Journal of Hydro-environment Research

ISSN: 1570-6443eISSN: 1876-4444
The journal aims to provide an international platform for the dissemination of research and engineering applications related to water and hydraulic problems in the Asia-Pacific region. The journal provides a wide distribution at affordable subscription rate, as well as a rapid reviewing and publication time. The journal particularly encourages papers from young researchers.

Papers that require extensive language editing, qualify for editorial assistance with American Journal Experts, a Language Editing Company that Elsevier recommends. Authors submitting to this journal are entitled to a 10% discount.

The journal welcomes papers in all topics of hydraulics, in particular articles on sustainable water management, water-health issues, environmental hydraulics, eco-hydraulics, coastal engineering and integration of hydraulics with hydrology. Inter-disciplinary problems and linkage of theory to field application are particularly encouraged. Solutions of water problems in the form of prediction models, flow simulations, engineering systems, monitoring, management strategies covering basic scientific investigations and/or experimental studies of flow behaviour, hydrodynamics, fate and transport of aquatic constituents, and related biological and chemical processes are all within the scope of the Journal.

The unique features of the Asia-Pacific region in terms of population density, economic growth, landscape, tradition and history require special treatment of water problems in the region. Each research article in the journal will contain a section describing actual or potential applications to the Asia-Pacific region. This will provide an effective forum for technical exchanges, joint projects, and technology transfer.

In addition to research articles, the journal also publishes review papers, invited papers, book reviews and technical communications. Special issues containing selected papers presented at the biennial IAHR-APD Congresses, in particular the IAHR-APD award papers, will be a regular feature of the journal.

Research articles: should be original contributions reporting a complete research work leading to the understanding and/or application of hydraulic knowledge based on theoretical, experimental, computational and/or other approaches. Papers combining theory and experiments or combining basic and applied research are strongly welcome.

Review papers: cover all important issues in hydraulics and water problems, and their application.

Technical communications: report large-scale or innovative hydraulic or water-related projects/issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Communications discussing scientific and technical views on particular issues and problems are also encouraged.

Invited papers: provide a forum for experienced researchers to share their experience and expertise to the Asia-Pacific forum.

Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering

ISSN: 1741-5977eISSN: 1741-5985

When it is possible to determine governing equation(s), shape(s) and size(s) of the domain(s), boundary and initial conditions, material properties of the media contained in the field, and internal sources and external forces or inputs, then the analysis determining the unknown field is considered mathematically well-posed and solvable. If any of these elements are unknown or unavailable, then the field problem becomes incompletely defined (ill-posed) and is of an indirect (or inverse) type.Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering provides an international forum for the discussion of conceptual ideas and methods for the practical solution of applied inverse problems. The Journal aims to address the needs of practising engineers, mathematicians and researchers and to serve as a focal point for the quick communication of ideas. Topics include:Shape design: determination of shape, size and location of domains (shape identification or optimization in acoustics, aerodynamics, electromagnets, etc; detection of voids and cracks).Material properties: determination of physical properties of media.Boundary values/initial values: identification of the proper boundary conditions and/or initial conditions (tomographic problems involving X-rays, ultrasonics, optics, thermal sources etc; determination of thermal, stress/strain, electromagnetic, fluid flow etc. boundary conditions on inaccessible boundaries; determination of initial chemical composition, etc.).Forces and sources: determination of the unknown external forces or inputs acting on a domain (structural dynamic modification and reconstruction) and internal concentrated and distributed sources/sinks (sources of heat, noise, electromagnetic radiation, etc.).Governing equations: inference of analytic forms of partial and/or integral equations governing the variation of measured field quantities. Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering is a unique source of information in this new field that will offer researchers the opportunity to publish their ideas in a single journal. Papers should provide non-trivial examples of practical applications. Multidisciplinary applied papers are particularly welcome. Nature Reviews Chemistry

eISSN: 2397-3358

Nature Reviews Chemistry is an online-only journal for the weekly publication of Reviews, Perspectives and Comments in all disciplines within chemistry.

Our Reviews aim to be balanced and objective analyses of the selected topic – with descriptions of relevant scientific literature and discussions that are easy to grasp for recent graduates in any chemistry-related discipline, as well as informing principal investigators and industry-based research scientists of the latest advances. Reviews should provide the authors' insight into future directions and their opinion of the major challenges faced by researchers in the field.

Perspectives – as the name suggests – take a look at a topic from a slightly different angle. They may offer more personal viewpoints, explain the historical background to a topic, or discuss some of the social, ethical or environmental factors related to chemistry research in academia and industry.

Our Comments address topical issues in chemistry — the aim is to cover subjects that are of interest to chemists generally that are not necessarily focussed on the results or practice of chemistry research. This may include, but is not limited to, discussions of education in chemistry and the practicalities of research outside the academic environment.

Reviews, Perspectives and Comments are commissioned by the editorial team.
