Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts publishes high quality papers in all areas of the environmental chemical sciences, including chemistry of the air, water, soil and sediment. We welcome studies on the environmental fate and effects of anthropogenic and naturally occurring contaminants, both chemical and microbiological, as well as related natural element cycling processes. Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts strongly prefers significant contributions whose results can be generalised to other systems, especially studies that characterise chemical processes (e.g. chemical and (micro)biological transformations and transport) as well as those that address contaminant impacts on ecosystems and human health. We also welcome high impact field studies, particularly those that are broad enough to define occurrence baselines or long term trends, identify new contaminants, or those that enrich our molecular-level understanding of environmental systems. Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts also invites papers that bridge between environmental chemistry and sustainability topics, such as life cycle assessment, materials flow analysis, and environmental decision making.

The primary aim of the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery is to provide a medium for the publication of high-quality original scientific reports documenting progress in cardiac and thoracic surgery. The Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data (JCED) publishes data on phase behavior and physical, thermodynamic, and transport properties obtained from both experiment and computation, which are viewed as complementary. JCED encourages manuscripts that report on consequential (relevant, comprehensive, and robust) data and place these data into context by addressing what can be learned from differences and similarities to prior published data on related systems. 

Examples of topics that are in-scope:

• New measurements of thermophysical/thermochemical properties for chemical systems whose compositions are known.
• New experimental phase equilibrium data (e.g., vapor-liquid, supercritical fluid, liquid-liquid, solid-solid, solid-liquid, solid-vapor, solid-supercritical fluid, and gas hydrate equilibrium).
• Thermophysical/thermochemical properties and phase equilibrium data obtained from quantum chemistry, molecular simulation, and molecular mechanics calculations.
• Comprehensive Reviews of experimental or computational techniques for thermophysical/thermochemical properties and phase equilibria and thought-provoking Perspectives on topics of current interest to the thermophysical properties research community.

Examples of topics that are NOT in-scope:

• Phase equilibrium or thermophysical/thermochemical properties of mixtures whose compositions are NOT known. Many environmental and biological samples fit in this category.
• Reaction kinetics and catalysis.
• Applications that do not measure or calculate the fundamental thermophysical properties or phase equilibria (e.g., permeabilities through membranes without measurement or calculation of solubilities and diffusivities).
• Computational approaches (including machine learning) that predict data via a correlation of molecular or other macroscopic properties.
• Materials synthesis and characterization where the phase equilibrium and/or thermophysical properties are not the main focus of the paper.

Nature Chemistry is a monthly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality papers that describe the most significant and cutting-edge research in all areas of chemistry. Afrika Matematika is the Journal of the African Mathematical Union.Its publication started in 1978. Agricultural and Forest Entomology provides a multi-disciplinary and international forum in which researchers can present their work on all aspects of agricultural and forest entomology to other researchers, policy makers and professionals. The Journal welcomes primary research papers, reviews and short communications on entomological research relevant to the control of insect and other arthropod pests. We invite high quality original research papers on the biology, population dynamics, impact and management of pests of the full range of forest, agricultural and horticultural crops. All cropping systems within these sectors are of interest, including forest plantations, semi-natural forest stands, seed orchards, fruit orchards, agroforestry systems, grassland, arable and horticultural field and protected crops. All papers, including those on insect biology and population dynamics, must be novel and be of applied importance. Papers on population dynamics should focus on the factors which lead to outbreaks of pests or to forecasting these outbreaks. Papers on the management of pests may include the development and use of techniques, such as plant resistance, pheromones, biological control, the economics of pest control and the use of silvicultural and crop management techniques to manage pests. Papers on biology underpinning the development of techniques and strategies of pest management will also be accepted.

A quarterly journal aimed at scientists engaged in studies in psychoactive substances, at clinicians and all those interested in problems connected with alcohol and drug addiction. The journal is interdisciplinary in its character - the papers accepted for publication address problems associated with alcohol and other psychoactive substances and take the form of studies in basic, clinical, epidemiological and social research topics. The issues discussed in the journal include alcohol and drug policy, social and cultural determinants in substance use, social history of alcohol and drug use, behavioural addictions, the influence of psychoactive substances on mechanisms in the brain and its neuroplasticity, biological factors associated with alcohol and psychoactive substance abuse in youth and adults, impact of addictions on health, nervous system, liver, life expectancy, addiction therapy schemes, pharmacological strategies.

The goal of the journal is to share the results of Polish and international research work and studies, expand and integrate research groups, and also to build bridges between science and (clinical) practice.

The Editorial Board accepts for publication original research papers, review articles, case studies and monographs, conference papers, conference reviews, book reviews, letters and announcements. All the research articles, reviews, case studies and monographs are peer reviewed. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. We accept articles in Polish and English.

