Javnost—The Public, Journal of the European Institute for Communication and Culture was established in 1994 as a platform for social scientists all over the world to address, promote, share, and discuss problems, issues and developments of publicness on international and interdisciplinary levels, to stimulate the development of theory and research in the field, and to help understand and bridge the differences between cultures.

Javnost—The Public publishes original research papers on all aspects of publicness with strong theoretical foundations. The research presented must transcend the limits of single case studies. Nevertheless, both empirical and theoretical studies are accepted if they offer insights into issues related to the public sphere theories and debates, such as:

• the role of (media) communication in fostering human freedom and social change;
• public service broadcasting;
• media democratization in East-Central Europe, South-East Asia and China;

• public opinion and political representation;

Although the primary objective of the journal is to contribute to intellectual understanding of transformations in the democratic process, it is also meant to contribute to improved political practice, policy, and action.

Euricom’s quarterly is named after the Slovene noun “ javnost,” which has the same complex meaning(s) as the German concept, Öffentlichkeit (the Slovene language is one of not very many languages that have a perfect conceptual equivalent to the German term Öffentlichkeit). Due to the multi-dimensionality of the concept “javnost,” its comprehensive and all-embracing translation into English and many other languages is not possible. The conceptual capacity of the traditional English term, “the public”, the English co-title of the journal, is one of its meanings in English, much narrower than its German/Slovene counterpart Öffentlichkeit/javnost, which is deliberately used against its currently much more popular rival, “the public sphere”. By using the term “the public,” we want to emphasize fundamental ontological differences between “the public” and “the public sphere” as two distinct entities and concepts, and oppose the widespread conceptual substitution of “the public” by “the public sphere,” which may – paradoxically – even imply the disappearance of the body public through a discursive process, i.e. the existence of “the public sphere” without “the public.”

  Javnost—The Public is a peer-reviewed journal and all peer review is double blind.

International Journal of General Systems is a cross-disciplinary periodical devoted primarily to the publication of original research contributions to system science, basic as well as applied. However, relevant tutorial and survey articles, invited autobiographical articles, book reviews, bibliographies, and letters to the editor are also published. The principal aim of the journal is to promote original systems ideas (concepts, principles, methods, insightful theoretical or experimental results, etc.) that transcend the boundaries between traditional academic disciplines. The term 'general system' in the name of the journal is intended to indicate this aim - the orientation to systems ideas that have a general applicability. Some typical subject areas covered by the journal include: natural language as a systemic or holistic concept, systems modelling, simulation and design; systems complexity and simplification; cross-disciplinary problem solving; and theoretical as well as experimental knowledge regarding various categories of systems, such as adaptive, anticipatory, autopoietic, cellular, chaotic, dynamic, fuzzy, hierarchical, immune-like, learning, neural, quantum, self-organization, self-producing, self-referential, etc. The journal also contains a special area section devoted to intelligent systems. It should include: a tentative title; name(s) and address(es) of the Guest Editor(s); purpose and scope; possible contributors; and a timetable (deadlines for "call for papers" and review processes, intended publication date, etc.) The whole process should take about a year. If the proposal is accepted, the Guest Editor(s) will be responsible for the special issue and should follow the normal IJAIT review process, which requires five reviewers for each received paper. Slavic & East European Information Resources (SEEIR) serves as a focal point for the international exchange of information in the field of Slavic* librarianship. Affiliated with the Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES), this English-language journal features original research, new developments in the field, regular columns and reviews of relevant material. Subjects covered include acquisitions, cataloging and metadata, collection development and management, digitization, information literacy instruction, preservation, and reference; as well as works on individual Slavic collections, Slavic book studies, as well as anything that touches on the practice of Slavic librarianship in North America, in the countries covered, and elsewhere in the world. Estudios de Psicología publishes articles of empirical research, methodological innovation, and theoretical debate in the frontier of psychological knowledge. Among others, examples of articles in the frontier of psychology are those that allow for a new understanding of a psychological phenomenon, that soundly and originally criticize a mainstream theory, that defy the discipline’s commonly accepted knowledge, that propose original experimental paradigms, different to those widely accepted by the academic community of the normal science… Its main goal is thus to provide a dialogue forum both between psychological sub-disciplines, and between psychology and other related disciplines.

In order to foster approaches that delve deep into psychology's most relevant trends and developments, as of 2014 Estudios de Psicología will only accept manuscripts whose content and approach follows the guidelines indicated in the journal’s current calls for monographic issues, regardless of whether these calls have been issued by the journal Editor or by Invited Editors who have submitted a monographic proposal according to the journal’s Instructions For Authors.

Estudios de Psicología will be of interest to researchers and graduate students working in psychology and related disciplines, and psychologists working in both applied fields and academia.

Estudios de Psicología publica artículos de investigación empírica, innovación metodológica y debate teórico en la frontera del conocimiento psicológico. Entre otros, se pueden considerar ejemplos de artículos en la frontera de la psicología aquellos que permitan comprender de manera novedosa un fenómeno psicológico, que critiquen alguna teoría de corriente principal de manera fundada y original, que desafíen el conocimiento común de la disciplina, que propongan paradigmas experimentales originales, diferentes de los aceptados por la comunidad de académicos de la ciencia normal... Su objetivo prioritario es por tanto constituirse en un espacio de diálogo, tanto entre diferentes subdisciplinas psicológicas, como entre la psicología y otras formas de conocimiento próximas a ella.

Con el fin de promover el tratamiento en profundidad de las líneas de desarrollo más relevantes de nuestra disciplina, a partir de 2014 Estudios de Psicología solo aceptará artículos cuyo contenido y enfoque siga las pautas marcadas por las convocatorias vigentes de temas monográficos, ya sean planteados por el Editor de la revista o por Editores Invitados que hayan enviado una propuesta, según el esquema que se expone en las Instrucciones Para Autores. BMJ Sexual and Reproductive Health publishes material on contraception, abortion, menopause, sexual and reproductive health, sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted infection, clinical practice, and health education and training. We welcome submissions of research, reviews, and articles and commentaries relevant to all health care professionals working in the area of sexual and reproductive health. While it is not currently a requirement, we actively encourage patient involvement in the design, analysis and presentation of research.

The American Educational Research Journal publishes original empirical and theoretical studies and analyses in education that constitute significant contributions to the understanding and/or improvement of educational processes and outcomes. The Social and Institutional Analysis section focuses on significant political, cultural, social, economic, and organizational issues in education, and the Teaching, Learning, and Human Development section explores the processes and outcomes of teaching, learning, and human development at all educational levels and in both formal and informal settings. Both sections publish research representing a wide range of academic disciplines and using a wide range of research methods.

Minerva is devoted to the study of ideas, traditions, cultures, and institutions in science, higher education, and research. It is equally focused on historical as well as present practices and on local as well as global issues. Moreover, the journal does not represent one single school of thought, but rather welcomes diversity within the rules of rational discourse. The journal features peer reviewed articles and essay reviews. In addition, special issues are periodically published on themes of topical importance.
