JAWRA seeks to be the preeminent scholarly publication on multidisciplinary water resources issues. JAWRA papers present ideas derived from multiple disciplines woven together to give insight into a critical water issue, or are based primarily upon a single discipline with important applications to other disciplines. Papers often cover the topics of recent AWRA conferences such as riparian ecology, geopraphic information systems, adaptive management, and water policy.JAWRA authors present work within their disciplinary fields to a broader audience. Our Associate Editors and reviewers reflect this diversity to ensure a knowledgeable and fair review of a broad range of topics. We particularly encourage submissions of papers which impart a 'take home message' our readers can use.

JARO is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research findings from disciplines related to otolaryngology and communications sciences, including hearing and balance. JARO welcomes submissions describing original experimental research that investigates the mechanisms underlying problems of basic or clinical significance. Clinical case studies, pharmaceutical screens and methods papers are not encouraged unless they include significant new findings as well. Commentaries and reviews are published at the discretion of the editorial board; consult the editor-in-chief before submitting. Accepted papers are copyedited and rapidly published in Online First before being bundled in an online issue (six per year) with notification to alerts subscribers. Springer deposits all final manuscripts with PubMed Central with a one year embargo. This journal addresses miniaturized sensor, instrumentation, control, and power systems for small air and space platforms and applications.

The IEEE Journal on Miniaturization for Air and Space Systems (J-MASS) is a new technical journal devoted to covering the rapidly evolving field of small air and space systems such as drones and small satellites. These platforms offer new, low-cost ways to accomplish a wide range of sensing functions for applications ranging from agriculture to land use and ocean surveys.

The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

The Journal of Lightwave Technology is comprised of original contributions, both regular papers and letters, covering work in all aspects of optical guided-wave science, technology, and engineering. Manuscripts are solicited which report original theoretical and/or experimental results which advance the technological base of guided-wave technology. Tutorial and review papers are by invitation only. Topics of interest include the following: fiber and cable technologies, active and passive guided-wave componentry (light sources, detectors, repeaters, switches, fiber sensors, etc.); integrated optics and optoelectronics; and systems, subsystems, new applications and unique field trials. System oriented manuscripts should be concerned with systems which perform a function not previously available, out-perform previously established systems, or represent enhancements in the state of the art in general.

IEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering (hereinafter called TEEE ) publishes 6 times per year as an official journal of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (hereinafter 'IEEJ'). This peer-reviewed journal contains original research papers and review articles on the most important and latest technological advances in core areas of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and in related disciplines. Injury was founded in 1969 and is an international journal dealing with all aspects of trauma care and accident surgery. Internal and Emergency Medicine (IEM) is an independent, international, English-language, peer-reviewed journal designed for internists and emergency physicians. IEM publishes a variety of manuscript types including Original investigations, Review articles, Letters to the Editor, Editorials and Commentaries. Occasionally IEM accepts unsolicited Reviews, Commentaries or Editorials. The journal is divided into three sections, i.e., Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Clinical Evidence and Health Technology Assessment, with three separate editorial boards. In the Internal Medicine section, invited Case records and Physical examinations, devoted to underlining the role of a clinical approach in selected clinical cases, are also published. The Emergency Medicine section will include a Morbidity and Mortality Report and an Airway Forum concerning the management of difficult airway problems. The International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering publishes refereed papers describing significant developments in numerical methods that are applicable to engineering problems in solids, fluids, structures, fluid-structure interaction, nanotechnology, and multi-physics, multi-disciplinary and multi-scale problems. The Editors also encourage contributions in the areas of model reduction, uncertainty quantification, and verification and validation. Numerical examples that illustrate the methods or their accuracy are encouraged. However, papers dealing strictly with applications of existing methods or dealing with areas of research which are not cutting edge, as deemed by the editors, will not be considered for review. The journal publishes full-length papers, which should normally be less than 25 journal pages in length. Discussions of papers already in print are also considered. Two part papers will be discouraged unless considered necessary by the Editors.

The Journal publishes original refereed papers, review papers and correspondence in the fields of skin and cosmetic research. It is read by practising cosmetic scientists and dermatologists, as well as specialists in more diverse disciplines that are developing new products which contact the skin. The aim of the Journal is to present current scientific research, both pure and applied, in: cosmetics, toiletries, perfumery and allied fields. Areas that are of particular interest include: human safety testing of skin, hair and oral products, physical chemistry and technology of emulsion and dispersed systems, theory and application of surfactants, new developments in olfactive research, aerosol technology and selected aspects of analytical chemistry.

The issues addressed include the quality of response of materials, body structures and energy-absorbing systems subjected to sudden dynamic loading, focussing on new crashworthy structures, new concepts in restraint systems and realistic accident reconstruction. Articles reflect the importance of computer modelling, as well as the development of human surrogates in impact simulation and prediction of vehicle and passenger response. Papers on impact biomechanics, covering human response, mechanics of injury and occupant protection in general, are also published. International Journal of Crashworthiness publishes both original research papers (full papers and short communications) and state-of-the-art reviews. The International Journal of Electronics publishes original papers in experimental and theoretical aspects of electronics. The wide scope encompasses analogue and digital circuit design, microwave circuits and systems, optoelectronic circuits, photovoltaics, semiconductor devices, sensor technology, transport in electronic materials, VLSI technology and device processing. The journal also recognizes the importance of emerging technologies and encourages papers on new areas, such as electronics for micromachines, mesoscopic devices, molecular electronics, superconducting electronics and vacuum microelectronics.
