Occasionally, theoretical or methodological papers, critical reviews of a content area, or theoretically relevant case studies will also be published. Emphases of interest include information processing mechanisms, intellectual abilities, the impact of injury or disease on performance, cognitive training, cognitive and pharmacological approaches to treatment and rehabilitation, metacognition, and the social and personal aspects of cognitive functioning.Articles on both normal and dysfunctional development that are relevant to the interface between cognitive gerontology and neuropsychology are particularly welcome. Documenta Praehistorica is an international journal that focuses on interdisciplinary research in cognition and materialities of prehistoric cultures, archaeogenetic studies, palaeodemography, population dynamics and cultural trajectories in prehistory, settlement and landscape dynamics, climate anomalies, radiocarbon dating, palaeodietary reconstruction based on stable isotope analysis, chemistry in archaeology and palaeoenvironmental studies. A leading journal in the field and an official publication of the Society for Music Theory, Music Theory Spectrum features articles on a wide range of topics in music theory and analysis, including aesthetics, critical theory and hermeneutics, history of theory, post-tonal theory, linear analysis, rhythm, music cognition, and the analysis of popular musics. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary articles revealing intersections with topics in other fields such as ethnomusicology, mathematics, musicology, philosophy, psychology, and performance.

Behavioural Neurology publishes original experimental papers and case reports dealing with disordered human behaviour and exceptional animal studies that have direct implications for understanding human behaviour or neural mechanisms of cognition. These embrace the field of cognitive neurology, biological psychiatry, neuropsychology, rehabilitation, and cognitive neuroscience. The emphasis of the approach is on lesion and imaging studies that explore abnormal human cognition and behaviour. The journal embraces matters of interest to clinicians, such as behavioural neurologists and neuropsychiatrists, and cognitive neuroscientists, neuropsychologists, neuropathologists, neurochemists, therapists, psychopharmacologists and metabolic scientists with a special interest in human neurological disorders. All papers are refereed. Reviews of an area of the literature, and commentaries in areas of current interest, will also be considered for publication. Reviews and commentaries in areas outside behavioural neurology, but of interest and importance to behavioural neurologists, will also be considered. A Clinical Notes section has been added for brief reports of clinical observations that may have important implications for understanding cognitive disorders. Behavioural Neurology also publishes Book Reviews and Short Communications.

Computational Psychiatry publishes original research articles and reviews that involve the application, analysis, or invention of theoretical, computational and statistical approaches to mental function and dysfunction. Topics include brain and behavioral modeling over multiple scales and levels of analysis, and the use of these models to understand psychiatric dysfunction, its remediation, its relation to social or biological factors, and the development and sustenance of healthy cognition throughout the lifespan.

Current Directions in Psychological Science (CDPS) is a peer-reviewed bi-monthly journal featuring reviews by leading experts covering all of scientific psychology and its applications. Current Directions features topics such as language, memory and cognition, development, the neural basis of behavior and emotions, various aspects of psychopathology, and theory of mind.

Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that link brain function with cognitive processes, including attention and awareness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition.Neuropsychologia has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Submission of papers describing the use of other methodologies – most notably functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and transcranial magnetic stimulation - is strongly encouraged, however. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding human cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Psychopharmacology is an international journal that covers the broad topic of elucidating mechanisms by which drugs affect behavior. The scope of the journal extends from clinical psychopharmacology, including trials, to experimental studies on the effects of drugs on cognition and behavior in humans and laboratory studies in experimental animals. The research methodologies covered range from neurochemical assays and electrophysiological recording to studies of functional neuroimaging, and the methods of experimental psychology and ethology, as well as clinical neurology and psychiatry.

Researchers, teachers, and students interested in all areas of individual differences (e.g., gender, temperament, personality, intelligence) and their assessment in human and animal research will find the Journal of Individual Differences useful. The Journal of Individual Differences publishes manuscripts dealing with individual differences in behavior, emotion, cognition, and their developmental aspects. This includes human as well as animal research. The Journal of Individual Differences is conceptualized to bring together researchers working in different areas ranging from, for example, molecular genetics to theories of complex behavior. Moreover, it places emphasis on papers dealing with special methodological and conceptual issues in basic science as well as in their applied fields (assessment of personality and intelligence).

The Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology publishes original research papers that advance understanding of the field of experimental psychology, broadly considered. This includes, but is not restricted to, cognition, perception, motor performance, attention, memory, learning, language, decision making, development, comparative psychology, and neuroscience.The journal publishes papers reporting empirical results that advance knowledge in a particular research area; papers describing theoretical, methodological, or conceptual advances that are relevant to the interpretation of empirical evidence in the field; brief reports (less than 2,500 words for the main text) that describe new results or analyses with clear theoretical or methodological import.Occasionally, the Journal publishes book reviews judged to be of broad interest to the experimental psychology research community.
