Journal Guide

Arabic Linguistics is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles on all aspects of the scientific study of Arabic in all its varieties. The focus may be on one or more varieties, the perspective may be synchronic or diachronic, and the methodology may be quantitative or qualitative. Contributions are invited which address current issues in linguistics, with Arabic as the object of investigation. No specific theoretical approaches are given any preference, but submissions need to have clear implications for linguistic theory and cannot be only descriptive in nature. Striving to be a platform for the dissemination of high-quality research on Arabic linguistics, the journal will also publish reviews of important new books in related areas as well as occasional squibs and dissertation abstracts.

The official language of the journal is English.

Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology is an international journal that publishes articles in English that are of interest to insect biochemists and physiologists. Generally these articles will be in, or related to, one of the following subject areas: Endocrinology, Development, Neurobiology, Behavior, Pharmacology, Nutrition, Carbohydrates, Lipids, Enzymes, Proteins, Peptides, Nucleic Acids, Molecular Biology, Toxicology. ARCHIVES will publish only original articles. Articles that are confirmatory in nature or deal with analytical methods previously described will not be accepted.

Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research is a quarterly international journal. It publishes original research papers, shorter contributions, resulting correspondence, and book reviews. The subject matter deals with any scientific or cultural aspect of Arctic, Antarctic, and alpine environments and related topics on subarctic, subantarctic, subalpine environments, and paleoenvironments. Papers may be uni- or multidisciplinary but should have interdisciplinary appeal. Special thematic issues and proceedings are published from time to time.

Argumentation is an international and interdisciplinary journal that gathers academic contributions from a wide range of scholarly backgrounds and approaches to reasoning, natural inference and persuasion: communication, classical and modern rhetoric, linguistics, discourse analysis, pragmatics, psychology, philosophy, formal and informal logic, critical thinking, history and law. Its scope includes a diversity of interests, from philosophical, theoretical and analytical to empirical and practical topics. Argumentation publishes papers, book reviews, a yearly bibliography, and announcements of conferences and seminars.

Atmosphere (ISSN 2073-4433) is an international and cross-disciplinary scholarly journal of scientific studies related to the atmosphere. It publishes reviews, regular research papers, communications and short notes, and there is no restriction on the length of the papers. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. BioFactors is an international journal aimed at identifying and increasing our understanding of the precise biochemical effects and roles of the large number of trace substances that are required by living organisms. Breast Cancer Research is an international, peer-reviewed online journal, publishing original research, reviews, editorials and reports. Open access research articles of exceptional interest are published in all areas of biology and medicine relevant to breast cancer, including normal mammary gland biology, with special emphasis on the genetic, biochemical, and cellular basis of breast cancer. In addition to basic research, the journal publishes preclinical, translational and clinical studies with a biological basis, including Phase I and Phase II trials.

The British Journal of Ophthalmology (BJO) is an international peer-reviewed journal for ophthalmologists and visual science specialists describing clinical investigations, clinical observations, and clinically relevant laboratory investigations related to ophthalmology. Main features include articles on both clinical and laboratory sciences, up to date major reviews, editorials, education articles and letters. There are sections for 'Innovations' and 'Global issues' where surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic innovations and manuscripts of regional interest to geographic areas of the world respectively, are published.

Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine, originally entitled 'Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine' (English Edition), was founded in 1995, and changed formally its name in 2003. This journal is supervised by State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, sponsored by Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is the first international peer-reviewed monthly journal on integrative medicine included in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E).

The international journal Climate Dynamics provides for the publication of high-quality research on all aspects of the dynamics of the global climate system. Dendrochronologia is an international scholarly journal in tree-ring research. It publishes high-quality original research dealing with growth rings of woody plants and the application of tree-ring studies to problems in a wide variety of fields including, but not limited to, archaeology, botany, climatology, ecology, forestry, geology and hydrology. Original research articles, reviews, communications, technical notes and personal notes are considered for publication.

Energy Transitions delivers leading research that evaluates the policy, economic, and technical challenges and opportunities arising from initiatives to move toward more sustainable and less-carbon intensive power generation mixes. International and multidisciplinary in scope, the journal is fully Open Access thanks to the support of KACST and KAPSARC.

The journal will include articles that address either of two major thematic areas: (1) energy economics and energy policy and (2) electrical energy technologies. Thus, articles will focus on the policy and economic aspect of energy transitions as well as the technological aspects related to energy transitions.
