Spectroscopy Letters is an international journal that provides vital coverage of fundamental developments, new or improved instrumentation, spectroscopic diagnostics, and applications of spectroscopy across all disciplines disciplines (chemistry, physics, biology, environmental, geological) where spectroscopy is used. The journal offers communications about original experimental and theoretical work on such methods as NMR, ESR, microwave, NIR, Raman and UV spectroscopy, together with atomic emission, absorption, and fluorescence, X-ray spectroscopy, all forms of organic and inorganic mass spectrometry, laser spectroscopy, electron microscopy, molecular fluorescence and molecular phosphorescence. Manuscripts are welcome from all disciplines of biology, chemistry, physics and instrumentation science. Articles can be submitted as full papers, or as short papers of a preliminary nature (letters). Letters may include instrumental developments that may be useful for other spectroscopists. Applications of spectroscopy in pharmaceutical analysis are not covered, nor are spectroscopic techniques already well-established and well-represented in the literature. Also, one special sub-category of papers may be submitted: Spectroscopy Education Letters, which covers accounts of research done by undergraduates, new experiments for teaching, and other new pedagogical materials or approaches to the teaching of spectroscopy at any level. Studies in the History of Gardens & Designed Landscapes addresses itself to readers with a serious interest in the subject, and is now established as the main place in which to publish scholarly work on all aspects of garden history. The journal's main emphasis is on detailed and documentary analysis of specific sites in all parts of the world, with focus on both design and reception. adsorption Science & Technology is a journal devoted to studies of adsorption and desorption phenomena, which publishes original research papers and critical review articles, with occasional special issues relating to particular topics and symposia. The goal of the Asian Economic Policy Review is to become an intellectual voice on the current issues of international economics and economic policy, based on comprehensive and in-depth analyses, with a primary focus on Asia. The journal of ‘CardioRenal Medicine’ explores the mechanisms by which obesity and other metabolic abnormalities promote the pathogenesis and progression of heart and kidney disease (cardiorenal metabolic syndrome). It provides an interdisciplinary platform for the advancement of research and clinical practice, focussing on translational issues. Attention is paid to the fact that some metabolic abnormalities cluster with heart and chronic kidney disease, and collectively this is called the cardiorenal metabolic syndrome. Moreover, certain metabolic abnormalities of the heart promote impaired coronary artery endothelial function, diastolic dysfunction and ischemic reconditioning that parallel glomerular hyperfiltration and impairments in proximal tubule handling of sodium and albumin. Another point of focus is the role of the obesity epidemic in promoting the increasing incidence of heart and kidney disease in industrialized countries and the prevailing problems of insufficient exercise and excessive consumption of cheap, unwholesome food in promotion of the cardiorenal metabolic syndrome in both adults and children.
