The Journal of Zoology publishes high-quality research papers that are original and are of broad interest. The Editors seek studies that are hypothesis-driven and interdisciplinary in nature. Papers on animal behaviour, ecology, physiology, anatomy, developmental biology, evolution, systematics, genetics and genomics will be considered; research that explores the interface between these disciplines is strongly encouraged. Studies dealing with geographically and/or taxonomically restricted topics should test general hypotheses, describe novel findings or have broad implications. The Journal of Zoology aims to maintain an effective but fair peer-review process that recognises research quality as a combination of the relevance, approach and execution of a research study. The journal also welcomes reviews and forum papers on current issues, particularly where topics of a complex or poorly understood field are synthesized. Prospective authors should submit a 300-word abstract, a list of up to 20 key references, and a cover letter (two pages maximum) outlining what will be discussed in the article. Proposals for reviews should be submitted to journalofzoology@zsl.org. The submission of completed review manuscripts without prior consultation with the Editor is discouraged. The Journal of Zoology is a member of and subscribes to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics. Papers that report experimental work must comply with the standards laid down by British national or equivalent legislation and the research permit number must be stated in the acknowledgments section of your manuscript.

The primary goal of Experimental Eye Research is to publish original research papers on all aspects of experimental biology of the eye and ocular tissues that seek to define the mechanisms of normal function and/or disease. Studies of ocular tissues that encompass the disciplines of cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, immunology or microbiology are most welcomed. Manuscripts that are purely clinical or in a surgical area of ophthalmology are not appropriate for submission to Experimental Eye Research and if received will be returned without review.Most manuscripts published are original articles describing new research findings. For review purposes the journal is divided into four sections: Aqueous Humor and Blood Flow; Cornea and Ocular Surface; Lens; and Retina and Choroid, each with their own section editors and a roster of Executive Editors that have expertise in these specialized areas.The Journal also publishes review articles, short communications, letters-to-the-editor, and methods papers. History and Philosophy of Logic contains articles, notes and book reviews dealing with the history and philosophy of logic. 'Logic' is understood to be any volume of knowledge which was regarded as logic at the time in question. 'History' refers back to ancient times and also to work in this century; however, the Editor will not accept articles, including review articles, on very recent work on a topic. 'Philosophy' refers to broad and general questions: specialist articles which are now classed as 'philosophical logic' will not be published. The Editor will consider articles on the relationship between logic and other branches of knowledge, but the component of logic must be substantial. Topics with no temporal specification are to be interpreted both historically and philosophically. Each topic includes its own metalogic where appropriate. A tutorial article in the IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials should be designed to help the reader to become familiar with and learn something specific about a chosen topic. In contrast, the term survey, as applied here, is defined to mean a survey of the literature. A survey article in IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials should provide a comprehensive review of developments in a selected area, covering its development from its inception to its current state and beyond, and illustrating its development through liberal citations from the literature. Both tutorials and surveys should be tutorial in nature and should be written in a style comprehensible to readers outside the specialty of the article.

Life Writing, one of the leading journals in the field of biography and autobiography, has the unique and unusual policy of carrying both scholarly articles and critically informed personal narrative. The journal has three sections: Academic Articles, 8220;Reflections8221; and Reviews. In the Reflections section, we hope to find the reflective/discursive voice leading the minor theme of the autobiographical. However, fiction, ficto-memoir and poetry are not accepted. Our editorial board comprises leaders in the field of life writing practice, such as Paul John Eakin, Sidonie Smith, Lila Abu-Lughod and Ruth Behar. Communication Booknotes Quarterly is a review service for books, reports, documents, and electronic publications on all aspects of mass communication, telecommunication, and the information industry. This journal enjoys the talents of some two dozen members who make up an active board of contributors. Composites Science and Technology publishes refereed original articles on the fundamental and applied science of engineering composites. The primary focus of this journal is on polymeric matrix composites with reinforcements/fillers ranging from nano- to macro-scale. CSTE encourages manuscripts reporting unique, innovative contributions to the physics, chemistry, materials science and applied mechanics aspects of advanced composites.Besides traditional fiber reinforced composites, novel composites with significant potential for engineering applications are encouraged. These may include, but are not limited to, nanocomposites, biomedical composites, green/eco composites, energy composites, and composites mimicking natural materials. Manuscripts dealing with multi-scale and multi-functional issues and performance as well as interdisciplinary approaches to the study of new generation composite materials are welcome. Analytical work should be validated. Publication of manuscripts reporting routine processing, synthesis and property characterization are not a priority of CSTE.In order to expedite the handling of submissions, manuscripts will be given a preliminary review prior to the full reviewing process to evaluate their suitability for CSTE. General Review articles as well as Feature articles covering topics of major interests to the readers will be presented at regular intervals, often at the invitation of the Editors. Aims & Scope: Rare Diseases is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality research addressing the underlying mechanisms of rare diseases. In the US, a disease or disorder is considered rare when it affects less than 200,000 people at any given time. In the EU, a disease or disorder is considered rare when it affects less than 1 in 2,000 people. Our goals are to publish original research articles and to raise awareness about rare diseases. Rare Diseases covers a range of topics including studies of disease-related proteins, analyses of rare disease mutations, gene expression analyses of rare disease genes, genotype-phenotype correlations, studies of animal models, and novel clinical findings.
