Continental Shelf Research publishes articles dealing with the physical oceanography, sedimentology, geology, chemistry, biology and ecology of the shallow marine environment, from coastal and estuarine water out to the shelf break. Papers that are published present results from both fundamental, original research as well as applied, or directed research.Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary process-oriented contributions, and encouragement is given to the publication of the results of innovative experimental studies with more general applicability.Continental Shelf Research publishes occasional review articles. It also includes a section on Notes, Instrumentation and Methods. Furthermore, papers are open for written discussion for up to three months following publication and both the discussion and the author's response are published.Continental Shelf Research also publishes special issues dedicated to results of large interdisciplinary studies or topical issues on specific subjects.Note to Authors: When considering submission of a manuscript to CSR, bear in mind that recent analyses show that published papers are downloaded by scientists from over 90 countries world-wide. This level of usage emphasizes the need for authors to present their research results in a broad context, to be of interest to this international community. Likewise, when suggesting the four reviewers for a manuscript, an international perspective of individual scientists (not necessarily affiliated with CSR) should be considered.

While this may not amount to a formal 'code of conduct', these fundamental principles with respect to the authors' paper are that the paper should: i) be the authors' own original work, which has not been previously published elsewhere, ii) reflect the authors' own research and analysis and do so in a truthful and complete manner, iii) properly credit the meaningful contributions of co-authors and co-researchers, iv) not be submitted to more than one journal for consideration, and v) be appropriately placed in the context of prior and existing research. Of equal importance are ethical guidelines dealing with research methods and research funding, including issues dealing with informed consent, research subject privacy rights, conflicts of interest, and sources of funding. While it may not be possible to draft a 'code' that applies adequately to all instances and circumstances, we believe it useful to outline our expectations of authors and procedures that the Journal will employ in the event of questions concerning author conduct. With respect to conflicts of interest, the Publisher now requires authors to declare any conflicts of interest that relate to papers accepted for publication in this Journal. A conflict of interest may exist when an author or the author's institution has a financial or other relationship with other people or organizations that may inappropriately influence the author's work. A conflict can be actual or potential and full disclosure to the Journal is the safest course. Current Opinion in Colloid and Interface Science (COCIS) is an international journal focused on the science related to interfaces and on the behavior of colloids and amphiphiles (surfactants, polar lipids, polymers, and biopolymers) in solution. The journal also encompasses molecular and nanoscopic aspects of materials science, industrial applications of colloids, and biologically-relevant systems. COCIS is not a primary journal; rather it seeks to guide the researcher through the maze of current published literature and to highlight areas and papers which, in the opinion of the reviewers, are of special interest and significance.Topics covered include: Applications, Theories and Simulations, Microscopy Methods, NMR, X-ray and Neutron Scattering, Surface Analysis Techniques, Emulsions and Microemulsions, Liquid Crystals, Thin Films and Foams, Polyelectrolytes, Reactivity in Colloidal Systems and at Interfaces, Surfactants, Nanostructures, Food Colloids, Biological Colloids and Interfaces, Colloidal Dispersions, Self Assembly, Drug Delivery, Electrokinetics, Rheology, and, Wetting and Spreading. For each of the above areas, Section Editors have been appointed, who will commission expert scientists to write an informed and critical article on a topic within that general field. The article is not intended to be a comprehensive compilation of the recent relevant literature, but rather is a personal article by the contributor(s), which sets out to both inform the reader of the major developments in the area, and to identify those papers which in the opinion of the author(s), have made the greatest impact on the field. Normally, the period covered by the review will be the previous two to three years.

