PLoS Computational Biology features works of exceptional significance that further our understanding of living systems at all scales—from molecules and cells, to patient populations and ecosystems—through the application of computational methods. Readers include life and computational scientists, who can take the important findings presented here to the next level of discovery.Research articles that primarily describe new methods and offer only limited biological insight will be considered only in those exceptional instances in which the method is expected to significantly impact the field of computational biology, typically making substantial breakthroughs in areas of demonstrated importance. Research articles modeling aspects of biological systems should demonstrate both scientific novelty and profound new biological insights. Research articles describing improved or routine methods, models, software, and databases will not be considered by PLoS Computational Biology, and may be more appropriate for PLoS ONE.Generally, reliability and significance of biological discovery are validated and enriched by experimental studies. Experimental validation is not required for publication, however, nor does experimental validation of a modest biological discovery render a manuscript suitable for PLoS Computational Biology.For all submissions, authors must clearly provide detail, data, and software to ensure readers' ability to reproduce the models, methods, and results.Authors unsure of whether their work is within the scope of the journal should submit a presubmission inquiry.

Performance Evaluation functions as a leading journal in the area of modeling, measurement, and evaluation of performance aspects of computing and communication systems. The journal, published bimonthly, provides English translations of selected new original Russian papers on the theoretical aspects of numerical analysis and the application of mathematical methods to simulation and modelling. The SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems (SIADS) publishes research articles on the mathematical analysis and modeling of dynamical systems and its application to the physical, engineering, life, and social sciences. SIADS is published in electronic format only. The use of color, animated visualizations, and internal linking is strongly encouraged where it enhances the exposition, but papers without these enhancements are accepted as well; review is based on research content.Submitted articles should contribute either to the theory of dynamical systems, to the understanding of dynamical systems phenomena through experiment or numerical simulation, or to the use of dynamical systems methods in applications.

IMULATION: Transactions of The Society for Modeling and Simulation International is a fully peer reviewed international journal that publishes original research and review articles devoted to theory and applications, all with clear relevance to general modeling and simulation issues.In addition to building the knowledge base in theory, methodology and technology, the journal also aims to help professionals and researchers (particularly those involved in multidisciplinary projects) apply advances in modeling and simulation to their application areas.

The purpose of Sequential Analysis is to contribute to theoretical and applied aspects of sequential methodologies in all areas of statistical science. Published papers highlight the development of new and important sequential approaches.Interdisciplinary articles that emphasize the methodology of practical value to applied researchers and statistical consultants are highly encouraged. Papers that cover contemporary areas of applications including animal abundance, bioequivalence, communication science, computer simulations, data mining, directional data, disease mapping, environmental sampling, genome, imaging, microarrays, networking, parallel processing, pest management, sonar detection, spatial statistics, tracking, and engineering are deemed especially important. The journal Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory provides a forum for original, high-quality papers dealing with any aspect of systems simulation and modelling.The journal aims at being a reference and a powerful tool to all those professionally active and/or interested in the methods and applications of simulation. Submitted papers will be peer reviewed and must significantly contribute to modelling and simulation in general or use modelling and simulation in application areas.Paper submission is solicited on:• theoretical aspects of modelling and simulation including formal modelling, model-checking, random number generators, sensitivity analysis, variance reduction techniques, experimental design, meta-modelling, methods and algorithms for validation and verification, selection and comparison procedures etc.;• methodology and application of modelling and simulation in any area, including computer systems, networks, real-time and embedded systems, mobile and intelligent agents, manufacturing and transportation systems, management, engineering, biomedical engineering, economics, ecology and environment, education, transaction handling, etc.;• simulation languages and environments including those, specific to distributed computing, grid computing, high performance computers or computer networks, etc.;• distributed and real-time simulation, simulation interoperability;• tools for high performance computing simulation, including dedicated architectures and parallel computing.Papers covering applications should be presented in such a way that the separate steps in the process, such as model development, computer implementation of the derived model, mathematical and scalability problems encountered and validation/verification with real data become transparent to all readers.Theory may play an important role in a paper, but it should be presented in the context of its applicability to the work being described. For application-oriented readers it is essential that theoretical papers should cover the following aspects: why the theory is relevant and how it can be applied, what is the novelty of the approach and what are the benefits and objectives of a new theory, method or algorithm; what experience has been obtained in applying the approach and what innovations did result.(Variations from these prototypes, such as comprehensive surveys of active research areas, critical reviews of existing work, and book reviews, will be considered provided they make a clear contribution to the field.)Special issues on specific topics will be published from time to time; proposals for such issues are invited.
