MCN, The American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing, the only journal for both pediatric and perinatal nurses, has been a leader in the field for over 30 years.MCN's mission is to provide the timeliest information to nurses practicing in perinatal, neonatal, midwifery, and pediatric specialties. MCN focuses on today's major issues and high priority problems in maternal/child nursing, women's health, and family nursing with extensive coverage of advanced practice healthcare issues relating to infants and young children. Each issue features peer-reviewed, clinically relevant articles. The Journal of Gene Medicine publishes high quality original articles and reviews on the science of gene transfer and its applications in gene and cell therapy. Key areas of interest are the design and production of vectors, delivery and targeting, gene expression and regulation, preclinical studies including animal models, developmental aspects and clinical trials. The editors particularly welcome articles dealing with the methodological aspects of gene transfer in vivo, notably in the context of human studies. Papers presenting research into the mechanisms underlying gene transfer; the application and refinement of new technologies such as RNAi, stem cells and allied approaches such as DNA vaccines; or addressing more fundamental biological issues which could lead to more effective gene transfer are also encouraged. Computational Science is a rapidly growing multi- and interdisciplinary field that uses advanced computing and data analysis to understand and solve complex problems. It has reached a level of predictive capability that now firmly complements the traditional pillars of experimentation and theory.The recent advances in experimental techniques such as detectors, on-line sensor networks and high-resolution imaging techniques, have opened up new windows into physical and biological processes at many levels of detail. The resulting data explosion allows for detailed data driven modeling and simulation.This new discipline in science combines computational thinking, modern computational methods, devices and collateral technologies to address problems far beyond the scope of traditional numerical methods.Computational science typically unifies three distinct elements:• Modeling, Algorithms and Simulations (e.g. numerical and non-numerical, discrete and continuous);• Software developed to solve science (e.g., biological, physical, and social), engineering, medicine, and humanities problems;• Computer and information science that develops and optimizes the advanced system hardware, software, networking, and data management components (e.g. problem solving environments).The Journal of Computational Science aims to be an international platform to exchange novel research results in simulation based science across all scientific disciplines. It publishes advanced innovative, interdisciplinary research where complex multi-scale, multi-domain problems in science and engineering are solved, integrating sophisticated numerical methods, computation, data, networks, and novel devices.The journal welcomes original, unpublished high quality contributions in the field of computational science at large, addressing one or more of the aforementioned elements.

Environmental Pollution is an international journal that seeks to publish papers that report results from original, novel research that addresses significant environmental pollution issues and problems and contribute new knowledge to science.The editors encourage high quality papers where the pollutants are clearly defined and measured and can be directly related to biological, ecological, and human health effects. This includes air, water, and soil pollution and climate change. New techniques for the study and measurement of pollutants are also encouraged. Papers, such as meta analyses, that report findings from re-examination and interpretation of existing data are welcome Modeling papers are also welcome Critical review papers are also of interest as are letters to the editor.The editors discourage papers that describe results from routine surveys and monitoring programs that are primarily of local interest. Also discouraged are papers about reductionist toxicology, sewage, waste and wastewater management, agronomy, biomonitoring , remediation, bioremeditation, phytoremediation, and general air, water and soil quality. Nanotechnology aims to publish original research at the forefront of nanoscale science and technology across all disciplines. The journal’s scope encompasses the study of both fundamental phenomena at the nanoscale and applications of these phenomena. ‘Nanotechnology’ is taken to include the ability to individually address, control, and modify structures, materials and devices with nanometre precision, and the synthesis of such structures into systems of micro- and macroscopic dimensions such as MEMS based devices.
To be publishable in the journal, articles must meet the highest scientific quality standards, contain significant and original new science, and make substantial advances in nanoscale science and technology. Research on the synthesis of materials should contain a significant innovation either in methodology, materials or demonstrated application. To ensure high editorial standards, every submitted article is initially assessed by the editors of the journal before being sent to independent referees. Articles can be rejected without refereeing after this initial assessment by the editors. Due to the high volume of papers that we receive, we regret that we are unable to provide feedback on individual articles. Authors appealing against the decision will have to demonstrate to the Editorial Board of the journal at nano@ioppublishing.org that their paper contains significant new science of high quality and interest.

This journal aims to provide a medium for presentation and discussion of the latest developments in research, design, fabrication and in-service experience relating to marine structures, i.e., all structures of steel, concrete, light alloy or composite construction having an interface with the sea, including ships, fixed and mobile offshore platforms, submarine and submersibles, pipelines, subsea systems for shallow and deep ocean operations and coastal structures such as piers.Marine Structures covers:• Definition of the ocean environment and of loads exerted by waves, currents, winds, tides and ice;• Seabed foundations and structural interaction;• Evaluation of static and dynamic structural response including collapse behaviour;• collision mechanics;• Fatigue and fracture;• Materials (and their selection), corrosion and other forms of degradation;• Formulation and application of design methods and criteria including use of reliability analysis, optimisation techniques and CAD;• Inspection and structural monitoring, repair and maintenance;• Fabrication, launching, installation and decommissioning techniques.Papers submitted to the journal must be original and will be refereed to a high standard. They may include new research findings, together with developments in design methodology and fabrication techniques. Priority will be given to papers which are likely to have an impact on design. The Journal of Biomedical Informatics (formerly Computers and Biomedical Research) has been designed to reflect a commitment to high-quality original research papers, reviews, and commentaries in the area of biomedical informatics. Although we publish articles motivated by applications in the biomedical sciences (for example, clinical medicine, health care, population health, imaging, and translational bioinformatics), the journal emphasizes reports of new methodologies and techniques that have general applicability and that form the basis for the evolving science of biomedical informatics. Articles on medical devices; evaluations of implemented systems (including clinical trials of information technologies); or papers that provide insight into a biological process, a specific disease, or treatment options would generally be more suitable for publication in other venues. Papers on applications of signal processing and image analysis are often more suitable for biomedical engineering journals, although we do publish papers that emphasize the information management and knowledge representation/modeling issues that arise in the storage and use of biological signals and images. System descriptions are welcome if they illustrate and substantiate the underlying methodology that is the principal focus of the report and an effort is made to address the generalizability and/or range of application of that methodology.The methods that are the focus of JBI papers may be drawn from any of a number of component sciences in the field of biomedical informatics. Although the methods are often related to the field of computer science, many JBI papers will emphasize innovative techniques from other fields, such as decision science, statistics, cognitive science, psychology, information science, or management science.