Alcoholism and Drug Addiction is an official journal of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw.

The paper version of the journal is distributed by The State Agency for the Prevention of Alcohol Related Problems, which also provides co-financing.

Communication Quarterly, a scholarly, academic journal sponsored by the Eastern Communication Association (ECA) publishes refereed manuscripts extending the understanding of human communication. Contemporary Clinical Trials Communications is unique in that it is outside the confines of disease specifications, and it strives to increase the transparency of medical research and reduce publication bias by publishing scientifically valid original research findings irrespective of their perceived importance, significance or impact. Both randomized and non-randomized trials are within the scope of the Journal. Some common topics include trial design rationale and methods, operational methodologies and challenges, and positive and negative trial results. In addition to original research, the Journal also welcomes other types of communications including, but are not limited to, methodology reviews, perspectives and discussions.

Through timely dissemination of advances in clinical trials, the goal of Contemporary Clinical Trials Communications is to serve as a platform to enhance the communication and collaboration within the global clinical trials community that ultimately advances this field of research for the benefit of patients.

Cardiovascular imaging technologies now play an expanded role in clinical practice. Beyond the diagnosis of a disease process, these techniques are rapidly transitioning to help guide therapy. The journal aims to keep readers current with rapidly evolving advances in instrumentation and imaging procedures that support the expanded role of these technologies in clinical practice. The journal intends to place the entire area of cardiovascular imaging in its proper prospective by establishing the indications and limitations of each imaging technique and by summarizing recent clinical advances.

We accomplish this aim by appointing international authorities to serve as Section Editors in key subject areas across the field, including cardiac magnetic resonance, nuclear imaging, echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography, intravascular, molecular, and hybrid imaging. Section Editors select topics for which leading experts contribute comprehensive review articles that emphasize new developments and recently published papers of major importance, highlighted by annotated reference lists.  An Editorial Board of internationally diverse members ensures that topics include emerging research and suggests topics of special interest to their country/region. We also provide commentaries from well-known figures in the field. 

Desalination is the premier international journal dedicated to communicating the latest developments in desalination including theoretical and applied research, technological and industrial development, other osmotic processes and the experience of operators and users.Desalination welcomes submissions describing use of desalting technologies such as thermal, membrane, sorption and hybrid processes. In addition, the journal considers exceptional research on new desalination materials, processes and technologies; transport and process modeling; energy consumption, renewable energy and energy recovery; pre-treatment, post-treatment and integrated systems; causes, consequences, and countermeasures of fouling and scaling; and technical, economic, and regulatory analyses of full-scale plants.Desalination welcomes theoretical and experimental research as Full Text Papers, Short Communications, State-of-the-Art Reviews and Letters to Editors on all aspects of desalination described above. Disability and Health Journal is a scientific, scholarly, and multidisciplinary journal for reporting original contributions that advance knowledge in disability and health. Topics may be related to global health, quality of life, and specific health conditions as they relate to disability. Such contributions include:• Reports of empirical research on the characteristics of persons with disabilities, environment, health outcomes, and determinants of health• Reports of empirical research on the Systematic or other evidence-based reviews and tightly conceived theoretical interpretations of research literature• Reports of empirical research on the Evaluative research on new interventions, technologies, and programs• Reports of empirical research on the Reports on issues or policies affecting the health and/or quality of life for persons with disabilities, using a scientific base.Disability and Health Journal describes and analyzes health and health related states using conceptual frameworks, including the international classification of functioning, disability and health. The mechanisms and contexts of human communication are rapidly changing in the face of new domains of interaction, new technologies, and new global cultures. Contemporary forms of discourse often involve interaction with and through a plethora of technologies. These mechanisms and contexts provide both new artefacts of study and new tools for discourse analysts.Discourse, Context & Media is an international journal dedicated to exploring the full range of contemporary discourse work. It provides an innovative forum to present research that addresses all forms of discourse theory, data and methods - from detailed linguistic or interactional analyses to wider studies of representation, knowledge and ideology.The journal overtly seeks empirical contributions as well as papers that address the theoretical and methodological debates within discourse studies. Such approaches include, but are not limited to: conversation analysis; ethnomethodology; discursive psychology; critical discourse analysis; and sociolinguistics. The journal seeks to explore the challenges and opportunities provided to discourse scholars by digital media. Such media provide opportunities for new forms of data to be analysed, allow rethinking of existing theories and encourage the development of new models of interaction. Devoted to theoretical and empirical analysis of innovation and new technology, this peer-reviewed journal acts as a bridge between the contributions of economic theory and empirical economics in this field. This bridge is built in two ways. First, by encouraging empirical research (including case studies, econometric work and historical research), evaluating existing economic theory, and suggesting appropriate directions for future effort in theoretical work.
