Indian Journal of Medical Specialities (INJMS) is an all-encompassing, peer-reviewed quarterly journal. It caters to all sections of the medical community, especially the undergraduate and postgraduate students from all across the Indian subcontinent. INJMS publishes scholarly articles and original research papers from all specialties. It also publishes review articles, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, clinical vignettes, case reports, debates, revisiting clinical signs, clinical/radiological/pictorial quiz, postgraduate and undergraduate clinics, brief communications and letters to the editor. An important highlight is the emphasis on undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

There is a great void that is perceptible between the research being performed and the research actually being published in India and other developing countries. INJMS aims to fill this void. A salient feature in this journal is the Undergraduate Publication Corner wherein research works of undergraduate students will be published. "Undergraduate Student Editors" have been included for this purpose. The journal also lays special emphasis on publications in the field of medical education, research methodology and biostatistics. The International Journal of Sports Science & Coaching is a peer-reviewed, international, academic/professional journal, which aims to bridge the gap between coaching and sports science.The journal will integrate theory and practice in sports science, promote critical reflection of coaching practice, and evaluate commonly accepted beliefs about coaching effectiveness and performance enhancement. Open learning systems will be promoted in which: (a) sports science is made accessible to coaches, translating knowledge into working practice; and (b) the challenges faced by coaches are communicated to sports scientists.The vision of the journal is to support the development of a community in which: (i) sports scientists and coaches respect and learn from each other as they assist athletes to acquire skills by training safely and effectively, thereby enhancing their performance, maximizing their enjoyment of the sporting experience and facilitating character development; and (ii) scientific research is embraced in the quest to uncover, understand and develop the processes involved in sports coaching and elite performance.The journal will publish peer-reviewed, original papers representing a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Case studies of work between sports scientists and coaches are especially encouraged. The journal also encourages the submission of papers, including advocacy pieces, which may have been presented in a forum or special interest group at a conference; and philosophical works that address connections between sports science and coaching. The peer review process is open, meaning that both authors and referees know each other's identity. Such a process, with its transparency, is in tune with the mission of the Journal.

The IZA Journal of European Labor Studies is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen, publishing high-quality international research on a wide range of issues of relevance for European labor markets. In its scope it is policy-oriented and focused on applied research work.The Journal aims at contributing to the current policy debate across Europe and within its various countries. This includes analyses of European labor policy dealing with concrete policy problems, reforms, proposals or issues that are of concern for policy-making.In general, the IZA Journal of European Labor Studies publishes high-quality original research articles. The Journal of Business Finance and Accounting exists to publish high quality research papers in accounting, finance and their interface. The interface is especially apparent in the areas of corporate governance, financial reporting and communication, financial performance measurement and managerial reward and control structures. A feature of the Journal is that it recognises that informational problems are pervasive in financial markets and business organisations, and that accounting plays an important role in resolving such problems.The Journal welcomes both theoretical and empirical contributions. Nonetheless, theoretical papers should yield novel testable implications, and empirical papers should be theoretically well-motivated. The Editors view accounting and finance as being closely related to economics and, as a consequence, papers submitted will often have theoretical motivations that are grounded in economics. The Journal, however, also seeks papers that complement economics-based theorising with theoretical developments originating in other social science disciplines or traditions.While many papers in the Journal use econometric or related empirical methods, the Editors also welcome contributions that use other empirical research methods.Although the scope of the Journal is broad, the Journal is not a suitable outlet for highly abstract mathematical papers, or empirical papers with inadequate theoretical motivation. The Journal of Child Sexual Abuse is interdisciplinary and provides an essential interface for researchers, academicians, attorneys, clinicians, and practitioners. The journal advocates for increased networking in the sexual abuse field, greater dissemination of information and research, a higher priority for this international epidemic, and development of effective assessment, intervention, and prevention programs.Divided into sections to provide clear information, the journal covers research issues, clinical issues, legal issues, prevention programs, case studies, and brief reports, focusing on three subject groups - child and adolescent victims of sexual abuse or incest, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse or incest, and sexual abuse or incest offenders. Research, treatment approaches and techniques, prevention, intervention, and other programs concerning any of these groups are general categories of the published articles and brief reports. The articles emphasize applying research, treatment, and interventions to practical situations so the importance of the results will be clear. Since its inception in 1896, The Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM) has published papers on the physiological, pathological, and molecular mechanisms that encompass the host response to disease. The journal prioritizes studies on intact organisms and has made a commitment to publishing studies on human subjects.JEM originsThe JEM was founded in 1896 at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine by William Welch, the school’s founder and also the first president of the Board of Scientific Directors of the Rockefeller Institute. From its inception, Welch edited the journal by himself—even editing manuscripts while attending baseball games—and he eventually found that it placed too heavy a burden on his time. By March 1902, the editorial burden became too great for Welch, who stopped publishing papers and began stockpiling manuscripts and unanswered correspondence in his office, explaining the conspicuous absence of published papers from 1902 to 1904 (see JEM Archives).In October 1902, Welch appealed to the board of The Rockefeller Institute to take over the journal. The transfer of ownership and publication responsibilities required the physical transfer of manuscripts from Welch’s office, which fell to the director of The Rockefeller Institute, Simon Flexner, who carried the abandoned manuscripts from Baltimore to New York in a suitcase.The first issue of the JEM published by The Rockefeller Institute appeared in February 1905, with Flexner serving as editor, and the journal has been published regularly since then. Although the journal was adopted by The Rockefeller Institute as a venue for publication of the Institute’s own research, it also accepted submissions from outside. Even in the early years, more than half of the papers published in the journal came from external labs. .
