Academy of Management Perspectives

ISSN: 1558-9080eISSN: 1943-4529

The Academy of Management Perspectives is a journal of The Academy of Management . Founded in 1936, The Academy is the leading international organization of academics and practitioners that works to foster the advancement of research, learning, teaching, and practice in the management field. It has about 18,000 members in more than 100 countries.Management research has expanded significantly in recent decades, making it difficult for scholars to follow advances in the multiple, specialized sub-fields. The Academy of Management Perspectives addresses this by publishing important work that synthesizes and translates theoretical and empirical research in management's distinct sub-fields in an authoritative evidential manner that makes these findings accessible for scholars outside that sub-field. Research suitable for publication in AMP includes: (a) reviews of what we already know; (b) integration of diverse theories and empirical findings that inform in a new and interesting way; (c) forward-looking expositions that integrate and articulate existing theory and findings with new and provocative ideas; and (d) integration of theory and research in management with related advances in other non-management sciences and disciplines. Single articles or collections of related articles are welcome.Articles in AMP translate research findings for a non-expert audience and present new evidence that describes the world of management and business. AMP is open to the wide range of topics represented within the Academy of Management, although special attention will be given to manuscripts with broad appeal to the "thought leader" audience. The editorial process for AMP submissions is also different. Authors are encouraged to submit a short proposal outlining their project and get feedback on their approach before submitting a full text article.

Archives of Suicide Research

ISSN: 1381-1118eISSN: 1543-6136

Archives of Suicide Research, the official journal of the International Academy of Suicide Research (IASR), is the international journal in the field of suicidology. The journal features original, refereed contributions on the study of suicide, suicidal behavior, its causes and effects, and techniques for prevention. The journal incorporates research-based and theoretical articles contributed by a diverse range of authors interested in investigating the biological, pharmacological, psychiatric, psychological, and sociological aspects of suicide. The editors of ASR are mindful of the dichotomy between general (quantitative/nomothetic) methods of research and practice and approaches that utilize specific case studies (qualitative/idiographic). While eagerly accepting work from suicidologists situated on both sides of this division, the editors ultimately wish to cultivate a forum that attempts to reconcile and merge these oppositional modes. It is their belief that, by amalgamating the general and the specific, the field of suicidology will become a more scientific discipline - a discipline that encourages the open exchange of knowledge and techniques. And it is the mission of ASR to be the primary conduit through which the results of such exchanges will be enthusiastically disseminated.Features of the journal include:Book ReviewsResearch ReviewsNews and notes in the field of SuicidologyCase Studies Peer Review Policy:All review papers in this journal have undergone editorial screening and rigourous peer review.Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Continental Shelf Research

ISSN: 0278-4343eISSN: 1873-6955

Continental Shelf Research publishes articles dealing with the physical oceanography, sedimentology, geology, chemistry, biology and ecology of the shallow marine environment, from coastal and estuarine water out to the shelf break. Papers that are published present results from both fundamental, original research as well as applied, or directed research.Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary process-oriented contributions, and encouragement is given to the publication of the results of innovative experimental studies with more general applicability.Continental Shelf Research publishes occasional review articles. It also includes a section on Notes, Instrumentation and Methods. Furthermore, papers are open for written discussion for up to three months following publication and both the discussion and the author's response are published.Continental Shelf Research also publishes special issues dedicated to results of large interdisciplinary studies or topical issues on specific subjects.Note to Authors: When considering submission of a manuscript to CSR, bear in mind that recent analyses show that published papers are downloaded by scientists from over 90 countries world-wide. This level of usage emphasizes the need for authors to present their research results in a broad context, to be of interest to this international community. Likewise, when suggesting the four reviewers for a manuscript, an international perspective of individual scientists (not necessarily affiliated with CSR) should be considered.
