Biochemical Pharmacology is devoted to publishing original work on the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs and nontherapeutic xenobiotics. Its audience are scientists engaged in drug discovery and in identifying drug mechanisms of action. All areas of pharmacology are represented in the journal, including drug metabolism and kinetics. It is of particular value to those interested in anti-inflammatory drugs, cancer chemotherapy, neuropharmacology and cardiovascular pharmacology.While particular emphasis is placed on reporting findings that relate to the actions and metabolism of drugs and toxic substances at the biochemical and molecular levels, submissions in the areas of behavioral and physiological pharmacology and toxicology are also encouraged if they describe studies directed at defining mechanisms of action.Reports based on experiments conducted with mixtures, plant or animal extracts will not be considered for publication unless the chemical structures and concentrations of all substances are known and the compounds are obtained from commercial suppliers.The journal publishes the following types of reports:(1) Full-length Research Papers. These contain the results of original research on an issue of relevance to the field of pharmacology.(2) Commentaries. Biochemical Systematics and Ecology is devoted to the publication of original papers and reviews, both submitted and invited, in two subject areas: (i) the application of biochemistry to problems relating to systematic biology of organisms (biochemical systematics); (ii) the role of biochemistry in interactions between organisms or between an organism and its environment (biochemical ecology). Papers will be grouped in each issue according to subject area. Research papers should generally be of completed investigations. Preliminary reports will be published where findings are considered to be of sufficient interest to justify rapid publication. In addition, short reports of new sources of known compounds (New Source Reports) will be accepted where they can be justified in terms of systematic or ecological significance. These reports must be written to a standard format.One volume will appear annually and eleven issues will constitute a volume. All manuscripts should be sent directly to the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Monique Simmonds. Before preparing their contributors, Authors are earnestly requested to study the latest Notes to Contributors, which were last published in Vol. 31, No. 5 (copies of these instructions are available from the Executive Editors.) The monthly journal Biochemistry (Moscow) is the international English edition of the Russian scientific research journal Biokhimiya. Biokhimiya was founded by the Russian Academy of Sciences (formerly Academy of Sciences of the USSR) and the Russian Biochemical Society in 1936. Since 1956 Biokhimiya has been followed by its English translation. The Russian and English editions are now issued simultaneously. Biochemistry Research International is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of biochemistry.

Biochemistry and Biophysics Reports publishes original research in all aspects of Biochemistry, Biophysics and related areas like Molecular and Cell Biology. The primary criteria for acceptance are that the work is original, scientifically and technically sound and provides valuable knowledge to life sciences research.

Biochemistry and Biophysics Reports welcomes cutting-edge science and in-depth studies from authors seeking open access publishing. In addition, we welcome promising though more preliminary, descriptive and small scale results if they have potential to stimulate and/or contribute to future research. BBA Gene Regulatory Mechanisms includes reports that describe novel insights into mechanisms of transcriptional, post-transcriptional and translational gene regulation. Special emphasis is placed on papers that identify epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation, including chromatin, modification, and remodeling.
