Journal for General Philosophy of Science

ISSN: 0925-4560eISSN: 1572-8587

The Journal for General Philosophy of Science is a forum for the discussion of a variety of attitudes concerning the philosophy of science. It has as its subject matter the philosophical, especially methodological, ontological, epistemological, anthropological, and ethical foundations of the individual sciences. Particular emphasis is laid on bringing both the natural, the cultural, and the technical sciences into a philosophical context, within which the historical presuppositions and conditions of the current problems of the philosophy of science are also included in the discussion.

The Journal for General Philosophy of Science has been successful in its attempt to serve as a forum that bridges the gap between the different sciences, especially the natural, cultural, and social sciences. One of its purposes is to discuss and contrast the common as well as the different specific methodological and philosophical foundations of the individual sciences, taking into account all currently relevant positions of the philosophy of science.

In recent years considerable insight has been gained into the problems of current philosophy of science by considering the historical dimension of the sciences. This is why more intensive efforts will be made in the future towards the integration of historical and systematic considerations.

The journal contains:articles
discussions
reports on the state of the philosophy of science in individual countries
reviews
a bibliography of the major journals in the field of the history and philosophy of science. The journal is of interest to philosophers, especially philosophers of science, as well as to scholars from the field of the natural, cultural, social and technical sciences who are interested in becoming aware of the philosophical implications of their disciplines and in being stimulated by the transfer of methods, leading ideas, concepts and theories from other fields.<, br/>

First World War Studies

ISSN: 1947-5020eISSN: 1947-5039

First World War Studies is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal that seeks to publish articles that explore comparative, trans-national, and multi-disciplinary strengths evident in the International Society for First World War Studies and pursue as its guiding principles the same intellectual assets. As the Society draws its strengths from graduate students to more experienced scholars, the journal is equally committed to a collegial academic forum open to any scholar irrespective of degree, academic seniority, or disciplinary affiliation. The journal approaches the subject of the First World War without chronological, geographic, or topical constraints. It embraces not merely the period associated with the years between 1914 and 1918, but seeks to include the diplomatic, political, social, cultural, and military complexities evident before, during, and most certainly after the cessation of hostilities. The journal will contribute significantly to the ongoing debates concerning the origins and causes, conduct, and implications of the First World War. First World War Studies is the only scholarly journal devoted to this extraordinary and controversial conflict and maintains an Editorial Board that consists of many internationally recognized scholars. Journal of Cellular Physiology

ISSN: 0021-9541eISSN: 1097-4652

The Journal of Cellular Physiology publishes reports of high biological significance in areas of eukaryotic cell biology and physiology, focusing on those articles that adopt a molecular mechanistic approach to investigate cell structure and function. There is appreciation for the application of cellular, biochemical, molecular and in vivo genetic approaches, as well as the power of genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and systems biology. In particular, the Journal encourages submission of high-interest papers investigating the genetic and epigenetic regulation of proliferation and phenotype as well as cell fate and lineage commitment by growth factors, cytokines and their cognate receptors and signal transduction pathways that influence the expression, integration and activities of these physiological mediators. Similarly, the Journal encourages submission of manuscripts exploring the regulation of growth and differentiation by cell adhesion molecules in addition to the interplay between these processes and those induced by growth factors and cytokines. Studies on the genes and processes that regulate cell cycle progression and phase transition in eukaryotic cells, and the mechanisms that determine whether cells enter quiescence, proliferate or undergo apoptosis are also welcomed. Submission of papers that address contributions of the extracellular matrix to cellular phenotypes and physiological control as well as regulatory mechanisms governing fertilization, embryogenesis, gametogenesis, cell fate, lineage commitment, differentiation, development and dynamic parameters of cell motility are encouraged. Finally, the investigation of stem cells and changes that differentiate cancer cells from normal cells including studies on the properties and functions of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes will remain as one of the major interests of the Journal.

Journal of Robotic Surgery

ISSN: 1863-2483eISSN: 1863-2491

The birth of the Journal of Robotic Surgery is perfectly timed as the field of robotics has evolved past its infancy and has proven itself to be a useful and lasting innovation. The use of robotics in surgery is now broad-based across multiple surgical specialties and will undoubtedly expand over the next decades as new technical innovation and techniques increase the applicability of its use. Currently, there is unprecedented enthusiasm worldwide for the application of robotics in surgery. However, there does seem to be a void in literary resources supporting the growth of this new field of surgery. Robotic articles are published in a variety of broad surgical journals, but none is seen as the leading resource for robotic surgical education. The aim of the Journal is to become the leading worldwide journal for publications of articles related to robotic surgery, encompassing surgical simulation and integrated imaging techniques. The journal provides a centralized, focused resource for physicians wishing to publish their experience or those wishing to educate themselves of the most up to date findings. The scope includes: Adult and pediatric urology: prostate cancer, bladder cancer, renal cancer, pyeloplasty, bladder reconstruction General surgery: esophageal, gastric, bariatric, liver, pancreatic, colon Cardiac: bypass, valves, anomalies Gynecology: perinatal, oncologic (ovarian, uterine) , benign (myomas, bladder suspension) ENT: cancer Orthopedics: reconstruction Neurosurgery: spine, brain Structure/ Content Reviews Original articles Techniques Tricks of the trade Video library resource Section focusing on private sector Review of meetings and books Current opinion Robotic survey Training and Education Simulat, ion and imaging
