Statistical Papers provides a forum for the presentation and critical assessment of statistical methods. In particular, the journal encourages the discussion of methodological foundations as well as potential applications. This journal stresses statistical methods that have broad applications; however, it does give special attention to statistical methods that are relevant to the economic and social sciences. In addition to original research papers, readers will find survey articles, short notes, reports on statistical software, problem section, and book reviews.Officially cited as: Stat Papers

'Supportive Care in Cancer' provides members of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and all other interested individuals, groups and institutions with the most recent scientific and social information on all aspects of supportive care in cancer patients. The journal primarily covers medical, technical and surgical topics concerning supportive therapy and care which may supplement or substitute basic cancer treatment at all stages of the disease. Nursing, rehabilitative, psychosocial and spiritual issues of support is also covered.

The journal publishes papers and reviews from the field of Ancient Eastern Philology (Sumerian, Akkadian, Hittite, Hurrian, Elamite et al.), and religious, legal, economic and social history, together with Middle Eastern archaeology and art history. The main geographical areas covered are Mesopotamia, Northern Syria, Anatolia, Ancient Armenia and Elam; some attention is also paid to more remote fringe areas. The period covered encompasses the fourth to first millenia B. C. All articles are peer-reviewed.

The International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids publishes refereed papers describing significant developments in computational methods that are applicable and relevant to cutting edge scientific and engineering problems in fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, micro and bio fluidics, and fluid-structure interaction. Numerical methods for solving ancillary equations, such as transport and advection and diffusion, are also relevant. The Editors encourage contributions in the areas of multi-physics, multi-disciplinary and multi-scale problems involving fluid subsystems, verification and validation, uncertainty quantification, and model reduction. Numerical examples that illustrate the described methods or their accuracy are in general expected. Discussions of papers already in print are also considered. Papers dealing strictly with applications of existing methods must clearly identify and demonstrate the novelty of the approach and, in addition, add to the body of knowledge of numerical methods in fluids. The journal publishes full-length papers, which should normally be less than 25 journal pages in length. Two-part papers are discouraged unless considered necessary by the Editors.

Machine Learning discovers fundamental functional relationships between variables and ensembles of variables in systems. The merging of the disciplines of Machine Learning and Cybernetics is aimed at the discovery of various forms of interaction between systems through diverse mechanisms of learning from data.

The International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics (IJMLC) focuses on the key research problems emerging at the junction of machine learning and cybernetics and serves as a broad forum for rapid dissemination of the latest advancements in the area. The International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture is devoted to advances in scientific understanding of essential mechanics of processes and machines applied to the manufacture of engineering components, mainly in metals, but also in composites, ceramics and other structural/functional materials. It does not deal with large-scale natural organic materials. To this end coverage is given to a range of topics that includes:•Essential mechanics of processes involving material removal, accretion and deformation, in solid, semi-solid or particulate form•Performance characteristics of machine tools and machine tool work-piece systems•Tool design, utilization and failure•Significant scientific development of existing or new processes and machines•Approaches to added value through geometrical/microstructural precision•Micro manufactureThe above list is not exhaustive and papers on other topics associated with process science/technology or manufacturing hardware are welcome. Significant and useful advance of the current state of knowledge is an essential factor and it is important that papers are presented in a manner that will be appreciated by both academics and practising engineers. It is unlikely that papers dealing with theory or modelling alone will be acceptable, unless a significant proven advance in scientific/technological knowledge is demonstrated. Likewise, papers in which the use of methodology predominates over technological advance would probably be rejected. Normally, multipart papers are not acceptable.