Fundamental plant sciences is increasingly becoming a collaborative domain, with projects for example including physics, mathematics and chemistry. This is largely fuelled by the last decade's many technical advances, allowing for more discoveries but also creating new challenges, such as data storage, analysis and predictions. Interdisciplinary collaborations are often the solution to these challenges.
This journal aims to acknowledge and encourage interdisciplinary research in fundamental plant sciences. It will publish original research papers and method papers in plant research fields such as systems biology, cell biology, genetics, epigenetics, mathematical modeling, omics, signal transduction, plant-microbe interactions, synthetic biology, developmental biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics research, and big data in plant biology. High-quality review articles are also welcome.
To further encourage collaboration in the community, all accepted authors of Research articles are required to make their data accessible to the public. This will avoid duplicate projects and speed up the progress of science. The journal will actively link and cooperate with some of these databases, as well as with computational infrastructure. Data should always be submitted in raw data format, and should be submitted preferentially in publicly accessible resources maintained by for example EBI, EMBL, or NCBI data. Which data repository is used is up to the authors, however please visit

Società Scientifica affiliata: Italian District (10), International College of Dentists (ICD), European Section.Historical Background: Dental Cadmos (formerly Kadmos) was founded in 1933 by Commander Giacomo Jacomucci, (1895-1962), who directed the journal for about 30 years, as the first Italian dentistry journal addressed to clinicians and dental technicians with an initial print run of 7000 copies. In June 1941, during the Second World War, the journal had to change its title to Cadmos, due to the restrictions of the fascist regime which banned any foreign reference and terminology from Italian language. As a consequence of the War the print run decreased to 6500 copies. Although efforts were made to continue publication of the journal, by the end of the year the editorial office had to move to the neutral Republic of San Marino and the journal's title changed to Dental Cosmos, picking up the name of an historical American dentistry journal. In 1945 the journal's publication returned to Italy and its title was finally changed to Dental Cadmos (as a combination of Kadmos and Dental Cosmos). Dental Cadmos has always focused on professional development and continuing education, providing highlights in clinical practice, research and developments in the field of dental science. Throughout the years the journal became a main point of reference in dentistry. In the early 80s Dental Cadmos was the first dentistry journal to provide programs on continuing medical education by introducing a complete and didactic-type review article (Dossier) analyzing in details the state of the art of a particular topic in dentistry and involving the readers with specific questionnaires to test their comprehension and knowledge of the presented topic. With 15000 certified copies per issue it is probably the best known and appreciated Italian journal in its category. Dental Cadmos used to be indexed in MEDLINE until the early 90s and is currently indexed in Scopus and Embase. Dental Cadmos is a publication addressed to clinicians, scientists and students of dentistry and is mainly distributed in Italy.Aims and Scope: Dental Cadmos currently acknowledges the contribution of the most important authors and researchers in the country and can proudly ensure the coverage of all diverse topics in dentistry by dedicating particular attention to high standards studies. The editorial structure of the journal allows readers to find complete and diverse coverage of topics in dentistry including: management of dental disease, long-term clinical trials, evaluation of dental equipment, new experimental techniques, epidemiology and oral health, dental biomaterials science, restorative dentistry, periodontology, endodontology, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics, dental education and forensic dentistry. Dental Cadmos contributes to the professional update of its readers by offering 2 different CME courses per year structured in accordance to the Italian Ministry of Health's educational requirements.Aegis: In 2010 the Journal received the aegis of the International College of Dentists (European Section, District 10).

• Engineering research in response to unique constraints imposed by poverty.
• Assessment of pro-poor technology solutions, including field performance, consumer adoption, and end-user impacts.
• Novel technologies or tools for measuring behavioral, economic, and social outcomes in low-resource settings.
• Lessons from the field, especially null results from field trials and technical failure analyses.
• Rigorous analysis of existing development "solutions" through an engineering or economic lens.
Although the journal focuses on quantitative, scientific approaches, it is intended to be suitable for a wider audience of development practitioners and policy makers, with evidence that can be used to improve decision-making. It also will be useful for engineering and applied economics faculty who conduct research or teach in "technology for development."
The journal maintains high standards for publication, in terms of methodological rigor and contribution to the literature. It prioritizes novel, experimental work that directly integrates engineering research with statistically rigorous methods from the social sciences. The Editors will consider review articles that cover significant, emerging trends in engineering for global development. Published papers are expected to be applied in nature; however, they should generate fundamental knowledge that advances basic fields of science and engineering. Additionally, Dev Eng editors recognize that there is a lack of high-quality work from researchers in developing countries published in leading international journals. To encourage and facilitate submissions from authors in low to middle income countries, the journal will offer mentorship support to help authors overcome barriers such as language differences, writing skills and familiarity with the publishing process.
