Eastern European Screen Studies

ISSN: 2997-4828eISSN: 2997-4836

Eastern European Screen Studies provides the world-wide community of Eastern European film and media scholars with a platform for debate. The journal covers screen cultures of Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine, just as well as cinemas of Czechoslovakia, East Germany and Yugoslavia as now non-existent states with historic cinematic tradition. It encourages authors to cover production, consumption and textual characteristics of films and other forms of the moving image and locate the material in national, as well as transnational perspectives, reflecting the convergence of various trends in world cinema, such as festivalization and the emergence of new distribution platforms that simultaneously re-establish and transcend geopolitical and cultural borders.

The journal editors are keen to publish articles on all types of moving image, both arthouse and popular films, television programmes and music videos, films produced for theatrical release, as well as amateur films and those for educational, industrial and advertising purposes.

Eastern European Screen Studies is edited by a board of experienced, internationally recognised experts in the field. The journal publishes 3 issues per year. Each year one or two special issues are published, devoted to phenomena which are under-researched in the existing literature. We are open to suggestions for specific themes from potential guest editors.

All papers submitted to Eastern European Screen Studies undergo initial editorial screening. Once deemed suitable, research articles are sent out for rigorous double-anonymized peer review by at least two independent referees. Instructions for Authors can be found here.

Economic Analysis and Policy

ISSN: 0313-5926eISSN: 2204-2296
Economic Analysis and Policy publishes articles from all branches of economics. It features contributions that have policy relevance, both theoretical and applied. EAP particularly seeks to publish passionate, critical, and controversial articles. It is open for orthodox but also unorthodox approaches.

The journal has three main sections. They are:

  • Policy Debates and Controversies
This section will contain highly policy relevant articles that are of general interest to economists. We will strive to obtain opposing views on current topics.
  • Recent Trends in Economic Research
This section will contain research articles from all fields of economics, similar to those published in other general interest economics journals, such as the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Economic Journal, or the Economic Record. These articles will not necessarily be easily accessible to non-academic economists. We expect authors to provide the main insights in a non-technical introduction and in the conclusions.
  • Comments and Discussions of Past and Present Contributions to Economics
This section has two aims. On the one hand it is a platform to critically discuss recent contributions to the economic literature. This section will contain contributions that revalidate econometric articles and/or discuss the importance of recent findings in economics. On the other hand, it will contain a critical appreciation of classic contributions to the economic literature. We will invite original authors as well as scholars that work in the field to review the importance of classic contributions to modern economics.

Education and Information Technologies

ISSN: 1360-2357eISSN: 1573-7608

Aims of the Editors:

It is our determination to develop this journal into a key international voice in the growing and significant field of education and information technologies.

This journal is a platform for the range of debates and issues that are current in our field. It is a broad field: we aim to provide perspectives at all levels, from the micro of specific applications or instances of use in classrooms to macro concerns of national policies and major projects: from classes of five year olds to adults in tertiary institutions: from teachers and administrators, to researchers and designers: from institutions to open, distance and lifelong learning. The strength of this breadth lies in the opportunity to raise and debate fundamental issues at all levels, to discuss specific instances and cases, draw inference and probe theory. This journal is embedded in the research and practice of professionals. It will not proselytise on behalf of the technologies but rather provoke debate on all the complex relationships between information and communication technologies and education.

As editors we are determined to maintain and expand the international standing of Education and Information Technologies by careful selection on merit of the papers submitted to us. Our goal is that we should provide an ongoing forum for debate. We shall occasionally produce special editions to enable us to cover particular issues at depth. We invite you, our readers, to send us papers on your work for consideration for inclusion, but also to comment and reflect upon the argument and opinions that we shall be publishing.

Genealogy+Critique

eISSN: 2755-0923

The peer-reviewed open access journal Le foucaldien publishes interdisciplinary research along the lines of the philosopher and historian Michel Foucault (1926–1984) in English, German, and French. The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy credits Foucault with being "the author most frequently cited in the humanities" at the beginning of the 21st century, but his concepts are challenged in emerging fields such as media studies, digital humanities, post-colonialism, new materialism, and science and technology studies. Hence the main focus of Le foucaldien lies on updating and operationalizing Foucauldian approaches in preferably plain language.

The journal's publisher, the Open Library of Humanities (OLH), is a not-for-profit charity financed by an international consortium of academic institutions. Due to its non-commercial business model, the OLH does not charge any author fees. Le foucaldien's articles are peer-reviewed, published under a CC BY open access license, indexed in all major databases, and archived long-term in HTML, PDF, and XML. For details on the submission process, please check the author guidelines.

The journal is published as a continuous volume and issue throughout the year. Articles go online as soon as they are ready to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays in getting knowledge publicly available. Special Collections are published as part of the normal issue, but also within separate webpages. Le foucaldien is edited by Maurice Erb, Simon Ganahl, and Patrick Kilian, who are assisted by Oriane Petteni and Sergej Seitz and supported by an editorial board of highly renowned scholars. For news around the activities of the journal, please visit us on the foucaultblog, follow us on Twitter, and like us on Facebook.

DOAJ Logo

IIMB Management Review (IMR) is a quarterly journal brought out by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Addressed to management practitioners, researchers and academics, IMR aims to engage rigorously with practices, concepts and ideas in the field of management, with an emphasis on providing managerial insights, in a reader friendly format. To this end IMR invites manuscripts that provide novel managerial insights in any of the core business functions. The manuscript should be rigorous, that is, the findings should be supported by either empirical data or a well-justified theoretical model, and well written. While these two requirements are necessary for acceptance, they do not guarantee acceptance. The sole criterion for publication is contribution to the extant management literature.Although all manuscripts are welcome, our special emphasis is on papers that focus on emerging economies throughout the world. Such papers may either improve our understanding of markets in such economies through novel analyses or build models by taking into account the special characteristics of such economies to provide guidance to managers.Full-length research articles (up to 8,000 words) on all the business functions, aspects of policy and management pedagogy form the core of the journal; at present focussed discussion and interview papers, and book reviews are also featured.IMR is a peer-reviewed journal and follows a 'double blind' review process. All papers submitted to IMR go through a preliminary review at the editorial desk and those considered appropriate are sent to an Associate Editor. On the recommendation of the Associate Editor, the article may be rejected or assigned to two reviewers from the editorial board.

Journal of Financial Economics

ISSN: 0304-405XeISSN: 1879-2774

The Journal of Financial Economics began a new section containing applied papers and case studies in 1989. This section provides a high-quality professional outlet for scholarly studies of actual cases, events or practice. Such phenomena provide a rich source of data that illustrate or challenge accepted theory and lead to new insights about the world. These studies currently have few professional outlets, and with this section The Journal of Financial Economics takes a leading role in encouraging such work. Applications and case study papers are often different in form, scope and content and can be more conjectural. The papers deal with issues that are often less quantifiable, more descriptive and normative than usual. Papers that raise a new question or pose an old one in an innovative way and papers that test theories in specialized ways or document interesting phenomena which are likely to stimulate new research are emphasized.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more.
