The IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering is interested in well-defined theoretical results and empirical studies that have potential impact on the construction, analysis, or management of software. The scope of this Transactions ranges from the mechanisms through the development of principles to the application of those principles to specific environments. Specific topic areas include: a) development and maintenance methods and models, e.g., techniques and principles for the specification, design, and implementation of software systems, including notations and process models; b) assessment methods, e.g., software tests and validation, reliability models, test and diagnosis procedures, software redundancy and design for error control, and the measurements and evaluation of various aspects of the process and product; c) software project management, e.g., productivity factors, cost models, schedule and organizational issues, standards; d) tools and environments, e.g., specific tools, integrated tool environments including the associated architectures, databases, and parallel and distributed processing issues; e) system issues, e.g., hardware-software trade-off; and f) state-of-the-art surveys that provide a synthesis and comprehensive review of the historical development of one particular area of interest.

For several decades, George W. Hahn's 1955 classic account of "The History and Philosophy of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontia" has been essential reading for every new or prospective or reflective member of the Angle Society. It is here reproduced in its original form, as published privately by the Society in 1956, with only minor typographical improvements. Wendell Wylie's salient preface for the original essay is retained in this electronic edition, as are the references to our Society under its former name, the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontia.Enjoy this inspiring historical portrait of the Angle Society. It is a proud heritage.
The scope of the Review of Financial Economics (RFE) is broad. The RFE publishes original research in finance (e.g. corporate finance, investments, financial institutions and international finance) and economics (e.g. monetary theory, fiscal policy, and international economics). It specifically encourages submissions that apply economic principles to financial decision making. For example, while RFE will publish papers which study the behavior of security prices and those which provide analyses of monetary and fiscal policies, it will offer a special forum for articles which examine the impact of macroeconomic factors on the behavior of security prices. RFE will only consider empirical research and is a not a suitable outlet for strictly theoretical papers.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. The International Journal of Gerontology is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Taiwan Society of Geriatric Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. The journal is published quarterly in March, June, September and December, and is indexed/ abstracted in SCOPUS, EMBASE, CAB Abstracts, Global Health, Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), ScienceDirect and SIIC Data Bases. The journal has received an impact factor of 0.556 in the Journal Citation Report 2009.The International Journal of Gerontology is the journal with intention to explore and clarify the medical science and philosophy in geriatric fields, especially those in the emergency and critical care medicine. The scientific information published here is grounded on clinical cases, statistic evidence of original studies, and accumulation of medical knowledge, humanistic ethics and basic researches.Topics in the International Journal of Gerontology (IJGE) cover the advancement of diagnosis and management in urgent, serious and chronic intractable diseases in later life, preventive medicine, long-term care of disability, ethical issues in the diseased elderly and biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, pharmacology, physiology and protein chemistry involving diseases associated with age. We did not limit the territory to only critical or emergency condition inasmuch as chronic diseases are frequently brought about by inappropriate management of acute problems. We are also interested in studies bridging the gap between basic and clinical aspects of geriatric diseases In addition to original articles, book reviews, short communications and letters to the editor are also welcome.
Computer and Communications networks are key infrastructures of the information society with high socio-economic value as they contribute to the correct operations of many critical services (from healthcare to finance and transportation). Internet is the core of today's computer-communication infrastructures. This has transformed the Internet, from a robust network for data transfer between computers, to a global, content-rich, communication and information system where contents are increasingly generated by the users, and distributed according to human social relations. Next-generation network technologies, architectures and protocols are therefore required to overcome the limitations of the legacy Internet and add new capabilities and services. The future Internet should be ubiquitous, secure, resilient, and closer to human communication paradigms.Computer Communications is a peer-reviewed international journal that publishes high-quality scientific articles (both theory and practice) and survey papers covering all aspects of future computer communication networks (on all layers, except the physical layer), with a special attention to the evolution of the Internet architecture, protocols, services, and applications.
