Health, Risk & Society

ISSN: 1369-8575eISSN: 1469-8331

Health Risk & Society is an international scholarly journal devoted to a theoretical and empirical understanding of the social processes which influence the ways in which health risks are taken, communicated, assessed and managed.Public awareness of risk is associated with the development of high profile media debates about specific risks. Although risk issues arise in a variety of areas, such as technological usage and the environment, they are particularly evident in health. Not only is health a major issue of personal and collective concern, but failure to effectively assess and manage risk is likely to result in health problems.Health, Risk & Society aims to stimulate wider study of the issues by providing a focus for study and publication by academics and practitioners on the relationship between health, risk and society.Health, Risk & Society is an interdisciplinary and intersectoral journal. Contributions are welcomed from a variety of social sciences disciplines, including economics, sociology, psychology and management. The journal particularly encourages the submission of articles exploring the ways in which risk was handled at a variety of levels, e.g. in the community, within various organisations and at national and supranational levels. Articles should be accessible to a variety of audiences, including practitioners and policy-makers.ReadershipHealth, Risk & Society aims to bring together social scientists, practitioners and policy makers who have an interest in risk issues relating to health. These disciplines include; sociology, social policy, management, economics, political science, social and clinical psychology, anthropology, education, social and public health medicine, nursing, social work, law and psychiatry.Peer Review IntegrityAll research articles in this journal, including those in special issues, special sections or supplements, have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two independent referees.DisclaimerTaylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the Content ) contained in its publications. Journal of Cultural Economy

ISSN: 1753-0350eISSN: 1753-0369

Journal of Cultural Economy is part of the Culture, Economy and the Social publishing programme of the ESRC Centre for Research on Socio Cultural Change (CRESC). Its concern is with the role played by various forms of material cultural practice in the organisation of the economy and the social, and of the relations between them. As such it will provide a unique interdisciplinary forum for work on these questions from across the social sciences and humanities. These include the contributions of actor network theory and science studies to debates about the 8216;performativity' of the economy and the social and the parallel discussions about the distributive nature of economic and social agency across networks of things and persons that is evident in social anthropology, and material culture studies. In cultural studies, feminism and sociology, a range of perspectives have been deployed to explore the making up of social and organizational identities, and this has been complemented by approaches to the governance of economies and of the social stimulated by Foucault's work on 8216;governmentality'. This has been paralleled by important historical work on the relations between culture, economy and the social. A renewed focus on material cultures of production and consumption has also been animated by the work of Gilles Deleuze and of Pierre Bourdieu. While all of these approaches to the relations between culture, economy and the social have interacted with and influenced each other, there has been a relative shortage of debate across and between them. Journal of Cultural Economy seeks to remedy this deficiency by providing the premiere forum for debating the relations between culture, economy and the social in all their various manifestations.Peer Review Policy:Published articles in Journal of Cultural Economy have all been subjected to rigorous peer review comprising initial editorial screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two referees. Journal of Postcolonial Writing

ISSN: 1744-9855eISSN: 1744-9863

Journal of Postcolonial Writing is now using ScholarOne Manuscripts8482;. Submit your paper today! The Journal of Postcolonial Writing (previously World Literature Written in English) is an academic journal devoted to the study of literature written in English and published throughout the world. In particular it aims to explore the interface between the postcolonial writing of the modern global era and the economic forces of production which increasingly commodify culture. This approach embraces the deterritorialised nationalisms, the new ethnicities which intersect with and cut across national boundaries, 'new margins' created by global economic practices, global technologies and commodities, and redefinitions of the local that globalisation catalyses. A particular focus is on the reshaping of inner maps of the metropolis through the ethnic, diasporic voices and the alternative and interstitial modes of writing associated with the new margins. The Journal of Postcolonial Writing interrogates assumptions underpinning postcolonial theory and its liberationist rhetoric by focussing upon the discursive practices informing contemporary writing and the impact of the global, the regional, and the local upon each other. Our concern is with the conditions under which a resistant 'global imagination' comes into being. We welcome critical, theoretically informed articles which will address the postcolonial in its relation to the global and open up new perspectives. These can emerge from examining the work of individual writers, critiquing contemporary theories of the postcolonial and globalisation, or revisiting classical texts of literature and canonical theories from a range of postcolonial and global perspectives. In addition Journal of Postcolonial Writing aims to publish:Interviews and profiles of postcolonial writers and theorists.Reviews of critical studies of contemporary writing.Selections of poetry and short prose fiction. Journal of Postcolonial Writing is a member of the Canadian Association of Learned Journals and the Council of Editors of Learned Journals. It is indexed in the American Humanities Index, the MLA International Bibliography, the Journal of Commonwealth Literature and in AUSTLIT, the Australian Literature On-line Database.Disclaimer Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications.
