Catalysis Science & Technology is committed to publishing research reporting high-quality, cutting-edge developments across the catalysis community at large. The journal places equal focus on publications from the heterogeneous, homogeneous, thermo-, electro-, photo-, organo- and biocatalysis communities. Works published in the journal feature a balanced mix of fundamental, technology-oriented, experimental, computational, digital and data-driven original research, thus appealing to catalysis practitioners in both academic and industrial environments. Original research articles published in the journal must demonstrate new catalytic discoveries and/or methodological advances that represent a significant advance on previously published work, from the molecular to the process scales. We welcome rigorous research in a wide range of timely or emerging applications related to the environment, health, energy and materials.

The field of cellular and molecular bioengineering seeks to understand, so that we may ultimately control, the mechanical, chemical, and electrical processes of the cell.  A key challenge in improving human health is to understand how cellular behavior arises from molecular-level interactions.  CBME, an official journal of the Biomedical Engineering Society, publishes original research and review papers in the following seven general areas:

Molecular: DNA-protein/RNA-protein interactions, protein folding and function, protein-protein and receptor-ligand interactions, lipids, polysaccharides, molecular motors, and the biophysics of macromolecules that function as therapeutics or engineered matrices, for example.

Cellular: Studies of how cells sense physicochemical events surrounding and within cells, and how cells transduce these events into biological responses.  Specific cell processes of interest include cell growth, differentiation, migration, signal transduction, protein secretion and

Chemical & Biomedical Imaging is a peer-reviewed open access journal devoted to the publication of cutting-edge research papers on all aspects of chemical and biomedical imaging. This interdisciplinary field sits at the intersection of chemistry, physics, biology, materials, engineering, and medicine. The journal aims to bring together researchers from across these disciplines to address cutting-edge challenges of fundamental research and applications.

Nutrition and nutritional care have gained wide clinical and scientific interest during the past decades. The increasing knowledge of metabolic disturbances and nutritional assessment in chronic and acute diseases has stimulated rapid advances in design, development and clinical application of nutritional support. The aims of ESPEN are to encourage the rapid diffusion of knowledge and its application in the field of clinical nutrition and metabolism.

Published bimonthly, Clinical Nutrition ESPEN focuses on publishing articles on the relationship between nutrition and disease in the setting of basic science and clinical practice. Clinical Nutrition ESPEN is available to all members of ESPEN and to all subscribers of Clinical Nutrition.

Authors from ESPEN Block members have the opportunity to directly submit their paper to the Section Associate Editor of the respective country. These papers will be published in a country-specific section of the journal.

The aim of this study was to visualize the expression of androgen receptor, cytochrome P450 aromatase and FSH receptor mRNAs in various structures of porcine ovary. Porcine ovaries were frozen in liquid nitrogen, and 8 mm sections were prepared for in situ hybridization. In the small, medium and large antral follicles as well as in early, midluteal and regressing corpora lutea mRNAs for androgen receptor, P450 aromatase and FSH receptor were detected. In small antral follicles high levels of mRNAs for androgen and FSH receptors were observed, mainly in the granulosa layer, while mRNA expression for P450 aromatase was negligible. As follicles grew, amount of mRNAs for androgen receptor and FSH receptor decreased, and that for P450 aromatase increased. Small amounts of androgen receptor mRNA were also present in corpora lutea at all examined stages. P450 aromatase mRNA was not detected in early and midluteal corpora lutea. However, regressing corpus luteum showed a weak expression of aromatase mRNA.

The Journal of Applied Physiology publishes original papers that deal with diverse areas of research in applied physiology, especially those papers emphasizing adaptive and integrative mechanisms. Adaptive physiology includes 1) inherent adaptations such as those related to development, aging, and pathophysiological conditions and 2) adaptations to the external environment such as those occurring with exercise, microgravity, hypoxia, hypo- and hyperbaria, and hypo- and hyperthermic conditions. Integrative physiology includes 1) horizontal integration across organ systems and 2) vertical integration from molecule to cell to organ. In all areas of applied physiology, the use of cutting-edge techniques including molecular and cellular biology is strongly encouraged.The wide scientific span of the Journal rests on physiology as its keystone. However, the boundaries of physiology have enlarged as demarcations between concepts and techniques in the physiological, pharmacological, and biochemical sciences become increasingly blurred. Moreover, theoretical articles on research at any level of biological organization ranging from molecules to humans fall within the broad scope of the Journal. Papers dealing with topics in other basic sciences that impinge on physiology are also welcome.

The journals focus on those theoretical or experimental studies that report new understanding, applications, properties and synthesis of materials. The Journal of Media and Religion addresses the question of how religion as a social and cultural phenomenon broadens understanding of mass communication in society. It is a forum for scholars, media professionals, and theologians to discuss media and religion from a social science viewpoint. Research in Nondestructive Evaluation® is the American Society for Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation’s archival research journal. RNDE® contains the results of original research in all areas of nondestructive evaluation (NDE). The journal covers experimental and theoretical investigations dealing with the scientific and engineering bases of NDE, its measurement and methodology, and a wide range of applications of materials and structures that relate to the entire life cycle, from manufacture to use and retirement. Illustrative topics include advances in the underlying science of acoustic, thermal, electrical, magnetic, optical and ionizing radiation techniques and their applications to NDE problems. Critical Discourse Studies is an interdisciplinary journal for the social sciences. Its primary aim is to publish critical research that advances our understanding of how discourse figures in social processes, social structures, and social change.Critical Discourse Studies has been established in response to the proliferation of critical discourse studies across the social sciences and humanities. Dynamics of Asymmetric Conflict (DAC) is a pioneering interdisciplinary journal that publishes original papers and reviews that contribute to understanding and ameliorating conflicts between states and non-state challengers. These conflicts too often lead to violence, sometimes to the extremes of terrorism or genocide. Understanding the trajectory to violence requires examination of conflicts that do not escalate to violence as well as those that do. This means studying individuals, groups, and movements who challenge the state without violence, as well as those who turn to radicalism and terrorism. Similarly, it is necessary to study state agents, agencies, and policy makers who respond to challenge without violence, as well as those who turn to torture, ethnic cleansing and genocide.It follows from this multi-level and dynamic perspective that every social science is welcome in the journal. Scholars from anthropology, communications, criminology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology and sociology are invited to join in a new subculture that includes policy makers, analysts, and officers of police, military and intelligence services, as well as officers of non-governmental organizations and foundations interested in peace and conflict.
