangeland assessment and monitoring, effects of climate change on rangelands, rangeland and pasture management, rangeland rehabilitation, ecosystem services in support of production, conservation and biodiversity goals, and the identification and development of intensive and semi-intensive pasture and forage resources to meet livestock production needs in Africa. Articles highlighting transdisciplinary linkages among biophysical and social sciences that support management, policy and societal values are particularly encouraged. Journal of Youth Studies is an international scholarly journal devoted to a theoretical and empirical understanding of young people's experiences and life contexts. Over the last decade, changing socio-economic circumstances have had important implications for young people: new opportunities have been created, but the risks of marginalisation and exclusion have also become significant. This is the background against which Journal of Youth Studies has been launched, with the aim of becoming the key multidisciplinary journal for academics with interests relating to youth and adolescence. Journal of Youth Studies is focused upon young people within a range of contexts, such as education, the labour market and the family, and highlights key research themes such as the construction of identity, the use of leisure time, involvement in crime, consumption and political behaviour. The journal particularly encourages the submission of articles which highlight interconnections between the different spheres of young people's lives (such the transition from school to work) and articles which offer a critical perspective on social policies which affect young people. Journal of Youth Studies brings together social scientists working in a range of disciplines. These include sociology, psychology, education, social policy, political science, economics, anthropology and social geography. The Scope of the Journal

International Studies in Sociology of Education is published in English four times annually and has a global reach. The journal addresses historical as well as contemporary sociological debates in education significant to an international audience.

The journal welcomes inter-disciplinary work where sociological theory and perspectives have a substantial role. Empirical and non-empirical manuscripts are both welcome. The scope of the journal extends to formal and informal education and the role of education in the life course. Authors are encouraged to locate their work in relation to previous issues of ISSE as well as the wider field of sociology of education.

Peer Review Policy

All research articles in this journal undergo rigorous peer review based on initial editor screening and refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.

The Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health (JEGH) plans to impact global epidemiology and international health with peer-reviewed articles focused on innovative scholarship and strategies to advance global health policy. The journal will take special interest in publishing rigorous assessments of policies where these have been implemented based on epidemiological and public health research. At Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health we believe epidemiology and public health are closely intertwined, both scientifically, and from a health policy vantage: advances in one area exert positive consequences on the other.The journal benefits from a diverse, multidisciplinary, experienced and unusually international editorial board that will facilitate the publication of articles and perspectives reflecting a global view of public health medicine and epidemiology. We also seek to emphasize our focus on supporting the academic, clinical and practical needs of public health practitioners in the field.The journal seeks to improve regional and global health by informing efforts to reduce the risk of communicable and non-communicable diseases. We are particularly interested in the links between evolving epidemiologic advances and the implementation of health policy initiatives, eventually in publishing efficacy assessments, including the assessment of unintended consequences.As global health medicine meets unprecedented problems - the H1N1 pandemic being a recent example - imaginative approaches will be needed to influence health policy, foreign policy and even immigration policy. The resulting need for multidisciplinary research is not well served by the current body of academic publications and this journal seeks to fill this important gap.The Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health is an interdisciplinary journal that welcomes reviews, original papers, laboratory, epidemiological or clinical, as well as perspectives and commentaries from all aspects of communicable and non-communicable diseases, in particular those identified as priorities by the World Health Assembly. Journal of Applied Physics is the American Institute of Physics' (AIP) archival journal for significant new results in applied physics; content is published online daily, collected into two online and printed issues per month (24 issues per year). The journal publishes articles that emphasize understanding of the physics underlying modern technology, but distinguished from technology on the one side and pure physics on the other. Applied Physics Reviews is a series of occasional review articles on topics within this scope. The Proceedings of the Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials is an annual feature.

The Journal of Chemical Sciences publishes original articles and rapid communications by Indian and other researchers, spanning topics in the chemical sciences. It was originally part of the Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences – Part A, founded by the Nobel Laureate Professor C.V. Raman in 1934. It was renamed Journal of Chemical Sciences, matching its present-day focus, in 2004.
